Mission: The Third Faction
MISSION INFORMATION
Change sweeps over the Loathing Kingdom with the creation of a third major faction
teaser

MISSION INFO

-------------
With only eight pieces total thanks mostly due to a three week or so period for roleplaying, there isn't a lot to say here. I also changed up the index page, as you've probably seen, to reflect the diversification of three clans here (with the possibility of more in the future).

Pieces missing notes:

Awakensun, Sir Fumblies, Konall and Zed

Aleena, Cyber Sunset and Dash's final co write

I've been thinking about the mission notes for a few days, thus the delay on it. Sorry.

I also wanted to get the Feline Empire response up! The Felines are going try to manipulate the Penguins into 'testing' the outpost. (Catt and Becky should be leading that.) Meanwhile, Jester King of Beasts is instructed head down to the outpost to raise trouble on his own. Well, he makes it clear he's going to take allies with him. This is a good chance if you want to use the Elite 7, outside of Cattaras, as anyone is free to use those who remain! I'll try to write up a list of them and reply to this post later.

The Feline Empire aren't flat out attacking the Outpost initially, but the idea of them resorting to threats and violence isn't out of hand. Basically, we want them to take an adversarial position if possible.

KOKOL would, of course, respond to this and other threats by trying to deal with the outpost, diplomatically. They won't flat out say it, of course, but the idea is they want the outpost under their thumb. Well, in their mind, they want an alliance fair to both (but more fair to KOKOL if possible).

The outpost, of course, simply wants to survive, fight off intruders, physical or otherwise, and secure the base. Right now, we seem set to end up with at least one or two new members to the faction, with hopefully more in this and future missions.

All three factions will have to worry about the slavers and Penguin Mafia. Contact me or post on the out of character boards if you need more information, or ad lib if you must. This is in addition to any regular threats you would face in Degrassi territory, or wherever your roleplay takes place.

KOKOL and the Feline Empire both give serious priority to the slavers as a threat, aside from each other. Neither are terribly concerned with the Penguins, although the Third Faction would consider them the bigger threat here.

While the Penguin Mafia stay to their mafia roots, the slavers' methods can be just as subtle, but they're more brutal. We'll hopefully explore their methods and goals soon. Feel free to use either as you see fit, or neither if you don't

Aleena and Zed's only co-write - archive copy

Payments due - Debut of Zed S., feat. Aleena
(roleplay notes)

This was a fun piece to write up - major kudos to Aleena and Wilde for assistance in editing and the content! This is my debut piece of Zed Shinestone, a newly arrived adventurer who I hope to polish with every new writeup. In this debut piece, I tried to show what sort of person Zed is and how he tends to live his life.

We start off with Zed in the middle of a night hunt, looking to bag a boar as payment for people who helped him get settled at the Degrassi outpost. He's interrupted quickly by Aleena's transition back to KoL, who is of course a shock to the new guy, what with a form-fitting cysuit, and her alien helmet (small quote - 'its face bore six glowing red eyes arranged in two vertical lines'). After introducing themselves, and reorienting Aleena, Zed and Aleena return to Zed's campsite for some grub and some chatting.

Aleena quickly compares Zed's pheromone ability to a certain Kwadlin, and surprises Zed with some aggressive interrogating. Zed at first gets the very wrong idea of what's going on, and is pointedly corrected by Aleena's wristblade; which fails to deter Zed's mindset... Finally, having convinced Aleena that he's not in league with the Philler gang, Zed is compensated for the misunderstanding in a very Aleena fashion. At the end we note that some like it rough...

Becky, Cattaras and Kadlin's only co write - archive copy

Roleplay notes for the second RP!

Catrina confronts Kadlin, who refused to come up when summoned to give an opinion on the outpost situation. The two argued, with Kadlin faking politeness, but making it clear she's tired of being bossed around. Catrina makes her displeasure clear in a very direct manner.

