I mentioned on comments for the last piece that Ozzie's debut was written after this Live RP. I mention "two potential future AIL members" were watching this one in my in-post notes below.

Well, surprise. One of them is Ozzie's handler! I guess you could see he liked what he saw, since he joined quick enough to beat me to posting this.

Of course, editing these Live RP's the way I do is very time consuming.

Anyway, I was assigned to be the co DM of this one, and I really took to the job. I also tried something new, labeling any contribution to the final product that wasn't immediately obvious- IE there's no need to mention I (the co GM) wrote Dash's line, or that ALN wrote Aleena's action.

If that is confusing, hopefully it'll make more sense when you read the Live RP below.


 
Another roleplay where we went into "Epic" mode! Leading up to the game itself, I was able to bring a couple friends to chat and learn more about AiL.. possible future members? We’ll also explore a whole new section of the Kingdom.

I’ve left in more comments for this one too- and tagged them, which is a first. I’ll have to get some feedback on how well it works and if this helps things or not.

Slight language warning

(co GM) <Our Live RP starts out with this town we've never seen. It seems to remind you, yes you the reader, of a combination of a typical Chinese town and an Ewoki village from the sci fi movies. It lies on the border of the Distant Woods and the Nearby Plains, yet for some reason it's hard to see where it is from more than a few thousand feet. Very mysterious.>

(GM) (Fumblies brings in some basic Knobs.)

(co GM) <Katherine Swift and Aleena are still riding on Sebastian Dash's horse. Dash spots the village and looks up.>

Dash: "Any one else ready for a rest?"

Konall Bearsmasher: "I'm good."

(co GM) <The people in the town seem rather afraid of something. Maybe it's the constant war.>

(M) <The hooded figure shakes her head.>

Dash: "You don't count, Konall. You were resting when we found you just an hour ago."

Konall: "That wasn't a rest. That was a Viking power nap. I was training in battle against my own nightmares."

(co GM) <Sebastian, Katherine and Aleena met up with a few allies on the way over, and quickly informed them of their mission; save the Princess, Jen Pi, kidnapped by Kung Fu fighters of the Panda nation.>

<Aleena raises her brow and glances at Konall.>

(co GM) (Hey Cameron, any stats on my Longsword? It'll be a temporary focus device.)

(ALN) (Aren't Feline Empire people bad guys?)

(M) <The hooded one casts yet another sidelong glance at Dash.>

(Thor) (lol) (Well Fumblies isn't a bad guy just easily manipulated by evil forces.)

(GM) (No stats worth mentioning.)

(co GM) <We make our way to the village, and watch the children scampering around.>

Dash: "Who's been here before? Anyone?"

<Aleena found herself riding behind Katherine upon Dash's horse, so she had been spending the trip trying to amuse her riding companion with whatever playful tricks crossed her mind. She regaled the party with stories of her homeland, of adventures long past.>

Konall: "I might have raided here before. I lose track."

Dash: "You were raiding Kingdom Towns huh?"

Dash: "Could you at least lie and say it was during wartime?"

<Dash leans up against the horse, having been walking for quite some time.>

Konall: "Uh, sure. And they attacked me first."

(co GM) <A child butler comes up and informs Konall that his Loft of Honor is being prepared as we speak.>

(co GM) <Another couple of children come up, standing at a distance, starring at the girls on the horse, and the Feline.> (Is Fahari a Feline?)

(M) (Yes- panthress.)

Konall: "And are the satin pillows prepared to my specifications?"

Child Butler: "Yes sir, they've been burned and scattered at the graves of your victims."

<Dash seems to think he spots a Muri-Dan in the distance, but they vanish by just as quickly.>

(co GM) (I just wanna establish the area as dangerous right now.)

<Aleena is dressed in her chainmail bikini, a gift from Konall. Though she greatly prefers her own more covering cysuit, this barbarian's outfit supposedly helps her to blend in. Her sun-yellow hair is tied in a ponytail.>

<Konall is dressed in his typical beaten-and-repaired armor. He's carrying an assortment of weapons and riding his meatcycle.>

<Spaz has his eyes peeled for loot.>

(co GM) (Can Dash be decked out in his gains so far?)

(GM) (Sure.)

(co GM) <A ninja child walks up to Spaz.>

Ninja Child: "Sir would you like to try to steal the pebble from my hand? It is a game of great concentration and skill."

<The hooded one - Fahari- raises her head, sniffing the air, and growls a bit. Yes- THEY were here.>

Spaz: "Uh, no."

<Spaz snatches at the pebble.>

<Ninja Child cries.> "Sir! That was my ear until just now!"

Spaz: “Oh, sorry."

<Spaz hands back the ear.>

<Ninja child takes it and runs off bleeding to vow vengeance on the King of the Kingdom.>

(co GM) (How am I doing?)

(ALN) (Uhm, what?)

(co GM) (I mean co dm'ing?)

(GM) (fine)

(co GM) <A strange old man starts walking up to you, but he's nearly ten feet away.>

<Spaz flies around him in circles, examining him.>

<Sir Fumblies had been headed south for days accompanied by the two undead warriors he had found a few months before, two lowly Knob grunts who had been with him since he had first joined the Feline empire but who had not really shown a unique talent, and one of the four brutes that had been put in his command. He had been sent south on a tip from his new teacher, the mysterious ruler of Fernsworthy Tower as a lead towards finding the former Knob King's sister.>

<Fumblies and his company move ever south until they reached a small Chinese Ewok looking village. As the group arrives in town Fumbles see several others up ahead and chuckles to himself. He walks into the town leading his minions.>

<Dash nods> “Fumblies. You're in the wrong place without sufficient backup to look for a fight."

