Mission: MISSION NAME: Enter Hey Daze MISSION INFORMATION This is the out of character mission information and RP Notes Last spoiler warning. ;) Hehe.. I wasn't totally sure how to follow up that kind of performance, with the record setting number of roleplays for the mission and all. Plus, we had charcters scattered over Hey Daze. Shamus is under attack by demons. Dash and Vixen are split up in Hey Daze. Catrina and her crew are together, at least. (Although I split them up.) And we didn't have any idea on how to bring in Raw Hide. The more I thought about it, the more things fell into place.. anyway.. here's the mission notes for everything, plus the scores at the bottom. I'd strongly reccomend reading the   Enter Hey Daze   mission   from the start   before you read these notes, but here they are, regardless. I originally messed up what was posted where, and had to fix it, so they're uglier than usual. And there's a lot of co posts.. some of the notes are a little on the long side. It was a long mission, after all. Mission information and roleplay (RP) Notes for Hey Daze. ------------- THE MISSION NOTES POSTS GO HERE in similar looking sections!   Mission Notes #1 Posted by: Sebastian Dash   NOTES: Catrina did everything for the opening segment of Rollover except Dash's part, which I did. I also did the rest of the Rollover. Hope you all liked!   TheChad and Fenninarnos Samus XTreme TheGimp   These four player characters were sent into Hey Daze to retrieve the Sun Orb. They failed in their mission. Just to be clear, this is the last opportunity for the four characters above to roleplay. If they chose, they can avoid their fate, which is to be taken out of the game. The goal of the mission is to try to save the four above, and retrieve the sun orb. Note that this mission IS fail-able. If we don't think there is a sufficient overall turnout, we reserve the option to have the goal go totally unmet. Here's the rules. If any of the above roleplay, they'll be spared. If someone wins the mission and so chooses, he can 'save' one of the above characters, even if they don't roleplay. The other characters will likely be killed off in some fashion in the Mission Finale, for effect. Any rescued character that isn't going to be actively roleplaying in the near future will likely be sent into a peaceful retirement, or "rehabilitation," until such a time in the future as they do become active again. HIGHWAY TO . . .. The thing about Hay Daze is, as you noticed in the Rollover (you read it, right?) - you need to GET to Hay Daze first! Use your imagination here... the portal in the distant woods is said to have been open earlier, but closed before the events in Rollover.. supposedly. It was heavily implied KOKOL had a way to get there and back, but it was a one shot trick, used for the "Doomed Four.." and there might not be any other handbags to get you to Hay Daze. At least.. not in the Kingdom. Use your creativity, and if need be, find someone to co write a solution up with! ENEMIES!! Multiple factions. Remember our big stories this year are the Penguin Mafia, although they've been shoved to the side, and the Knob Goblin, our main focus right now. So if you want to use one of their groups as enemies, feel free. Or use someone related. We established during the last mission that the Penguin Mafia were using the services of various bats, while the Knob Goblins were making use of the Muri-Dan and the more traditional rat enemies. Although this presumably includes Baron Von Ratsworth and the Big Boss Bat, please talk to me if you plan to use them! I might have plans for them in the future. Oh wait, it's just Boss Bat, isn't it? I was thinking of someone else there for a second... I might make use of the mysterious Shinpire mentioned in the last mission Finale... Factions that invade Hay Daze looking for the Orb, or to cause trouble.. of groups already there do not *have* to have any connection to the Knobs or Penguins.. but it's definitely something you should consider. I'll leave most of the details not listed to us to come up with on the go. Things like.. what's Hay Daze like? What's the Market Demon's role in this? (don't kill him or Slick Rick off, please.) Other than they supposedly sent us a letter to help them... Expect the sixth Elite Seven to debut during this, and possibly the final Elite Seven member as well. If you want to make your own Elite 7 member, there's still time.. just contact me and we'll discuss it! Expect around SIX weeks for roleplaying for this one! If you want to encounter one of the four who need saving, or the Orb during the mission, please talk to me first if at all possible so we can work something fair out. Try to get yourself in a good position by the time roleplaying ends, so I can hopefully do a shorter and quicker Finale for this one. Ahem, that's it for NOW, but stay tuned! Sebastian Dash, the wandering and dashing rogue himself has just finally encountered someone from