War had come to Seaside Town and that poor Becky Joy, she was in over her head! Things were going pretty good, she guessed. She was givin' out juice and pies as a part of a contest, then suddenly, the nasty mean Knob Goblins were attacking! And Zanther Wolf, her winged wolf and best buddy, saw the crowd was in trouble, so he just went up and dove right on in! Becky didn't know what to do! Sure, she had her magic, but she didn't like to fight. No, not at all! She wanted to help Wolf, but when she moved towards him, one of the stupid Elite 7 shoved her aside! Becky fell down hard, skinning her knees, and whined a bit when she got up. But there wasn't time for whining, she had to help Wolf! But wow.. there were just sooo many people out there! Becky looked over and frowned as she realized her pies and drinks were gonna just get smashed up. She kinda wanted to go save them but she realized she had more important things to do. The poor people in Seaside Town needed her help, and those stupid Knob Goblins needed someone to tell them to knock it off. Becky hopped down off the podium and strolled up to a Knob Goblin. "Hey, you, stop invading our town!" But the Knob Goblin just shoved her down to the ground. Becky pouted more, but she got up and yelled, "I said knock it off, you!" Another one threw something at her but she ducked. "You're makin' every-1's sad!" she insisted. "That's the idea, moron!" One of the Knobs took notice of her and turned towards her, ready to do some real violence. "This isn't fun," she whined. She didn't know what to do! She then heard a lilting tune that lifted her heart and steeled her resolve, along with a voice in her ear. The song simultaneously laid unconscious the Knob Goblin who'd thought to attack her. "Fun? Perhaps not. But the key to a good fight is making sure that the other guy has less fun than you do, miss. And from lookin at these creeps, they're having a ball here!" "I don't know what to do!" Becky said. "Cause they don't wanna play with us. Someone should make them go away so I can get my Wolfie!" The fox grinned toothily. "Yeah, I saw him jump into the middle of the worst of it. Typical machisma in action. Me- I prefer to sit back and play my little songs and make sure everone's happy. Like you, hon." His tune changed, and Becky felt her mind clear and her focus grow on the task at hand. "You don't even have to get your hands dirty to help your friend, babe. Just sit back, look sexy and devastate these chumps with your charms- and your spells!" She then saw some poor girl being bullied by a Knob Goblin, and gritted her teeth. "Yeah, I'm gonna use my spells! They're gonna be sad they didn't play nice!" Becky grabbed the bag she was carrying around.. you know the sealskin one that we didn't mention before? And she pulled out two items. A small blue mace that smelled like mint and gave off a palatable chill, and something that looked like a toy yeti. As she clutched it in her hand, it gave off a chill in the air! Todd chuckled as he saw the doll. "Cute," he muttered to himself but not loudly. He knew a focus when he saw it and knew better than to divert the girl's attention away from the fight for such a small thing. "All right love. Show me what you can do!" Another change of tune- and Becky could feel her energies surging. "It's gonna be cool!" Becky said, not really meaning a pun. She held up the ice mace in one hand, and she just thought really hard! She focused her inner magic through the doll, which let out a little "poof" sound, and Becky blasted a beam of ice directly at the Knob Goblins! It sent 'em flying back from the girl, who remained unharmed but horribly afraid! Another change, a tune of uplift and recovery. "That's it cutie! Tell 'em all to take a chill pill!" Standing behind her, as he was, his eyes began to wander... she really was a cutie.... "You're gonna all get it!" Becky felt the energies surging through her, and his music was really really good. She froze the Knob Goblins in their place when they rushed at her. "Every 1's, you gotta get outta here so we can fight!" Not that she had to say it; the crowd was trying to get out desperately. It was on the verge of being a mob scene. "Ummm, singer person, we gotta make everyone relax. They're gonna hurt each other, and I don't want anyone to get hurt and, and and.." "mmm.. Hm? What..Oh! oh yes, love let me..." Another change- calming and uplifting of the spirit, supportive of the crowd's inner peace. His face flushed and he nearly kicked himself for losing his train of thought up that... He then chuckled... nice place to get lost, though... Becky giggled and kept fighting. The Knob Goblin got too close to her and grabbed her doll, so she nailed him in the side, then slammed the ice mace over his head, leaving him unconscious and bleeding a bit, but otherwise alive. Todd ducked his own attacker and gave him a quick kick to the googlies that sent him down for a moment. He grabbed at the girls hand and pulled, "Doll, I think it's time we blew this gig!" "But we gotta help every 1's!" Becky protested. She threw another ice spell and the Knob Goblins started to panic. "To help them, we've got to keep our tails out of the meat grinder, love!" Todd kept pulling her along. "Tails? Huh?" Then she turned and finally saw Todd. She just shouted, "Ohh, a foxie!" and ran up hugging him like a girl might a new favorite toy. Todd yipped as