(Dash and the clan might not know Cattaras has offered the Feline Empire's help.)

Konall: "Old man, what's with the being all mysterious?"

Old Man: "Eh? Be there in a minute, warrior."

<He's now taken his third step. Awesome!>

Spaz: “Remember not to pick a fight with this one, Konall."

(ALN) (Confusion level not subsiding.)

Konall: "Why not?"

<Dash offers to help the ladies down off the horse.> "Shall I explain what's going on, ladies?"

(co GM) (We've arrived at a strange Chinese village in the Kingdom proper.. Konall once conquered it.)

<Fumblies merely chuckles in amusement at Dash's assumption.>

Fumblies: “How like you to assume that when some not of your faction shows up they want to fight. But if you must know I am here on a lead to help find one of the lost princesses."

<Fahari reaches up and pulls back her hood, revealing her Feline nature> "One must show respect, Konall- even if one wants only to fight."

Spaz: "Remember that old guy that was sweeping the path that you picked a fight with? He leapt 300 feet into the air, landed and balanced on your head, and then proceeded to kick you in the face without losing his balance."

Dash: "Cattaras was serious about spending help huh?”

<The old man stops at six paces to catch his breath.>

Spaz: "Then there was the 120 year old who flicked you to death with his pinkies."

Aleena: "I gotta try that sometime."

Spaz: “And remember the old guy tending a bonsai tree who poked you in those two nerves. It took you three months to stop twitching."

Katherine: "I've never been here before, Aleena. I have no idea what is going on."

Dash: "Hey, tell us the story about his great grandma again, Spaz!"

<Aleena jumps down from the horse, accepting Dash's offer of help.>

<Dash helps each lady down in turn, smiling like a Chestire cat.>

(co GM) (Would someone like to suggest we walk over to the old man?)

Spaz: "The one where she beat him with her kitchen spoon in a fight, or the one where she made him clean out the Great Lavatory?"

Konall: "Story time later Spaz, we've got work to do."

Konall: "Just because I don't know what it is doesn't mean it's not important."

Dash: "Hey, what kind of wildlife do you pick up here, Fahari?"

<Konall walks toward the man, holding his shield with a bit of anxiousness.>

<Fumblies nods slowly as he looks around then makes a step toward towards the old man.>

Fumblies: “You could say that.”

Old Man: "It's a secret to everyone."

Dash: "?!?"

Konall: "What's a secret?”

Old Man: "The village. I am sure none of you have ever imagined a village might exist here."

Konall: "Tell me about this village. Does it have loot?"

Old Man: "We've gained much wealth in case the great warrior Konall would ever return. But he was a neigh god like figure, I am told. See, I napped through his entire conquest of our village!"

Konall: "You did what!?"

Old Man: "I'm quite a sound sleeper, you see! Would you like to see my fall asleep right now?!"

Dash: "I'd advise against that."

<Fumblies looks around and notices a few of the ninja dressed children and nods thoughtfully before turning to look at old man.>

Fumblies: “So have you seen any other strangers pass this way in the last week or so?"

Old Man: "Strangers? Ohh.. do you mean like strange Faraway Land ninjas without masks that look like potential no do good'ers?"

Konall: "Did they have loot?"

Old Man: "Hm.. I must be convinced to answer any further questions."

<He holds out his hand.. You can try to bribe him or do a rogue roll.>

Spaz: “What would that take? Unicorns? I'm on a bridge, Charlie. I've never been to a chocolate factory before."

(co GM) (Or the other one.)

(GM) dice

(co GM) (12 sided dice.. moderately easy to get some kind of answer.. The better you write the more bonus points you get, and you'll need bonus points to get the good stuff.)

Konall: "So what encouragement do you need old man?"

Dash: "Okay.. maybe we can talk the answer out of him. What do you think, Spaz?"

(GM) (Roguishness is the default "dealing with people" skills.)

Spaz: “I think a lot of things. Right now: zombie chipmunks."

Spaz: "I can try talking to him."

(Thor) (I will try a rogue roll here in a sec.)

Old Man: "You might try to convince me that it's important, but since I'm a foolish old man, that might not be easy.”

Spaz: "So, who were they? What did they want? What made you think they were up to no good? Did they have candy? How many were there? Did they have candy?"

<Aleena's suit translates the old man's answer as 'You can probably gain the answers you seek through a variety of names, by naming the stat you want to use, or bribing.’>

Spaz: "What did they think about the elephant problem?"

Old Man: "You amuse me. So I'll answer you honestly. Or more or less honestly. They were strangers, they wanted something. They were clearly no good. Dunno. Didn't count. Don't know."

(D12 = 6 + * =14) <Fumblies shakes his head at the short exchange before looking at the old man intently.> Fumblies: "So you say a bunch of Faraway Land ninjas passed through. Did they have anyone with them?"

<Someone gets the impression that was the bare minimum answer Spaz could get. No further questions til this one is resolved.>

Old Man: "Ah yes, you ask well! There were at least a dozen of them that I could see, and more that I couldn't. Also, if you visit strange birds, take them worthless trinkets."

