UNDEAD: Aleena's Debut
Mission:  End of the Heroic Age: Fallout

By Aleena
Original Prologue

I remember helping with this one a bit.

Anyway, although Truss has yet to debut (The handler debut with an unrelated character in a Live RP during the next mission), Aleena makes her mark on AIL. Here's her debut.

A small sleek ship appeared as it wobbled its way out of hyperspace. Its pilot, her visage hidden in a helmet, fought with another female who was suited similarly. Their battle of fluid kicks, punches and rapid-pace neural-hacking untamed flowed gracefully, yet silent and deadly. The ship's interior was comfortably appointed, yet all was a mess. Silks that would drape along the walls and comfortable chairs were torn from their mountings and strewn about the cabin. The damage looked worse than it was; devices and trinkets were cast about as if through storm. Truss had thought to overtake Aleena by hacking the ship's environmental controls and venting the atmosphere to space. The uniquely clad elves wore form-fitting suits as beautiful as they were functional; they were protected not only from the vacuum of space, but also allowed them to sail their ships through the stars with their minds. Yet their ship careened towards a small blue-green world, ion thrusters working red-hot to dump enough velocity to enter the atmosphere safely. The ship's interior held no consoles, no angry red lights announced the impending doom of the two occupants, yet both could sense an artificial voice: "Attempting to avoid collision course."

The voice made no noise; it communicated solely into the minds of the two elves. Their suits conveyed all of the information needed to pilot the ship to their minds, and as they struggled to wrest control of the ship away from the other, the unknown world loomed and its surface rushed eagerly to meet them.

"Calculating... calculating... avoidance impossible," said the autopilot. With flight control so tenuous from the fighting elves, the computer decided that their ideas were more like suggestions and took matters into its own hands to ensure their survival. "Plotting course to maximize survival odds."

The shuttle fell through the atmosphere with the intense friction of re-entry melting the thrusters to slag. True to its words, the ship had found a way to maximize survival odds. The ceiling exploded and the sudden force of air pressure pulled the two elves violently from the ship. The much smaller and lighter elves tumble through the air for a few moments, slowing quickly to their terminal velocity. Almost simultaneously, they both issue rapid commands to their respective suits, forcing the nanites to assume the shape of great feathery wings. Part of the suits seemed to dissolve around their bodies, but it was really moving itself to form the wings and similar harnesses around their bodies, giving the two the ability to fly- or at least slow their descent towards the waters. The wings filled quickly with air as Aleena and Truss dove towards each other; the two were far enough into the skies to give them time to focus on combat, rather than controlling their descent.

"Give it up, Truss! You can't win," screamed Aleena.

"I'm not going back, I'll not!" cried Truss in response.

They collided at great speed like a peal of thunder as their helmets struck each other. The styles the two fought were similar in some ways. serious, focused, grabbing to control one another's bodies and swinging punches enhanced into devastating force by the very suits that absorbed most of the impact of the attacks. The way they fought, it was quite obvious they anticipated one another's moves. Ultimately, they entangled each other, legs entwined as they tumble toward the waters still below the elves.

Far below, the helplessly tumbling ship slams into the ocean as far above, two sublime figures tangling in the sky, grabbing each other's arms, wings and bodies. They realized as they approached the water they had no more time to fight for control. Aleena and Truss took their final blows at each other, then kicked away at each other's bodies, sending them in opposite directions, towards a part of the story that will be told in our upcoming Live RP session.

At least.. Aleena's half.

A nice little piece. It was originally going to be in the Live RP, but the styles didn't quite mesh, and we felt it was strong enough to stand on its own.
Her 'true' debut is the Live RP though, coming up soon.