his trip outside the kingdom. Enter Ri'kona, or Riko as she'll be called by everyone. She's Roxzan, from Adrule, and a performer. Thankfully, Dash remembered something she told him about, a key to a portal through the worlds. The Harp of Aeons, could it truely be so easy to find? Dash and Riko, upon entering the very establishment of the Armory and Leggery, set about finding Riko's legendary harp. Lots of weapons and armor, nothing of use to the duo. Or at least not what they were there for. With a terrible joke from the Princess, Sebastian Dash and Riko both inquire about the Harp of Aeons. The limbless proprietor shrugged and went out back to look in his wares. Of course, he was attacked by a few Adrulian foes, Zoombas. Zoombas are aquatic mushroomoid foes that adore spitting rocks at unwary travellers and heroes. Of course, Dash and Riko literally spring into action, slicing them and squashing at least one flat. Good news, no one was hurt badly. Bad news, no harp. With a few appologies, the duo headed back to the fountain to wait for Feena and Catrina. New post is up, and in it Feena and I get to try out luck finding this harp thing Riko wants. We aren't having much success at first, but we do find something- trouble. Trouble in the form a human bitch who apparently has something against furs! I mean- really! Well- I'm giving her the old stare down routine when this other bitch jumps me from behind and it's on! Feena starts blasting 'em both then concentrates on the little one while I have my hands full of...er with Big Mama. She's a good fighter, but so am I so we're basically just wrestling around while Feena and her opponent settle things. Feena wins out (YAY!) and they stop our fighting. Although it was starting to get good...shoot. A-nyway, The little one introduces them both as Azure and Jasmine Wellstone. The one I was fighting being Jasmine. And BOY! the way Jasmine cows whenever Azure bosses her around. I mean, like I wouldn't let some... *looks at Feena* Heh...oh yeah- nevermind. A-nyway, we 'make friends' and Azure even helps us out- showng us a harp she had found earlier- THE harp! That was the deal.> He snarled at Cattaras, wondering why he had to repeat all of this information again. Cattaras shook his head. <I leave you for one moment to follow a scent trail...> He snorted in reply. <I saw them in the fountain. She...she was ready to give herself to him then and there! I...I could not have that- not MY mate! I challenged him to a duel, and made sure he would not try to stall me by pushing her under the water, holding her there.> He nodded at Cattaras' gasp. <I knew he would give in. He may be a monkey, but for a monkey he is a good fighter.> Another growl escaped him. <I would have had him too- if not for THAT!> He jerked his thumb at the sky- now pitch black even though it was still supposedly daytime. Cattaras looked back at the sky, his ears flattening a bit as he did. <And this...this is because of the Orb?> He grunted. <They do not know, hence our haste to reach this wretched place.> ------------- Catrina, Riko, Dash and Feena Posted by: Sebastian Dash Hi, all! I'll try to keep this recap nice and simple, but a lot happened here! I started the thing off with an "everything until this point" style recap. Feena, understandably, nearly flipped when she saw He and Cattaras along with Catrina and Dash. Dash obviously wasn't very happy with the situation, either. We established it wasn't quite as dark around the spot near the corspe as it is near Seaside Town. It's a long ride, but it breaks down like this. Catrina explained the feline agreement to Feena and Riko. Before they could open up the port, the Jester King of Beasts attacked, blindsiding Feena! While Dash argued with Him, Cattaras jumped to Feena's aid! After the battle pitting Him, Cattaras, and our KOKOL force of four against the Jester King, the King fled as the next set of enemies rushed the scene! Snowmen ninjas! Or ninja snowmen if you prefer.. they even threw out the fabled snowbunny attack at our heroes.. Desperate the keep them OUT of Hey Daze, Cattaras and Dash stayed a bit behind, guarding the others as they went through the newly opened portal. When the dust cleared, Dash was left behind, alone after the snow ninjas vanished into the darkness.. As he wondered away, two mysterious ghostlike figures appeared to be watching.... stay tuned for more.. (Seriously, stay tuned. I've got some good twists up my sleeve still! I'd advise reading it before continuing on this one! AHEM.. There? All good? read the rp first? :P First scene: Dash makes his way south through the woods, trying to get there before the darkness of the night sets in. He's looking for Vivace. Cut to Vixen, who's tending bars, and getting sick of the annoying customers there. And the rot musician. She decides her shift is over after spilling a drink (distracted by the distant dark skies- although it looks like a strange stormhead form the