Konall: "Let me try. We Vikings are masters of dealing with people. Now, old man, you may have trouble remembering details. You may not think me worthy of getting them. But I have a really big axe. I mean look at this thing. It's huge."

(GM) (Roguishness roll of 2 + 10 =12)

Old Man: "You carry a big axe to make up for the fact you once cried during training as a child!"

<The old man bows politely.>

Konall: "That's ridiculous."

<Konall looks ashamed.>

Old Man: "Also, I believe you will find several items from the nature of Panda. The nature of such items is unknown to me. Maybe if you ask more politely, I'll remember?"

<Fahari steps forward> "Elder, is there nothing you could tell one such as I- for any price?"

<Old man examines her, requiring a roguishness dice roll to answer.>

(GM) (Kadlin actually has good people skills. But I don't have the energy to deal with her.)

Old Man: "You would look better in a lighter color of robes to compliment your fur."

(co GM) (Would you like to use a once off item to communicate with her via lifeline?>

(GM) (I'll pass.)

<Fumblies nods sagely at the man's words.>

Fumblies: "I will have to remember that. Now the other with the ninjas were they dressed like nobles?" <Fumblies waits for a reply while his brute starts to shuffle its feet.> (rolling another rouge roll of 9 +8 =17)

(co GM) <The old man looks up at the brute and nods.>

Old Man: "I feel compelled to talk to this one before the elf from another plane of existence."

<Aleena tries to do something to enhance Fumblie's request. Maybe by miming? Anyways, a half-naked woman should make an old man perk up.>

(GM) (Or get a nosebleed.)

(M) (Roll: 6 rogue 3.)

Old Man: "You, strange brute. You seek combat. You will find what you seek in the forth village. Or more properly, you will find the next clue to the first fight. Also, if you mix Vodka and an orange, you get a screwdriver."

(co GM) (Cat I don't know why you rolled, sorry.)

<Konall writes that down.>

(co GM) (Aleena's turn.)

(co GM) (Rightfully she should have gone early if not first.)

(M) (Tried to get him to answer her.)

(co GM) (I need an action line for the die roll okay?)

<Fumblies nods slowly having gotten what they needed for the moment but on last question remained.>

Fumblies: "Did you happen to see which way the ninjas where traveling?" (rouge roll of 4 + 8 = 12)

<Aleena dances: Groove (7+11 = 18) >

Aleena: "What Fumblies said."

<Old Man's jaw drops.> "Wowza. You'll have to fight them to discover the location of the enemy. If you're able to defeat them in honorable combat, you'll find that the results will favor you, as will the Gods. Also, the ninjas should be, if my old man memory serves, at the very edge of the border. They're probably drunk. Will you marry me?"

<Fahari steps forward> "Elder, is there nothing you could tell one such as I- for any price?"

<Aleena gives the old man a gentle kiss, pressing up against him.> "No, but this is a fair reward, elder. Thank thee."

Old Man: "I can teach you the secret of the Deku Nut. But you can only use it once and you forget."

<The old man gets a slight nosebleed, but it passes.>

<Aleena feels curious.> "What is that?"

Old Man: "Why is what?"

Konall: "That dance was... very... incredibly... You're a good dancer."

<Fumblies nods his thanks as he starts to move on again having notices his brute was starting to get antsy.>

<Dash nods eagerly, but Katherine elbows him in the ribs.>

Aleena: "Deku nut... Aww, thank you, Konall!"

Old Man: "But it was my Deku nut! I shall take my leave now. Or rather, I'll stand here as you leave."

(co GM) <Aleena takes the Deku Nut, wondering why she'd forget how to use it after the first use.>

Konall: "So we're fighting ninjas?"

Old Man: "Kung fu masters!"

<Fumblies nods slightly.>

Fumblies: “Would look that way Konall.”

<The children gather around Fahari and Aleena.>

<The old man stomps his feet insisting ninjas are totally different than Kung Fu masters.>

(co GM) (Cameron you're good at pushing people forward without asking. Mind?)

<Aleena doesn't know how to use the Deku nut in the first place, so how I could forget something I don't even know...>

<Konall begins swearing. You hear phrases like "Beard of Odin." "Thor on a crutch!" and "Hel's kitchen."

Konall: "All right. We've got some people to fight. Let's go fight them."

<Konall charges forward.>

Aleena: "Cheer up, Konall. You'll kick their ass, sure as the sun rides across the sky."

Spaz: “So, where are these Kung Fu masters?"

Dash: "Didn't you listen, Spaz? He claims the edge of town, but that we have to head to some hut first."

Konall: "I hope so. They won't kill you if you lose. They just beat you up and make you look like a loser."

<Fumblies nods slowly at the old man's insistence as he knew there was a large difference between ninjas and kung fu masters. But it didn't matter as he was already passing out of the village.>

Spaz: "I was, hey, a chocobo!"

<Dash shudders> "I don't want that to happen again."

Katherine: "You were a chocobo? Are you a legendary comma chemeleon?"

(co GM) (Will Fumblies be staying with the party?)

Spaz: “No, but I dated one once. She could never make up her mind, though. She'd come and go, come and go."

(co GM) <Fahari is lagging behind; it's hard to move with children clinging to you.>

(Thor) (Yes; just trying to avoid the brute taking anyone out.)

