Plan B
Mission:  The Six's Sinister Hunt
subtitle: (Sorry, but the festering hellhole known as Tappatalks doesn't support- and deletes - all subtitles from topics.)

Wildfall and Mary not only kick things off but dominate "early" roleplaying - "early" referring to the time before AIL up and died and all activity stopped.

This starts, as you'll see, directly from the Rollover itself.

Plan B.

"Run like Hey Daze and don't look back."

It wasn't a plan Mary was used to, but it made sense considering what happened. The fight looked even enough when they had Koumori and Iris on their side against Baron von Ratsworth, the Boss Bat and that plant controlling stranger. Problem is, a giant had shown up and swept away both Koumori and Iris, leaving Mary and Wildfall on their own.

So Wildfall took her by the hand and the two started to run. Unfortunately, the enemies didn't seem too interested in allowing an easy escape. As Wildfall and Mary tried to run, they felt plants suddenly growing at their feet, trying to trip them up and trap them. Wildfall pulled Mary up short as a rather large beanstalk sprung up in front of them, nearly smashing into them. As they avoided that, Mary took a punch at a giant sunflower that sprung up next to them. Successfully knocked out, it withered and died. Mary took a swing at another one and missed. As the sunflower reached for her, Mary grabbed her knife and sliced through the sunflower.

"Keep that thing handy!" Wildfall yelled out, jumping back to avoid the vines on the ground that were spitting at him. "I think I messed up already."

"What? You mess up? You never mess up," Mary yelled back as she hacked away at the spitting vines.

"Well, I messed up this time," Wildfall said, finding his own weapon- a wooden shillelagh, a little less useful than a tool that could cut. "We started towards the desert, but it's way too open. We gotta find a way to get back and get lost in the town if we got a chance of shaking them."

"Well lead the way and I'll be covering you backside," Mary told him, still chopping the vines.

It proved quite tricky to find an opening, but once he did, Wildfall yelled for Mary to run as fast as they could, pointing towards an open spot in town, with Wildfall hoping he'd gotten a good sense of the town and wasn't about to lead them into a dead-end back alley. Still, it beat waiting in the desert until their enemies surrounded them.

Unfortunately, as they ran, a vine managed to spring up at just the right moment to trip up Wildfall, sending him down.

Seeing her Wildfall on the ground made her angry, so she pulled out her machete and chopped up the vine as she helped him to his feet. That being accomplished, and Wildfall back on his feet, they were suddenly attacked by a swarm of bats that caused them to have to duck and split up briefly.

Wildfall slipped a pair of solid oak 'brass' knuckles over his right hand, swinging with his weapon of choice with his left. The southpaw took down a couple of bats easy. Wildfall ducked back. "Fight defensively and move, kid! I mean. . . . honey."

Mary's hands instinctively moved up to guard her face and eyes and seeing an opening she grabbed Wildfall, yelling, "Run and head for town!" as she took off dragging Wildfall with her.

"What?" Wildfall asked, startled. "Trying to outrun bats? Worth a shot, I guess."

They took off full speed and actually got pretty close to town before the bats got in front of them, cutting them off.

"Go straight through them?" Wildfall asked, ready to beat on a few bats.

Mary, seeing they were cut off, started doing what she does best. Beating up anything that got in her way. Punching the bats as hard as she could, she yelled, "There's too many of them! We're not going to make it."

Wildfall took a few more bats down and turned to Mary, clearly trying to stay calm for her sake as much as his. "We don't have to, just get by them. Trust me, they always look like there's more than there really are. Their bark is worse than- er.. their screeching is worse than their bite."

"Easy for you to say. Obviously you don't remember your last encounter with the bats," Mary replied.

"Trust me," Wildfall complained. "I remember way too well. What choice do we got though?"

"You find an opening, run and get some help from one of the tents and I'll fight them till you return. After all you said it always looks like there are more than there really are," Mary yelled as she took down another bat. She stood battle ready, knife in one hand and machete in the other, swinging at any bat who got near her.

"Better idea," Wildfall said. "Focus on the spot I'm fighting, we break through and run together, cause there is no way I'm leaving you. I'd rather we die first! Actually, I'd rather we both get to town."

Mary snickered a bit, took another bat down and replied, "I agree. This is not a good day to die."

It took a few more minutes of fighting but they were able to pull themselves free and dart towards town. Wildfall glanced back, trying to tell if any other enemies were following but it was too hard to tell with the swarm of bats.

They ducked down the alley and dodged around a corner, desperately trying to find something to hide behind. Wildfall and Mary looked at each other and, with a shrug, dove behind a pair of trash cans, hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

As you can see, Wildfall and Mary Kate are in all kinds of trouble, but they never give up!

At least on surviving. They go through a nice variety of stories in this mission, like usual. Things only get more dangerous in the next co-write, too! Check it out!