distance.) She goes to Dash's horse, who'd made it's way towards the tavern earlier. Right on cue, Dash shoes up. Vixen and he talk- he shows her the harp, which she says looks almost exactly like her sister's 'one of a kind harp.' Since Vivace isn't in, Vixen helps Dash- Dash's leg still aches at this point- into the tavern. She goes off to get medicine, gets hit on by an Indiana Jones wannabe fox, and returns to Dash with the medicine, which he drinks- very reluctantly. ;) They rush outside, and oh yeah- :) Here's that spoiler. They find a ghost, which Vixen calls out to.. "Sis?" That's where we end it. Sorry to keep typing where the roleplay ended, but I wanted to sorta bury the spoiler. Shamus wakes up in hey deze, with his pet chameleon Inuy. He has somehow lost his weapons. They walk, until they get to an area filled with imps. Inuy breaks the fourth wall and kills them by turning them into ones and zeros. They walk more, open satan's bedroom's door. Satan is a nice guy. They walk even more. Kill imps, and demon chefs. Satan tells them where the exit is. They walk more, to the exit at the top of the stairs, by Fox's headquarters. An enraged cow is guarding it. Inuy kills it, by turning into a rock. The exit gets out at Hagnk's. They start going to the clan district. Shamus thinks he found the orb, but it's a rock. ------------- Catrina, Riko and Feena Posted by: Ambras's observations The shadow that was Amras looked down from his perch, keeping an eye on developments around him. Before today he would have only worried about his own ears, but now... it was his Beloved he strove to protect. He tried to avoid a certain voyeristic delight as he watched the two felines mating in the clearing ahead, finding amusement instead at the thought of the tom's perdicamnt, forced to choose between the taboos of his people and the sanity of his sister. His smile broadened as the spell fell, and the damsel in distress turned on her savior. He did a double take as he saw the male's face more fully. Surely not...? His thoughts on the Feline were interrupted by a motion below. He glanced down, seeing his Beloved stir finally after resting from their exhausting... meditations. She looked around for him, and Amras knew she wanted him to accompany her, but he also knew that his task- both that that had brought him here and the new one he had set himself, would be best served if few knew of his pesence. As his Beloved moved out toward the clearing, Amras moved as well, leaping from shadow to shadow. He took a new station nearer the clearing, his eyes widening as his earlier question thrust back into his mind. For below him he saw another Feline enter the clearing. And the first's identity became clear as he gazed upon this new figure, a monster he had become familiar with thruogh theit...mutual aquaintance. What were the two of them doing here? And...what was a Roxzan princess doing so far from her home waters? Obviously suffering, as he watched the rest give all their water to her- and the monster pick her up. Amras was surprsed at his gentleness. Was there, perhaps, a heart to the beast? Amras moved out with the others, following them. He would protect his Beloved as needed, but he was also eager to learn more of what was going on. ------------- Dash and Vixen Posted by: Dash, again "Hey Daze Lullaby"   For such a long piece, co written along with Vixen, not much happened. But it's worth reading to find out more about Vixen's sister, who seems to be a ghost, although not much is said about that. Her name is Vex, and she alternates between mocking Dash and outright making fun of him a bit. After the conversation, she helps Vixen play a song which basically takes them to Hey Daze, and draws up Vex's exit portal at the same time. The rp ends with Vex gone, and Vixen and Dash wide eye, although we don't actually see what they see. Notes: We're hoping Vixen gets a co write up next, although I'll co write an opening with her to transition from this roleplay. And I plan to get a solo roleplay of my OWN up before the Tuesday deadline! Keep up the great rp'ing everyone!! 8 PC characters from 7 active handlers- whoo! PS: If they seem odd at the end, I wrote the very end part myself.. heh.. hopefully I got the sisters right. ------------- Samus's 'short' second Posted by: Samus XTreme While rummaging through the bag, which he got from Satan as a tip; Shamus found his helmet, with a note from Satan, to Satan, saying he was incompetent. He rushed back to Hagnk’s to get back to hey deze, only to find the door was gone. He attempted to kill himself, to get to hey deze; but Inuya knocked him out. He woke up in hey deze, and put on his helmet. Inuya told him they got there from a plot hole; they walked awhile, until a demon stopped them. Shamus tricked the demon, into running to his friends, and beating them up. They got to a large arena, where Shamus thought he found the orb; but it was a giant light bulb, that burned his hands, and