<Several children run up to Spaz and ask to hear more humorous song references.>

<Konall orients himself to possible combat and begins charging.>

<Elsewhere, Catrina and Cattaras Whiteclaw and Kadlin Bearsmasher are probably hanging around wondering why nothing is happening there. But maybe not.>

<Spaz breaks out his accordion and begins playing parodies of popular songs.>

<Fumblies stops at the edge of the village and tries to calm the brute down while he waits for the others to meet up with him.>

<The songs somehow grant everyone an ability to sense trouble in the town.>

<This will allow us to start and avoid fights at will. Or in town.>

(co GM) (Whatchya think DM?)

(GM) (Nice.)

<There's a massive aura of trouble surrounding Konall. You don't have to be a genius to figure that this would always be around him; you just sense it now.>

(GM) (Probably same for Fumblies.)

Dash: "I think one out of every fifty of these people would fight us to the death for the chance of being killed by Konall."

(co GM) (Would you like Aleena's suit to start showing sensitivity to understanding magic yet, ALN?)

Konall: "Yeah, I kinda taught them the Viking Way."

(ALN) (Aye, please.)

(Thor) (Yeah Fumblies has a father mysterious but dangerous aura about him.)

(co GM) <A child runs up for Konall's autograph.> "You killed my dad and left me an orphan! You're the best!"

<Spaz's is more of an accident-waiting-to-happen thing.>

<Konall takes out a knife, cuts himself, and autographs the thing in his own blood.>

(co GM) <Aleena's suit seems to sense the same mydrithic properties in Spaz's song as in conventional expediency magic.>

(GM) (I can't write him stabbing a child. He has certain heroic traits.)

(co GM) (Getting to be a softy?)

Spaz: “Expediency magic is the most powerful force in the universe."

<A final warrior asks Spaz if he'd like his father and grandfather retrieved before the impending fight.>

Dash: "Spaz.. where'd that come from? You're so random."

Spaz: “My father and grand or yours?"

Final Warrior: "Either/ or."

<Fumblies looks up as several of the rougher looking villagers mover towards him and his minions looking as if they had a problem with either undead or Goblin's. Fumblies could feel their hostility as he looked at them.>

Fumblies: “Have a problem, gentlemen?”

Spaz: “As a demon my awareness extends beyond the reaches of the fourth wall."

Dash: "See the hut? We go in to get ambushed."

<Dash looks around, and doesn't mention huts don't have walls.>

<Konall sets fire to the hut.>

(co GM) (That is probably why he seems so random huh?)

Spaz: "Konall, what are you doing? Pillage, then burn!"

(co GM) <It just sits there burning for eternity. Like the love in Catrina's heart for sexual innuendo.>

(co GM) (You can still skip it and go to the 'real fight.' but you won't learn the secret which I have yet to make up.)

(Thor) (So a DM comment to my last post?)

(GM) (I think it's lust for sexual innuendo.)

<Konall steps into the burning hut.>

(co GM) (I pray to never find out.)

<Konall finds himself ambushed, and needs to roll at least a one on any stat to avoid the attack.>

<Aleena gapes, watching Konall do these completely random and strange things.>

(GM) (Rolled an 11 on shield skill and I have beefiness of 10 and shield of about 4, so that's a total of at least 25.)

(co GM) <The ninja breaks his neck on the shield and stands there like a leaf in the wind.>

Ninja: "I am a kung fu warrior and I'll die in several minutes. Shall I now tell you the secret to defeating the ninjas who lie at the edge of town?"

Konall: "Meh, I don't like surprises."

Pro Tip Ninja: "To defeat them, kill them using violence. Also, watch out for anything that looks like a ninja. It might be a kung fu fighter in disguise."

(co GM) (Sorry; I'm being too silly now, do you mind taking over during the fight Cameron? I can still do setting and throw in hazards if you want.)

Konall: "You look like a ninja."

Pro Tip Ninja: "And I killed myself on your shield, so I don't count. Also, I will die in ten.. nine.."

(GM) (Shield 5, my mistake.)

(co GM) (I figured he'd be dead by now; sorry.)

<Konall cuts off his head.>

Konall: "Sorry, I got impatient."

<The Ninja's tooth flies out from delayed damage, too.>

(co GM) (Did you roll for that? tsk..)

<Konall gains a debuff. Voice of the ProTip Ninja.>

(GM) (I'm currently DM. Deal with it.)

(co GM) <But his stats seem unaffected. Someone proceeds to the next fight.>

(co GM) (True point.)

(co GM) <Aleena's suit detects trace amounts of expediency magic in Konall's attack.>

(GM) <You are walking along a stone pathway. The cherry trees are blooming with symbolism.>

(GM) (That's not a fact you should mention to Konall.)

<Aleena blushes.> "I'm glad your okay, Konall."

(co GM) <Because Konall hates facts and gets confused by them?>

(GM) (Because Konall hates magics and gets confused by them.)

(co GM) <The voice in Konall's head says, "A strong defense is key to not dying.”>

(GM) <Suddenly, you see a 50 year old man jump out of a tree.>

Kung Stu: “Prepare for a fight to the death."

(co GM) <Dash learns his name from Spaz.. is that okay?>

(GM) <One of the cherry trees drops its leaves and you realize it's actually a kung fu warrior.>

Kung Stu: “You will be killed to death."

Kung Drew: “And it will hurt most painfully."

(GM) (Kung Drew was the tree.)

