Guild Warriors: Faction Satisfaction

Guild Warriors: Faction satisfaction (By Sebastian Dash)

One of the toughest parts of AIL has always been getting new players. Just three missions prior to this one, we endured a mission where only four people participated in the whole mission. And of the four, one (Vixen) only appeared in a single co write. Despite that, we (Vixen, Catrina& Feena, and my Sebastian Dash) managed to turn ten pieces total, matching the previous mission.

We then took part in the  truly  epic Enter Hey Daze mission, which was intended to cleanse the roster page of four inactive names. The four had actually been written to save the KOKOL forces in the previous mission Finale. This mission saw them send to and stranded in Hey Daze during the Rollover. The stipulation?

They had to roleplay this mission or they'd be left behind. There was also a stipulation stating the winner could (Via roleplaying) pick one of the four endangered characters to save 'if' they won. No one took advantage of that option.

Fortunately, one of the four characters did roleplay! Samus XTreme took the opportunity to firmly establish one of AIL's most unique characters. He also changed his first name's spelling to Shamus. His familiar also had a habit of breaking the forth wall a bit much. She got over it later on.

I wasn't happy with AIL at this point. I again had a two mission setup. Early on, we managed to secure another clan, Winking Judge. The idea was hopefully a few of their players would join AIL. That's what happened, but so far, only one of them has roleplayed aside from Higgy, the actual clan leader, who helped me write the 'interlude.'

Guacanator did two parts here and has done a few since. Also, Catrina did a new alt, Todd Blackpaws, who's considered a part of Winking Judge. A few others have done applications but have yet to debut.

I mandated at some point I wasn't going to wrap the mission up until I'd gotten at least five player characters per mission. I didn't really care if the mission never ended at that point, and that's almost what happened. The thing went on a total of eleven months of roleplaying! Yeesh.

That's the downside. Fortunately, thanks to an influx of new talent, and Catrina and me each doing a second character, we met my mandated limit and I wrapped the mission up.

I decided to cut out the duel themed missions for a while, although I think I'll be able to safely bring it back for the upcoming epic Season Finale!

That's the downsides.. And on top of that, Feena / Riko had quit the previous mission! *sighs*

On the upside, we had the debut of Winking Judge, and their members Todd Blackpaw and Guacanator. Leslie had Vixen show up, and debut her own second AIL player character, Lapine. Zanther Wolf made his Long awaited debut along with my second AIL character, Becky Joy. Raw Hide managed to miss the entire mission, but Shamus XTreme got his two pieces done fairly early.

And we got more roleplaying done than usual. Of course, it wasn't thatmuch more, given that roleplaying went on for an unprecedented 11 months, so make of it what you will...

This mission leads to brighter times ahead, with the next mission (a direct continuation of this one) leading to a new level of success in AIL, due in no small part to the concept of "Live roleplays" debuting in that mission....

But let's concentrate on this one before we move on, and see how the Kingdom of KOL and our new clan go about impressing the Council of Loathing. One of the two quests is themed as a combination of the Old (see level 4 quest information in link) and new KOL "build a meatcar" quests.

Feature characters: The Guacanator. A new clan debut- the Winking Judge and currently (as of the second to last mission) the only new Winking Judge member to participate in roleplaying. He managed to establish his presence in AIL firmly with two solo pieces; "Old Friends" and "New Enemies."
Zanther Wolf gets very special mention here, since he struggled with overcoming insecurities and rough spots in his life to eventually get to the point he was ready to debut! Wolf stars in a co written 'intro bit' with Becky Joy, then does his own thing quite well! Check him out as he meets a new friend, fights demons, and undergoes a shocking transformation!
Vixen and Lapine; both of Leslie's characters get mention in this one. Vixen is a bit of an "AIL vet" at this point and debuts her second character.. Vixen's 'ex,' Lapine!
Catrina Whiteclaw and Todd Blackpaws really only have about three things in common. Both are heroes, both are half animal, and both are handled by one talented writer. They're parts of separate clans, however. Todd debuts here; Catrina's quite the AIL vet already by this point.
Sebastian Dash and Becky Joy are mine. Since I put the other duel writers here, I'll put them as well! Dash is the 'original' AIL player character, while Becky debuts this mission alongside her very close ally Zanther Wolf.
Samus XTreme pays for his ego, and existence, repeatedly. Will he be able to struggle through the minefield of self invoked karmatic punishment long enough to get the job done?! Played up brilliantly here, with his familiar Inu also shining bright!
And featuring: Prince Blahking, Higgy and the Winking Judge, The Council of Loathing starring the Nice Sorceress, and Katherine Swift, among others.