sent him plummeting to the ground. Two demons came to the arena; because they heard smashing, and went towards Shamus. Shamus hurt his leg falling, so Inuya morphed into a cocoabo, and went to fight the demons. And that’s all, very short. ------------- Dash and Vixen's solo bits Posted by: Dash Notes for MY RP *And* Vixen's.. :D They both break down to the same thing.. Dash and Vixen ended up getting capturing, dealing with the 'hellish' staff of Hey Daze (you can't say Hell at least in that store, the 7-Eternal.. my joke.. don't blame Vix for it) ... wink.gif And escaping at the end in order to get to the mission finale on time.. Guess that'll about do it for official 'before the deadline' rp's? I had to half ass my ending a bit cause I had problems rehooking the computer up and wasted time I was supposed to be writing offline. But it's.. well decide for yourself. Onto the Finale, coming Soon©! Dash :)  Score card Posted by: AIL I'm rather proud to say this extensive finale was put up, in full, a month after the roleplay deadline. I'm going to see if I can get future Finales up even quicker, but no promises! I got a friend of mine named Kat to do the vote for us this time. She runs an e-wrestling federation known as Blood Alliance Championship Wrestling. I've known her a while and put a good deal of trust into her judgment. I'll include a few lines from her on each player character for this, to give you an idea of what she thought. If you're interested in getting her full opinions on your character, kmail me and we'll discuss it. I'll most likely be willing to release her full comments on you within reason. (She gave permission for this.) This was a killer mission for reasons listed elsewhere already.. more handlers in a single mission than ever.. more roleplays in a single mission than ever.. a debut, and a 'solo' debut.. Plus this's the mission we signed on CrabJesus, who'll hopefully be on the boards soon. Plus, we 'retired' some inactives this mission. See the Rollover and Finale for details on who.... Onwards to the vote! The winner of the mission, gaining 20 points is... Catrina! Kat commented, "I think there is one person who obviously worked the hardest to achieve that effect this time around." She also complimented Catrina's style, saying at one point, "I like the way that Catrina is integrated into the mission but at the same time can easily be seen as her own person." Coming in second.. making his debut on the roleplay boards this mission! - Samus XTreme! Kat was quick to point out she liked the character, and added, "Very creative, especially with the sidekick, and also very humorous- good use of the stuff in game to flesh out story bits." Great job, Shamus! Continuing.. we had a couple of characters tie for third place, just one point behind Shamus. On my character (Dash), Kat's thoughts were, "Sebastian is fun throughout, I think. The writing is humorous and well done." Tying with him, well.. here's Kat's full comments on it! "Feena- I like Feena. She's quirky, she has a unique role in the group. I like that we get a little character development for her as the story goes on. The Amras storyline has me very interested in where she's going from here." Rounding things out at the bottom of the list are Riko, Vixen, and Raw Hide... She complimented Riko.. "I like the way that Riko is integrated into the story with the current characters, and also enjoy the creativity of her background." But Kat also mentioned, "Riko does seem a little bit awkward in places, in that it's harder to get into her character than it is into some of the others." (There was a similar mention on Dash being hard to get into.) "Vixen is very interesting as well. Again, there's some good character development here of a character that sort of starts off seeming like there's not going to be much to her," noted Kat, adding that her interest "is motivated by being interested in her quirky, original personality." Finally, on Raw Hide.. "I like the way that the character's voice comes through very clearly in the narration." She also mentioned "I really don't know anything about this character, or why he might be interested in going on this mission, and after the RP, I still don't know any more." This was likely affected by the fact Raw never got a second roleplay up, due to his handler's real life obligations.. pity! The characters who weren't as involved with the overall story (Raw, Shamus, and to a lesser degree due to her co writes, Vixen) tended to be seen and marked as such.. Overall, however, I think we did an excellent job, and I hope we can keep up the activity from here on out, continuing to get our current players improving, even as we (hopefully) add new characters to the game. On AIL as a whole, she commented, "One thing that I have greatly enjoyed in this reading is how so many characters are connected to one another, and how so many different stories work together to create a coherent storyline."