Dash: "Can we fight you in alphabetical order?"

<Aleena shakes her head.> "You two are silly. Go away before you hurt yourselves."

(GM) <A path stone behind you shatters and up from underground pops a female martial artist wearing a kimono that just barely manages to cover the essentials.>

Kung Wu: “NO! We will do this all at once."

<In a flash, a bishonen fighter appears.>

Katherine: "Figures Kung Wu would be impatient."

Kung Loo: “No, it is you who will hurt yourselves."

<Dash prepares his Black Chest Plate: +10 armor points.. and Cattaras's Black Heart necklace, +3 shadow damage..>

(GM) <The warriors seem ready to fight.>

Dash: "Did you kidnap the princess?! DID YOU?!"

(co GM) (Did they?)

(co GM) (I guess Aleena starts us off.)

(co GM) (Yes and no. They're more or less in the same group, but grunts.)

Kung Wu: "We were a part of the team that handled that operation. I feel that we all contributed our part to helping the cause."

Kung Stu: "Truly, when one of us wins, we all win."

(GM) (Special fight rules, you must name any attack you make.)

(GM) (You announce it before striking.)

(GM) (This gives you no penalty to hit chance.)

(GM) (The better the name the more powerful.)

(co GM) (Might we improv the name to sound cooler?)

<Aleena leads the attack, going after Kung Wu. We must show we are not to be trifled with lightly. Aleena prefers hand-to-hand fighting, beginning with a Falcon Punch!>

(GM) (Like the reference. +3 to damage.)

(GM) (Roll agility plus die plus unarmed skill.)

(co GM) (Can we do random debuffs for doing things dishonorable?)

(GM) (Sure.)

(ALN) (What's agility? A attribute?)

(co GM) <The voice in Konall's head whispers, "ProTip: Your friends hate you. Don't let them steal your glory.">

(GM) (Groove; her groove is 10.)

(ALN) Groove. 11+8+d12[6]= 25

(GM) (And what's your strength?)

(ALN) Muscle is 4.

<Aleena's attack sends Disco Wu flying into a tree.>

Kung Wu: "Your kung fu is stereotypically strong."

(GM) (Next?)

(GM) (Initiative is handled on a first come first serve basis.)

<Dash feels sneaky.>

Dash: "Double handle sword thrust attack!"

<Dash instead tries to boot the ninja in the head.>

(GM) (Groove, unarmed, die roll?)

<Kung Wu attempts to attack Aleena.>

Kung Wu: "Woodchuck chucks wood."

(Aleena, groove plus dodge plus die.)

(co GM) Groove: 7... Disco Fu: 5 (+2).. Roll: 8..

<Katherine goes to see what Fumblies is doing right now this very second!>

<Fumblies receives no reply from the men as they keep approaching but as they get within reach of the brute’s arms, two of the villagers are picked up by their heads and flung into nearby trees. At about the same time Fumbles sees the other heading down a path and moves his group at them as fast as he is able.>

<Aleena takes 7 damage from the punch.>

(GM) (That all should have gone to armor.)

<Dash's attack hits Kung Stu in the head.>

(co GM) (Any debuff for lying?)

(GM) (Yeah, -4 penalty to anything involving bacon.)

(GM) (I'm not going to seriously punish you for that.)

(co GM) (What if we end up eating healing bacon?)

(co GM) (We need to figure what to do with Fumblies, DM.)

(GM) <Fumblies' crew comes upon an army of midget ninjas, minjas if you will.>

(GM) <They block the path ahead.>

(co GM) <Katherine joins him to assist.>

(GM) (Damage goes to armor first.)

(GM) (Who's Katy helping?)

(co GM) (Fumblies?)

(GM) (Okay.)

(ALN) (Cameron, what is the armor rating of the chainmail bikini?)

Fumblies: “I think it is in your best interest to move aside as we out number significantly.” (Rolling and intimidate roll so not sure what that would be.)

(GM) Katherine: "Dominatrix strike."

(GM) (Roguishness plus any intimidation skills you might have.)

(GM to ALN) (You've got 10 armor.)

(ALN) (Okay. So chainmail bikini is just as protecting as the cysuit?)

Katherine: "He's short tempered. You better listen to him."

(GM) (Yeah. Reality is very optional here.)

(Thor) (So +2 intimidate +8 roguishness + 5 on the roll = 15)

<The ninjas look at each other. Two of them commit seppuku.>

(Question: Does my armor have hitpoints? I just took 7 damage, so I took 0 effective hitpoint damage. Suppose I take another 7 damage next turn; does that get absorbed by the armor too, or does it start spilling over into hp damage?)

(co GM) (Plus the cysuit is under the outfit; that might be the reason why.)

<Fumblies shakes his head in amusement before drawing his sword and signaling for his undead warriors to move forward.>

(ALN) (Sorry for these basic gameplay questions.)

(GM) (If you take another 7 damage your armor is shot, and will take strategically placed damage, just barely covering the naughty bits. You'll also take 4 points of damage to your health [the leftovers that the armor didn't absorb.])

(GM) (It's okay. Game's more fun when you understand the rules.)

(ALN) (How do I fix armor?)

(GM) (Just ask Konall to do it.)

(ALN) (Assuming I didn't have regeneration.)

(Thor) (Also what was the stats on that custom cloaks we got when we found the werevamp.)

(GM) (Or anyone else who has a meatsmithing skill.)

