Rollover
Subtitle: The first wave of war starts here!
Mission:  War in Seaside Town
By Dash

Original Rollover

Rollover.. where the whole story of the mission starts. Although this one isn't quite a fresh start. The very last bit of the previous mission leads directly into this one.

It's fairly short and to the point, but it does establish where a few of our players are during the war, leaving it up to them to decide how to proceed.

The scene: Seaside Town. The story so far: Short version. After winning back to back 'contests' in an attempt to curry the favor, the final member of the Council of Loathing, the Nice Sorceress, had promised the Kingdom of KOL full support in their request to wage war on the evil, dangerous Knob Goblins. The very next moment, the half dragon succubus, Nipha, had supported several of her fellow Elite Seven, onto the stage, along with the Knob Goblin king himself. Amras shot the Nice Sorceress with a poisoned throwing star, the Goblin King stated he was taking the first strike in the war, and his Elite Seven attacked.

The Long version? Read the last mission, ya stupid hippie!

Chaos rang out throughout the podium. Some stood to stay, while most of those watching fled. Becky Joy cowered behind Zanther Wolf, not knowing what to do. Sebastian Dash, Blahking, the Council Friends, and Zanther Wolf all looked ready to fight, so Becky decided she would help if she could!

"Fight, my allies! Council, get word out! We need to drive the Elite Seven away from the Market Square, before they establish a foothold!" Blahking cried out. The Messenger took about leading his small army of k-mailmen and runners to spreading the word around the town!

Higgy, Guacanator and whatever other members of the Winking Judge debated if they would help the KOKOL and the Council in this matter.

Elsewhere, Catrina heard the sounds of battle and turned to rush the stage, only to be attacked by her sibling and rival Cattaras. The two went down, growling with hate and clawing each other's fur and clothes.

Todd Blackpaws, Vixen and Lapine had gotten separated in attacks by Knob Goblin minions, and were in the crowd, each one trying to keep from being surrounded.

Finally, Shamus arrogantly taunted his opponent, who stood a good eight feet away. "Heh.. did you get lost on the way to The Wrong Side of the Street, you stupid ra- URGH!"

He didn't finish. Why? Within the blink of Inu's eyes, the ratlike Stewart had crossed the span of eight feet, and dropped Shamus XTreme with a vicious backhand slap! "Stewie don't LIKE no part of this stinkin' town, but we gonna take it over, anyway!"

Indeed, chaos was breaking out all around Seaside Town as secret agents and small invasion forces poured into Seaside Town, with one order; victory at all costs. The main forces were half a mile and a half away since the King hadn't wanted to alert Seaside Town of the invasion. But they, too, slowly started approaching the town...

Let's see what we can do in the War against the Knob Goblins!

(See Notes for further details as always.)

Links have been reformatted to direct to the archive website. (Notes directs you to spoiler section since that's where they're archived at. I'd suggest reading the whole mission before you get them.)

The first three up are an AIL mainstay, a returning AIL vet from early in AIL's life, and the Winking Judge's Sole representative.

Kingdom of Loathing (KOL) is a (mostly) original online game that apparently has something to do with Asymmetric Publications, LLC, and something called a Jick, who probably copyrighted and trademarked the thing up the wahoozer. Wahoozer is a word I just made up. If you don't like it, bite me. And if you refuse to bite me go to . . . ANYWAY, this is the archive for an interactive writing game based on KOL, and a specific clan within- the Kingdom of KOL. Specific characters belong to their specific owners, specifically, unless specifically stated otherwise. This game was developed by Joshua A. Dexter, with rules based in part on Mercenary and Equinox. This is a non profit game done for entertainment purposes only. If a rash develops on your imagination, desist use immediately and consult a physician, psychologist, or 1-900 psychic for further assistance. KOL forums, store, entry at Answers, KOL's entry at Archive.org, and it's entry at Wikipedia, and KOL's own wiki. - JAD
In other words, I don't own KOL, or KOKOL, and KOL doesn't own KOL. Get it? Good!
