Through the plot hole weirdly!
Mission:  Interim mission: Generic Summer Vacation
subtitle: Not a plot hole! Dash, Cat, Catt, Becky

By Becky/ Dash and Cat/ Catt
Original Roleplay

As the voter noted, it would have been nice of there was a second post for this, but roleplaying time didn't allow it.

As it is, it reads more like two separate stories.. ultimately, the ideas was for them to lead to the same place.. Dash's former stomping grounds of Honorburg City, so we could write a City of Heroes "tribute." See after notes for details on that.

Catrina lounged in the private quarters of her family in Cobb Knob. Because she was in their private area she had taken to wearing the only thing that was comfortable given her bulging belly- hence she was naked. Of course in her condition 'comfortable' was a relative term. No matter how she lay the brat inside her always seemed to be in just the wrong position- usually on top of her bladder.

Cattaras padded briskly into the room. "Catrina I.." he began, before averting his eyes so as not to look at her too directly. This caused her to laugh. She then rose- after a fashion and a couple of false starts- damnit this kid was really cramping her style! She sauntered over to her brother and teased him. "What's the matter, brother dear? Can't stand the sight of me now that I'm knocked up?"

Cattaras growled, trying to look his sister in the eye. "It... it's not that I can't stand the sight of you its...." He stopped that line of answer before he got in too much trouble- but it was too late.

Catrina giggled. "Oh I know what it is! I remember Mamma telling about how you just hated being weaned!"

Cattaras growled. Mamma usually told such stories whenever he brought home a new girl- especially ones with abundant cleavage. Catrina laughed again at his discomfort, getting even closer- the objects of their discussion pressing into him. "I admit they're not as big as Mamma's but.." Cattaras stopped her, pushing her gently but firmly away as he glared at her. "Catrina! I came her for a serious problem, not to be.. tarted to!"

In her usual fashion Catrina shut it all down, going serious on her brother with a speed likely to cause whiplash. "Okay, hon. Sorry. What's up?" That was Catrina. Seductress one second- buisnesscat the next.

At least that hasn't changed... thought Cattaras before he cleared his throat. "Some of the mages are detecting some sort of weird energy in this room.. I was going to check on it for them. You may want to leave before..."

There was the sharp and seemingly soundless crack of thunder. In the blink of an eye, the area Catrina stood on began to go dark, fading out of existence. Without having to think, Cattaras dove forward, grabbing his pregnant sister with enough force to carry both to safer grounds. Cattaras began to turn, and suddenly found himself falling. Too late, he realized the very tear in fabric had tried to follow its target.

Cattaras caught a glimpse of green and black patterns as he fell through, into nothingness. This was no ordinary "plot hole," the kind found only in the upper echelon of the Kingdom.

Then nothing but blackness as the rift from Catrina's room seemed to seal itself...

------------

Darkness.

Dash suddenly stirred, his mind racing to piece together what'd happened. Normally, his trained reaction was to stay still until he realized what was going down. This time, his body jerked up. He forced his eyes open, trying to shake the black which clouded up most of his vision.

Dash found himself in an alleyway. Definitely not Seaside Town. He glanced around, seeing a graffiti sign that proudly proclaimed "The Spidarkks will get you at night!" Adrule? No.. Dash didn't see any sign of advertising, and this ally felt too futuristic anyway. There was a light.. electric. What had sucked Dash through was no ordinarly plot hole; his mind put that much together. Definitely technology of the Tirki-tics, alien like extra dimensional invaders well known throughout the Faraway lands and Honorburg.

Which is.. exactly where Dash seemed to find himself now?! How the hell did Dash get here? The last thing he remembered was suddenly being enveloped in a plot hole.. .. except Dash was sure it wasn't a plot hole. Even as he fell through, Dash could feel something was wrong.

Didn't someone fall in with.. Dash's head throbbed. There was an odd sensation running through his body, like he'd bathed in electricity during a storm.. Familiar... very..

"Hey, this cave looks weird!" Becky Joy whined. Dash looked around to see her. Becky struggled to recover, and pulled away when Dash moved to help her. Dash suddenly remembered.. the two were enemies. Becky had joined Catrina in her betrayal.

"Waitaminute, this isn't South of the Border!" Becky said, looking around, her eyes wide. "... Is it?"

It was almost like she was seeking approval by asking.

"No," Dash answered. That was all he said. He didn't want to claim he knew where they were until he was sure. It certainly looked like... signs of actual electric items, which were items rarely found in the Kingdom proper. Dash's keen ears picked up the sound of battle nearby.

The buildings rose several stories. Nothing like the Kingdom at all. Dash motioned for Becky to keep quiet, and lead her up a fire escape low hanging enough that Dash was able to boost Becky up to grab it. Dash then jumped off a trash can, giving himself just enough height to hook the lower rings on the fire escape ladder and pull himself up.

The two made their way across a series of ladders to get a better view of the battle raging on the other side. Dash's eyes went wide as soon as he caught sight of it. There were a couple of faces, one familiar and one not, surrounded by a mob of black suited thugs. As they came into view, Dash caught one of the thugs trying to rally the others. "Come on! Take down those two heroes and this city'll know we're taking over!"

The female looked a few years younger than Dash, and the male, a few years younger still. Both had naturally dark hair, with cusps of dyed red. Energy swirled around both, patterns of light blue and white around her, and black and dark red around him.

"Aw, how cute, Katlana. They wanna take us down!" One got a bit too close to the male, who nailed him with an energy laden punch, sending him flying backwards. "We must be important, hm?"

Dash didn't hear her response over the sound of energy blasts. Dash threw himself over the ledge, bringing his longsword's hilt across the neck and shoulder of a thug with enough impact to shatter bones. Dash looked to the next threat as the thug dropped.

The girl's eyes went wide for a second. "Dash?"

Dash just smiled slightly and nodded. "Katlana."

She was too distracted to notice a black garbed giant, with muscles so big his veins had veins of their own. He sneaked up behind her, vainly stopping to pose, but it was in vein; her accomplish in crime fighting, fists growing with dark blue energies, blasted him in the ribs with enough explosive force to send the giant flying.

"Thanks, Jake." She turned, blasting another thug, but he was able to get his arms up and block most of the impact. Meanwhile, Dash found himself aided by Becky against the oddly garbed warriors.

"Yeah, no problem.. Ya know this joker? He kinda looks like our new playmate, Z Dark," Jake said, starring a hole at Dash, who's face went white. Zedika Dark's involved in this?!

A series of powerful blasts and a rush of black booted Sixth Council members separated Dash and Becky from the two hometown heroes. They were yelling and screaming about using the heroes for some dark sinister plot.

Dash sighed and prepared to dig in for the fight...

Catrina and Cattaras were both used in City of Heroes by their handler. I created Dash and Becky in City of Heroes. Katlana and Jake are both versions of City of Heroes characters, one mine, and one a friend's.

Since Honorburg is a one off version of Paragon City, it would be nice to use the six (plus another two, since City of Heroes teams go up to eight, maybe?) to do a CoH tribute story someday.

Maybe in a future mission.. hmm