(GM to Thor) (They add +2 armor, I think.)

(ALN) (+2 defense vs. attacks from behind.)

(GM) (That's what it was.)

(co GM) (We need more enemy attacks I think, and maybe something for Fumblies.)

<Disco Stu tries to grapple Dash.>

(Thor) (What stat am I using? Or just my leadership roll?)

Stu: "Bear hug."

(GM) (I think you've got some mass buffs. Leadership works.)

Dash: "Travolta trip!"

<The attack misses, but the ninja nimbly jumps over the trip.>

Dash: "Drat."

(co GM) (We left Fahari covered in village children...)

(co GM) <Fahari later will discover a smoke sandwich, a one use item to give her a buff determined by the DM. A fairly good short lived buff. Maybe a self heal.>

(Add it to her inventory if you approve Cat.)

(GM) (The enemy ninjas stumble, just for a second, and Fumblies' minions gain the upper hand for a moment.)

(GM) <Disco Loo and Drew gang up on Konall, hitting him a few times.>

(co GM) <Katherine pulls out a thorn whip and attempts to attack one or more enemies, in a fashion of her choosing.>

(GM) <Katherine's whip trips up the minjas, throwing them off balance.>

(GM) No damage, but they're taking a penalty to their actions.)

<Fumblies orders the brute into action while the knight charges into the fray with his sword.>

(GM) (You can use a luck point to substitute luck for a skill you don't have, which is how I designed Fumblies to work as a fighter.)

(co GM) <Aleena's suit seems to be autoscanning for a clue to what types of attacks they're vulnerable to.>

<Fumblies grins as he blocks the attacks then prepares to counter them. With a laugh he looks down at the nearest minjas as he prepares to attack them by laying his sword down at his side at an angle so as to cut anything at his knee level.>

Fumblies: "Knight mows minja weeds."

(Thor) (10 + 1 + 11 =22 attack)

(GM) <Fumblies cuts the remaining 2 minjas in half.>

(ALN) <Aleena mutters, "Puppies?">

(co GM) <that is Aleena's information to share.. or Spaz's.>

(GM) <Konall picks up Kung Loo and headbutts him after saying "Viking Uses His Lesser Head.">

(co GM) <Or to not share.>

Aleena: "They're vulnerable to cheese-based magic, bitch slaps, puppies... for some reason, codfish and things that begin with 'X'. Strangely... specific."

<Fumblies looks around to see if there are any more of the short sized ninjas as he calls his minions back to him.>

Katherine (From a distance) "That's exposition magic for you!"

(co GM) (No more minjas.)

(co GM) Katherine: "Shall we return to helping Dash and his army?"

Konall: "I am not a part of Dash's army. I am an independent contractor."

Katherine: "You can't hear me over the distance, Konall."

<Fumblies leads his group further down the path after having the minja's stripped of any useful items?>

Konall: "Nevermind."

Konall: "Wait a minute..."

Katherine: "Thank you, Konall."

(co GM) (I love it!)

(Thor) (What do I need to roll to see if the minjas had anything worth taking?)

(GM) (They disappeared in a puff of smoke. But roguishness.)

(co GM) (Can he inhale the smoke for a temporary buff lasting the rest of the fight?)

(co GM) (I suggest the ability to call in ninja children to take falls personally.)

(Thor) (so 8+ 12 on the roll =20)

(GM) (How many remaining ninjas?)

(Thor) <Fumblies notices that the minjas had disappeared in a haze of smoke and takes a deep breath trying to keep his frustration towards ninjas at bay. As he does he breaths in a large breath of the smoke.>

(co GM) (Any type of buff you want to request?)

(GM) <Fumblies gets a +2 to stealth.>

(Thor) (That actually works.)

(co GM) (Ironic)

<As the smoke starts to dissipate the Fumblies and his minions begin to move down the road.>

Dash: "Seeing as you're outnumbered, I feel it would be fitting if you gave us some hints on where to find the Princess."

(co GM) (I'm so willing to dice for that.)

(GM) (Roguishness. What skill do you want to use?)

(co GM) < I rolled 11.... Intimidate: 1 (For an energy point).. Rogueishness: 7

(co GM) <I assume the smoke sticks to Fumblies's body maybe making him hard to spot?>

(GM) (Oh okay.)

Kung Loo: “I am not sure exactly. We were part of the support team. Mascots in fact.”

Kung Drew: “We fetched their towels."

Dash: "Er.. do you mean scouts?"

Kung Loo: “They are down the path, through the valley of ten thousand spikes."

Dash: "Thank you, and thank you for this honorable battle. I'm sure you have living to do somewhere else, so we'll let you vanish into the night if you wish."

(Thor) (How long until Fumblies comes up to this exchange?)

(co GM) <Katherine spots Aleena and runs up to greet her.>

(GM) (If we have time I'd like to talk about the next mission after this.)

<Aleena smiles and gives Kathy a little kiss.>

<Fumblies rejoins the group and sees that they had been busy as well.>

Fumblies: “Looks like you have been having fun.” <He looks at the two women as they kiss then shakes his head as he turns away to look at Dash.>

Fumblies: “Get anything useful?”

Dash: "Well.. they said to keep walking, basically."

<Fumblies blinks as he leads starts to walk a bit further down the path with his minions while the others talk over a few things. He figured he might as well scout ahead.>

(ALN) (I want to be kidnapped.)