he was grabbed and hugged. Fighting the gallant reflex as he felt that this girl was much more than just 'cute'. "Um.. heh. yeah. Love we may want to save the playtime until we get safe?" "Oh, I wanna play hopscotch!" Becky turned and blasted a Knob Goblin private soldier. "And skip da loo!" She froze another two in their place. "And color too?!" Todd chuckled. "We get out of this doll and I'll let you play lots of games!" "Yay!" Becky shouted and giggled! Todd looked around. This would be as good a spot as any to work from. "Alright cutie. From here we can do our things while the people better suited to taking the hits take them for us." His eyes scanned the battlefield- seeing the various heroes and their battles as he planned his concert- only to have all thought freeze as he spied Catrina and Cattaras. "Ooo.. beautiful naked p-" "Hay, look at this!" Becky called out, grabbing Todd by the arm. When he reluctantly turned towards her, she held a big, oddly decorated box in front of her. "It's a box! It talks!" Todd whimpered and tore his eyes away from the feline and looked where Becky pointed. He cocked his head to the side a bit, listening for the box to 'talk'. "Didjya hear it?!" Becky asked, enthusiastically. "I..." Todd started to strain to hear anything- anything that the box was saying and thought maybe he was beginning to hear when he caught a glimpse of a pair of Knob Goblins heading their way. "We can't play right now kitten; we've work to do!" With that he began to play- an oldie but a goodie, As he lifted the first notes of the Psalm of Pointyness to the heavens the gobs staggered back, but then resumed their charge. "Persistent little buggers" Todd mumbled as he switched to A more mojoistic Magical Mojomuscular Melody for the benefit of Becky and any other spell slingers in the area. "But you're playin.. oh okay." Becky decided she better listen to Todd. He knew best, she knew that for sure! She and Todd continued to combat the Knob Goblins together, knowing there would be many, many tough moments ahead. The battle raged on ward around them, and soon it felt to Todd as if his throat was about to crack and his fingers bleed. At one point he looked around, hoping to catch another glimpse of the naked goddess Catrina- only to be repelled by the sight of Konall instead (Although the big brute was thankfully more fully dressed.) Becky kept slinging ice spells and attacking with her ice mace, but it felt like a lost cause.. like tryin' to make her eat peas was a lost cause! Todd looked at the girl, knowing that if he felt half dead she must feel like a zmobie! He felt sorry for her, so obviously pushed into something beyond what she deserved. He needed to help her- and the others to survive. He knew he didn't have much left in him so he pulled out everything he had and began a song. It was a special song of his own devising, meant to buoy the hearts of his friends and dash the hopes of his foes. He sang, his voice cracking at first but then gaining strength and volume. "I'm'a gettin' dizzy!" Becky complained. "I'm just a dizzy Becky girl!" "A little longer, love, and we can rest. Just hold together. I know you can do it; you've done great so far." Todd smiled. "I try!" She said, drawing strength from his confidence. "Big Becky girl, big Becky girl," she mumbled to herself. "Uhho, I think I smell fire!" Todd looked around and his head drooped at what he saw. "Fire mages- they're setting the Market ablaze!" "Hehe!" Becky giggled. "No wait, that's bad." "Very." Todd frowned. "Okay babe, time for a change in strategy. The big bruiser heroes'll be too busy to worry but somebody's gotta see about makin' sure the innocents can get out." "Umm, like the bugbear baker?" Becky asked? “And the Market Demon, and that llama thingie, and all the little girls, and..." Todd chuckled as she started making a list. "Sure hon, sure. All of those- especially the cute little girlies- like you." She giggled! "Okay, you're the boss! We gotta be heroes!" Then she rushed off towards the Knob Goblin mages sayin, "You gotta stop that right now!" Todd grabbed for Becky quickly- but gently. "Nonono! We don't take them on! That's for the bigger, stupid guys to do! It's up to the little smart heroes like you and me to see that no one gets hurt that ain't supposed to be!" "Yup, we're smart," Becky said. "Okay!" Then she waited for him to lead while she thought about how smart she was. So before ya know it, they're grabbing panicked citizens and helping them stay calm, thanks to a calming song from Todd, and happy, via Becky's magical personality. Fortunately, the two are able to fight off most Knob Goblin minor threats. The fire mages don't seem to notice anything other than the spells they seem busy conjuring up! Todd smiled as he urged the people onward. "All right, ladies and gentlemen! Follow the fox and her fox!" "What's going on?!" one confused citizen cried out. "We is savin you!" Becky proudly declared. "That's right people so step right this way if you want to be saved!" He grinned, while Todd started to think how it was going to be a fun time at the Judge later. The tales would be tellin' themselves!
Eep fire mages! Again, I quite like how the smooth, suave Blackpaws plays of the innocent and cute charm of Becky. Their abilities make them work well together, as well. There's only one more piece before the Mission Finale. Shamus X.. is up next!
