Mission:  Guild Warriors: Faction satisfaction

Original Roleplay

Lil more meat here than the previous bit with Swift and Dash..

Their history is established here as they finally meet up. Check it out and I'll comment after.

Katherine Swift and Sebastian Dash.

They were 'those two kids.' You know, the one that everyone paired up in their minds.. Their personalities, their penchant for causing trouble, even their names matched up and screamed, "Couple us up when we're older!"

It was amusing at times, but stifling to both at other times. Of course, that ceased to be a huge issue later on, when the two had gone their separate ways in life. She'd traveled, like Dash. Much like Dash, she'd met some interesting people, fought some desperate fights, and insane situations. Like Dash, she'd returned home to Seaside Town in the recent past.

Braggagis Simon, Katherine's Knollish contact, had recently gotten in touch with her. Knowing of her love of a good heist, and also with the hope she'd be willing to help his people, she'd told him of the yeti who'd roamed Degrassi Knoll- and of the gem he supposedly possessed, one worth a great deal of meat to the right adventurer. To his surprise, Katherine had already gotten word of the political problems Degrassi Knoll had been suffering for the recent few years. Having spent a few years in the Knoll in her younger, rougher years, she'd taken to the cause.

And to the rumors of said gem, even if she was a little dubious that the claim had been exaggerated to help solicit her help. Well, she figured, there was only one way to find out! Seaside Town had been getting a bit uncomfortable for her, lately. It was great seeing all the old faces, even if one particular "rogue" had been avoiding her... Well, his loss.

And lo and behold, look who she'd end up running into in South Degrassi! And very nearly being run over. In their defense, it was the dead of night. She'd actually gone to attack him, not able to make out who it was in the darkness. Fortunately, a chance stroke of luck, in the form of a sudden shaft of moonlight, put a quick stop to that.

Dash slipped his hand over her mouth, gently. Not that it was a necessary gesture. Katherine was as aware of the danger around them as he. She slipped her own hand over his mouth in response. The two exchanged a meaningful, almost amused look that lingered untold seconds, before Dash turned his head towards a nearby shack, barely visible in the night. Not thinking anything of it, she slipped her hand into his as the two battle hardened veterans made their way towards it in the near total blackness of the night.

The darkness of the night seemed to cackle with mischievous danger. Dash and Swift slipped deeper into the shack, enough so that Dash could strike a soft light from a lamp without it being noticed from the outside. After all, there were more than a few of homeless Knolls who'd be happy to use the shack of worse came to worse. Thankfully, none of them were actually in the shack tonight, as far as Dash could see.

Her eyes scanned the room as well, before settling on his. For several terse, long seconds, neither spoke.

"So..." she started, quietly. For all her dozens of ideas on what to say, none seemed fitting.

"Yeah," Dash answered, suffering the same lack of ready conversation. "Look, what're you doing here?"

"Trying to save the town," she'd immediately answered, which was partly the truth, even if she was out here mostly for possible personal gain. But it was an answer more likely to appease him. "You?"

"Looking for a good fight," he answered without thinking. Which wasn't his motivation, but he'd been reckless in the past trying to impress her, and a part of him was still looking for that approval he never felt he got from her.

If either had any doubts on the other's answer, said doubts went unsaid.

"I got a hint from some teens on where he might be," Dash finally said, breaking an uncomfortable, nervous silence that stretched itself out over a long minute or so.

"Let me guess," she said, being sure to keep her voice down as much as she could. "The abandoned Degrassi book store."

Dash nodded. "Where'd you get your tip?'

"Same," she answered.

"Think it's a trap?"

"Hope so." She seemed to smile, though the low light made it hard to tell for certain. "So up for working together again? Like old times.."

Only not quite, she thought to herself, almost sadly.

"Sure," Dash said, unsuccessfully trying to keep his voice neutral. He'd thought of her off and on over the years.. maybe this would offer a chance to resolve old feelings and mistakes...

"Then let's get going!" She suggested, a bit louder, interrupting whatever was on Dash’s mind.

Dash nodded, following her out through the darkness, and into - unsurprisingly- a trap.

Interesting history between the two! We also establish what brought Swift into this story. We'll be back to this part of the story later on when we add Catrina into the mix. Just a few pieces left before we get to that - Becky Joy, Todd and Lapine finally debut, Zanther Wolf's solo, then Becky and Lapine!