(co GM) (For example, I roll an 11.11 for the stat of smoke inhaling.. of 20 or so.)

(ALN) (Aleena rolls Get Kidnapped: 1d12+20=32)

(co GM) <The smoke forms into a Princesses's dress, knee length, around Aleena. Tiara?)

(GM) (Konall rolls pure awesomeness [100+31^pi+infinity].)

(co GM) (Don't worry it vanishes when you fight or move Aleena..)

(ALN) (I will be careful not to fight or move then.)

Aleena: "What a pretty dress!"

(co GM) <The smoke forms into a gold tooth in Konall's mouth to replace one of the ones he lost in a sewing accident.. er.. I mean fighting giant beasts.>

(ALN) (Can the dress be made permanent? I will accept that as loot.)

(co GM) <When visible, it adds +2 to all non combat actions. When invisible, it can optionally add +1 to stealth.>

<Fumblies had made it a quarter mile up the road before he stops to wait for the others.>

(co GM) <The gold tooth will make food slightly more effective on Konall. If he hasn't eaten during this or last battle, it'll add +2 to ninja weapon attacks.>

Dash: "Find anything yet, Fumblies?"

(co GM) (We can do a perception stat in a short bit, but for now ad lib something small.)

<Fumblies had sent his two Goblin Grunts up ahead to see what was happening further down the path while he prepares sandwich. As he finishes the preparations to his lunch, he hears Dash.>

Fumblies: “Nothing yet but decided it was time for a lunch break while I waited for the rest of you.”

(co GM) <The smoke seeps into Fumblies's sandwich making the +2 stealth buff turn into a permanent +1 stealth.>

(co GM) (So it'd be buff removal, but a permanent gain, kay?)

Dash: "Come on, Aleena."

(co GM) (That's so you can react to the dress vanishing, and reappearing when you stop moving.)

(ALN) Pink Princess Dress with Tiara (+2 to non combat actions, +1 stealth, appears and disappears at will as a puff of smoke that wraps around Aleena).

(GM) (Okay, I'm fine with that permanent stealth boost. I gotta go.)

Fumblies: “Looks like we might be in for a bit of trouble.” <Fumblies look to the Goblins who quickly report that a small group of tents was up ahead.>

(co GM) <The smoke wraps around Dash's sword and does something.>

(Thor) (+1 to hit and the ability to hit incorporeal things.)

(co GM) <The smoke then settles into Dash's backpack and leaves him two small cans of ninja water to refresh his energy on some amount to be figured out later.>

(co GM) (wait.. I like Fumblies's too.)

(Thor) (Yes, I play D&D too- lol -so know how to make items.)

(co GM) (I wish I did. Okay.. Let's keep walking just us three.)

(co GM) <The three keep walking down the path.>

Dash: "What's up, Fumblies?"

<Fumblies looks at Dash.>

Fumblies: "Well it looks like there is a camp up ahead."

(ALN) (You made me a great item, Shelly.)

Dash: "We better look for traps."

(co GM) (I might need a good way to give us buffs based on the number of ninjas we face.)

Aleena: "Rushing headlong into the camp might not be the best move, tactically."

Dash: "We could split up and enter individually, I guess."

Fumblies: “I could send Tus in to even things up.”

Aleena: "Who is that?"

Dash: "Yes, teach us about Tus."

<Fumblies points to the brute that was part of his group.>

Fumblies: "That is Tus; short for Brutus."

Dash: "A pleasure to meet you, Brutus."

(co GM) (So Fumblies is what.. Caesar?)

(Yes, but Marcus not Julius.)

(co GM) (Tryin to figure if we want NPC action next, or traps.. any preference?)

Tus: “Hi...Kill...Ninja...Meat.” <Fumblies places a hand on Tus's arm and points him down the path towards the camp that was up ahead.>

Aleena: "I'd like to try to set a trap for the ninjas."

Dash: "That makes sense, but how do we know they'll come this way?"

Aleena: "They kidnap princesses, right?"

Dash: "yeah, but we'd need bait to.. brilliant!"

<Dash turns towards her.>

Dash: "I know what you're thinking."

Dash: "But will Fumblies put a dress on to do it?"

<Aleena rolls her eyes.> "Kat, slap some sense into that man."

(Katherine is gone.)

Dash: "She took off with Konall. Don't slap me.. fine.. do you really wanna be the bait?"

<Fumblies shakes his head as he watches Tus move down the path. As Tus moves out of sight he steps off the path and has his minions take up positions in on either side of it leaving the other two to argue.>

(Stealth roll of 12 on the roll +1 stealth bonus + what ever skill.)

<Fumblies and the brute pass four different traps without activating them, leaving them for Dash and Aleena.>

(Thor) (Not moving ahead just Tus is.)

<Aleena nods> "Yes. There is no better choice."

(Thor) (Well it applies to Fumblies too somehow.)

(Thor) (So 13 + 8 = 21 stealth.)

Dash: "Alright.. we just need to get their attention somehow. Fumblies, we need to hide somewhere nearby."

(Thor) (lol; Fumblies is hiding on the side of the road while Tus is heading in to say hello and good afternoon.)