Kadlin's opinion on the outpost situation? Let Konall fight it out with the Penguins, and beat up the losing side. (She thinks Konall has a legitimate shot at fighting them off.)

Catrina and the others leave. Catrina decides to send Becky and Cattaras to stir the Penguin Mafia into attacking the outpost. Becky actually thinks they're doing it as a favor to the outpost by "testing their defenses." Poor silly girl.

Unheard by the other Felines, Catrina also orders Jester King of Beasts down to raise havoc in his own particular way. Note that is he free for any AIL player use if you feel a need to use him. He'll be sent out to make trouble for the new faction... and he made it clear he's going to bring help to do so. I'd love to see the Jester King get some use in an adversarial role. Just remember: he's a powerful force on his own, capable of handling even multiple PC's and potentially winning.

No mention was made of the slavers, however. They could prove to be the real problem here.

Cyber Sunset and Dash's only co write - archive copy

Roleplay Notes for Cold, Cold Mountain.

Dash and CS are teleported from the alternate universe, both wounded and disoriented (and both at different places on the mountain.) Dash is set upon by some easily dispatched goats, but Cyber Sunset encounters a significantly nastier Yeti.

Not up to a teleportation, CS needs Dash to find him (after CS and the Yeti's fight causes an avalanche.) Together, the Yeti caves in almost immediately and the two begin carefully winding their way down the mountain.

Aleena, Cyber Sunset and Dash's first of two - archive copy

Notes for the latest

Coming off the events in the Rollover, Aleena informs Dash it's time for her to try to extract her ship from the ocean it crashed in during her debut. Dash reluctantly agrees.

The two secure promises of assistance from Cyber Sunset, who is busy repairing his army. Since MTiger isn't available, Dash talks to Blahking, who promises to do what he can to help.

He also asks Sebastian to speak to Konall on behalf of the Kingdom, hoping to negotiate something between KOKOL and Konall. Presumably something favorable to KOKOL.

Dash promises to "mention it." Blahking requests Dash be sure Konall is receptive to the offer.

We had a couple smaller pieces with similar themes for the next two stories.

"Aleena/ Kadline" sees Kadlin show up to offer Aleena some explosives to give Aleena as a "going away" present. Emphasis on "going." She makes it clear in very cold terms she's happy to see Aleena planning to leave, feeling Aleena used her brother. She also threatens Aleena, should the two meet at the outpost.

Meanwhile, Konall is packing up his few possessions from the Kingdom. Dash arrives to express his regret for the situation with Dash and Aleena, but Konall isn't really paying attention. Dash asks about the outpost and Feline Empire involvement. Konall promises to do whatever it takes to defend the outpost- and to come up with a better name than "The Third faction," as some KOKOL'ers have been calling it.

Updated for The THIRD FACTION!

It took longer to finish than I hoped, but we can now consider "The Third Faction" mission to be over! Congratulations to all involved! It was an excellent start for our newest faction. Matter of fact, they were the top ranked of the three factions.

As such, the Third Faction retain control of the Outpost. KOKOL came in a close second while Feline Empire didn't do nearly as well during the mission. Votes by Ichiro, our long time voter.

Holiday mission is next!

Mission results!

This was a tough mission for our voter. He stated any of the top five ranked players could have fairly been ranked top player but in the end, Cyber Sunset wins it and takes ten points! His co write with Dash at the mountain was our voter's second favorite piece of the mission. Voter Ichiro felt he earned his ten points by more growth and been in more piece than any other time I have seen him. And showing a little weakness, really for the first time ever.

Zed takes second with 9 points! He helped Aleena kick start the mission in what Ichiro called a "solid, if meandering intro." He also contributed to the big Third Faction piece which Ichiro called his favorite of the week. Congratulations on a solid debut!

8 points go to Konall Bearsmasher! Character growth won Konall the last mission and gives him third place here. Or as the voter put it, "Konall continues to be a growing, changing character, getting older and wiser as things happen to him." Another solid performance, though.

