Mission: End of the Heroic Age: Fallout subtitle: Written by Shadow and Konall By Shadow and Konall Original Co Write
So this's Shadow's only AIL appearence so far. It's a co write, too.
It's more like a Konall roleplay, I think. Not that that's bad by any means.

Shadow looked back over what was left of Seaside Town from a rise a mile outside the city. He hadn't seen it since he'd abandoned his post during the battle with the goblin army and fled for his life. A lot of the city still stood, but much of it was blackened by fire or just destroyed in the battle. Part of the city was infested with goblins and it looked like the middle had some sort of zmobies running rampant in it. No, on closer inspection they appeared correctly spelled. Sneaking his way into town, Shadow attempted to maintain as little of a presence as possible. Working his way through the streets, he enters a building, long abandoned it seems by its previous owners. Peering through the window, he sees several zombies walking around, cringing at the thought as to what the hell is going on around here. Like a shadow, he works his way around them with ease, attempting to find some kind of intelligent life form, preferably one that wouldn't gnaw his leg off. Instead, he comes across Konall. The big man stands seven feet tall, clad in hardened furs that look like they can take a lot of blows. He carries a massive combination warhammer and axe called a haxxor, but that's strapped to his back. In his hands he carries a longsword and a round shield. Towering over Shadow, he approaches the man in attempt to make cont some conversation and some info as to what the hell is going on. Shadow walks up to him with his hand in the air as a friendly and non-undead gesture. "Salutations and well met Man of the North. Friends call me Shadow, do you mind as to fill me in on whats going on?" The moving wall of meat stops for a moment, "He doesn't look dead," the Viking says. "Whose side are you on?" Shadow stops in his tracks, for fear of being cut down by the giant. Standing only at 5 feet, he has to look almost to the sky just to talk to the man in the face. "I am currently on no ones side, as I was a soldier in the KOKOL, but fled when the tides of battle shifted against us." The Viking sized him up. "Good enough. I'm usually on my own side as well. Name is Konall, and my pet imp, if he shows his face, is Spaz. I need a sneaky guy to help me out with the scouting. My last sneak, Max, had to leave. Something about saving some innocents or something." Shadow chuckles at him, "Having trouble sneaking around eh? Alright, just fill me in on whats going on when we leave and I will be your eyes and ears, as I am greatly accustomed to the night." Konall gives him a brief rundown of the battle and the undead being raised against the city. If Becky was doing it, it would have involved crayon drawings and lots of laughing, but she wasn't so it didn't. Shadow leans against a wall of a nearby house, shocked from everything that has happened. Rubbing his bearded face, he looks up at the sky and asks out loud: "Where have I been all this time?" "Hiding?" said the voice of a nearby imp. "Maybe in the bathroom? Ooh, maybe you were captured by pirates, flying pirates, and they took you to the distant shores of Guadapichatan where their alien friends used mind magics to make you forget the whole thing. Hey, is that someone's wallet?" Shadow looks around a little confused and bewildered, looking to Konall: "That your imp friend I take it?" "Yeah." Spitting on the ground in disgust, Shadow walks away, looking over his shoulder to the Man of the North: "Lets go, I will show you how to get outta here." "Out of here?" the Viking roared. "Why would I want to leave. There's stuff to kill everywhere, and I'm here to kill it. The undead of course, not you. I need someone to lead me to their hordes so I can unleash some ˜hammer therapy' on their faces. So far it's been 100% effective at curing the undead part." Only able to sigh and roll his eyes ever so slightly he leaps on top of a barrel and begins scaling a small house. Reaching the top, he crawls on top of the roof getting a good view of a horde of zombies in the town square. Working his way back to the ground he points towards the town square: "There seems to be a gathering over there, a few torches or something...Maybe the cult of all of this? But you wanted zombies so there they are." Konall calls out "Thanks for helping me out. II'll forge you some new weapons. A warrior like you could use some new gear." "We'd really appreciate your help," said Spaz. "He's been wandering in circles for the last three hours." "I have not! And besides, all these burnt-out buildings look the same. Anyway, let's take a look at that cult. I could use some variety." Chuckling softly, Shadow hears a mighty roar from the town square, looking to his new companions "Well, looks like we've pissed em off... I am pretty sure the biggest amount of zombies is at the keep." "Follow me!" Shadow says has he takes off towards town square with bow in hand. Running down several paths, and making sharp turn he shows them the way. "There you go, zombies and cultist delight!" Konall follows, managing to only plow through a single dilapidated wall going around the sharp corners and trying to run as fast as he can. Shadow calls them to a halt when he reaches the point where he knows the cultists are just the next block over.
Holding out his hand in an attempt to tell them to stop sounding like boulders, Shadow disappears before their very eyes. Creeping his way to the cult, Shadow notices the cults colors on a banner, and over hears some of what the priest says. "We shall take this world as our own, a new order of the Undead shall once again rule this plane!!"
The last line was interesting but since Shadow didn't get to show up anymore this mission, it didn't really go anywhere. Still, a strong little piece. Next up is a piece by Becky and Awakensun.

In other words, I don't own KOL, or KOKOL, and KOL doesn't own KOL. Get it? Good! ! |