Typing for forth place (7 points each), Sebastian Dash and Aleena again rocked the house! The voter comment says a lot. "Only this low because I can’t just give five people 10 points. Anyone of (the) top billers could have been in the 10 point slot and I would have been happy."

What might be Aleena's last mission (but I hope she contributes to the next mission to say goodbye properly) saw her contribute to two co writes with Dash and Sunset. She also pulled off co writes with Kadlin and Zed, the last of which was a sexy lil number, so to speak. Dash, meanwhile, got a piece with Konall to mirror the Kadlin/ Aleena bit, plus the second-fav piece at the mountains with Sunset.

Next up is another tie. 6 points gets them sixth place! Sir Fumblies taps the mission in the best co write of the mission. Kadlin earns her way in by contributing to the Feline Empire response, where she was the driving force. She also got her piece with Aleena. Her heavier and well written participation helps her outrank the rest of the bunch. She also brought the conflict, so extra credit for that!

Next up, Gail gets five points and seventh place. Finally, Awakensun (Gail) is back! She participated in the best RP of the week, giving much needed levity.

Last place (4 points) has Becky Joy tied with Cattaras Whiteclaw. They were in the Feline Empire roleplay. Becky added her silly brand of humor, much like Awakensun did for the Feline Empire. Still, the two have the potential to be major players in future missions.

RANKINGS SO FAR

Almost no movement, partly due to the fact it was a mini mission for ten points, but here's how things shake up.

# 1) Sebastian Dash: 88 points. Dash's lead slips slightly as Konall gains on him by a few points.
# 2) Aleena: 82 points, keeping a strong second by tying with Dash.
# 3) Becky Joy: 75 points. Due to her weak performance, Fumblies gains on her significantly.
# 4) Sir Fumblies: 73 points. Due to a strong performance, he's gaining on Becky and is outpacing Cattaras in progress easily.
# 5) Cattaras Whiteclaw: 55 points. Not a strong mission for the big cat, but he's still ranked number five.

# 6) Konall Bearsmasher: 48 points. Gains a bit here by ranking higher than Aleena or Dash.
# 7) Cyber Sunset: 43 points. Sunset jumps up two spots. Winning the mission gives the Honorburg hero the only rank jump in the mission other than the debuts jumping in.
# 8) Todd Blackpaws: 39 points. This mission had no Todd. *Frowns*
# 9) Ozzie Whelk: 35 points. Also no Ozzie.
# 10) Fahari: 32 points. Also no.. you get the picture.

# 11) Kadlin Bearsmasher: 31 points. She can do better, and I'm expecting her to for the next mission.
# 12) Sassy Snake: 20 points. Sassy Sassy Sassy! Will we see her for the holidays? I hope so, or is she in her own dimension still?
# 13) Zanther Wolf: 16 points. Wolf, where are ya, buddy? We miss you!
# 14) (tie) Vixen: 11 points. Vixen was last seen being evil in another dimension, but her 'master' is set for the next mission. Is she?
# 14) (tie) 11- Xodus. Will we see Xodus anymore?

# 16) Dios: 10 points. Dios seems to be long gone due to RL issues.
# 17) (tie) Samus X-Treme: 9 points. Shamus, I don't know why he's gone.
# 17 (tie) Zed Shinestone. 9 points. Congratulations on a powerful debut, which ties you with a few other people! You should be able to pull up in future missions.
# 17) (tie) Summer. 9 points. Summer and Wildfall were inactive after a nice debut.
# 17) (tie) 9- Wildfall. Still, we might see Wildfall and her in the future!
# 21) Awakensun (Gail). 5 points. She makes her return! Well done, girl!
# 22) Werevamp: 2 points. Gone after a single cameo in the interum mission.
#23) (tie) Amrus. 1 point. From the interim mission.
#23) (tie) Lapine. 1 point. From the interim mission.

And there we have it! The holiday mission is next, along with a special post on the Elite.. eight?! Stay tuned.