(co GM) <Right now, if he did it quick, Tus could walk right into the camp, take a snapshot if flash photography existed, and leave without being seen.>

<Aleena strolls down the path towards the tents, putting on the airs of nobility -- an easy thing for an elf whose lived for two hundred years.>

(co GM) <Aleena activates a smoke trap.>

<Tus walks into the camp and proceeds to start tearing down tents while Fumblies watches from his hiding spot. After about a minute, Fumblies whistles. The whistle cause Tus to look about and start running out of the camp back the way he had came.>

(co GM) (Roll groove plus muscle if you want to try to avoid any debuffs. Or take a -1 tohit buff.)

(Thor) (Who?)

(co GM) (Sorry, Aleena.)

(ALN) (One moment.)

(co GM) (We should probably wrap up fairly soon. Unless you're having fun, I can keep going a bit longer.. just running low on steam.)

(co GM) <Aleena's willpower is so strong that she turns the debuff into a +1 to stealth for .. until we decide to dump it.>

(co GM) <Several ninjas came wandering out, wondering where Tus went.>

(co GM) <They look horribly dangerous. You might need to resort to non combat actions to defeat them.>

Aleena: "I'm a princess; I want to buy information."

(co GM) <They suddenly morph into kung fu figthers and walk up to Aleena.>

<Fumblies watches as Tus runs past his hiding spot and then starts to sneak around the camp while he watches Aleena talk with the now revealed kung fu fighters.>

Kung Fu Fighter Loi: "I am Loi. We sell information to you. You buy. We no kidnap princesses standing around on abandoned roads. You trust me."

<A magic wall prevents Fumblies from leaving again.>

<Aleena continues to approach.> "I want to know where the kidnapped girls are."

Kung Fu Fighter Lio: "Shall I take you to them?"

<Aleena smiles.> "Please. Are they here?"

<Aleena tries to act helpless.>

(co GM) <Several kung fu fighters appear, grabbing her and Dash by the wrists. Meanwhile, the magic walls around Fumblies vanish.>

(co GM) (I wasn't aware Dash was accompanying me.)

(co GM) <He was hiding.>

(ALN) (I would have done something different if he had.)

(co GM) <And got caught anyway.>

(ALN) (Ah)

(co GM) (Sorry)

<Fumblies enters the camp and moves to follow the kung fu fighters.> (Stealth of 1 + 8 rogue + 6 roll = 15)

(co GM) <In fact, Fumblies gets the idea the KOKOL’ers want him here, even though they can't see him.>

<Aleena gets kidnapped. I don't resist them.>

<The camp is quite small, and surrounded by smoke that seems like it might make it impossible to find. Unfortunately, none of it gives you buffs or free items.>

<Aleena is dragged along roughly> Kung Fu Oblivious: "It's too late to say no, you foolish woman!"

<Aleena cries out as they rough her up. Should have expected it, but it's still a surprise all the same. She struggles a little bit, but only enough for show.>

Dash: "Their grip is akin to iron. I cannot break it!”

(co GM) <When you get into the camp, you see several pandas kept in very small cages. The pandas are not moving at all but clearly alive. There's also panda birds, and a panda kung fu fighter gift shop.>

(ALN) (No worries; but if you need to quit due to being tired, I won't complain.)

(co GM) (Not tired, TNA wrestling is on though, but almost over.)

(co GM) <Aleena is thrown in the nearest tent, where she sees two princesses bound up. One looks afraid. The other looks calm.>

Aleena: "Is one of you named Jen?"

<The brave one nods, and motions for her to be silent.>

<Aleena is roughly shoved to the ground; the tent closes.>

<Aleena complies.>

(ALN) (If I am unguarded, then I shall set about immediately untying the two princesses.)

(co GM) (Please do try.)

<Aleena looks around to make sure she and the other two princesses are alone. Then she starts untying Jen first.>

Jen: "Wait, no!"

(co GM) <The smoke snakes around Aleena's wrists, binding them together.>

(co GM) (You can try to fight it.)

Aleena: "Oh."

<Aleena fights the smoky spells.>

(co GM) (How? more description so I can define stat and dice use.)

<Aleena notices the smoke is incorporeal; if I move quickly enough, it might not be able to secure my wrists. I could use speed to slip away.>

(ALN) (I got a 1! Total roll for 22)

<Aleena moves gracefully to no effect.>

Unnamed Princess: "What are you doing?!"

(co GM) (Aleena -- when you're back Princess is talking to you.)

(ALN) (I'm here, I'm just not sure of the status of the ropes -- do I get another chance to escape them, or am I through?)

Aleena: "Ah, that didn't go as planned. I was trying to rescue you."

Unnamed Princess: "I am Lady Goblin, I meant, why do you move your hands like that? Are you as afraid as I am?"

Aleena: "I was trying to escape the bindings. They are magical in nature, in some way."

(co GM) (Groove + roguishness roll, Aleena, plus a 6 sided dice.)

(co GM) (No effect, talk to the Princesses to get help.)

(co GM) (Thor do you mind me using the Knob Goblin sister?)

(Thor) (Not at all, though I figured her to be a bit tougher of personality.)

(co GM) (She is.. but not quite as tough as the others.)

(co GM) (She'll gain confidence soon after getting out, okay?)

Lady Goblin: "I can help you fight the debuff, if you want."

Aleena: "I'm not very familiar with this world's magic. I was given this acorn thing earlier, I don't know what it does."

<You can't reach it yet Aleena.>

Aleena: "You can? Please do, if I can get free again, I can try to free you again."

(co GM) <Lady Goblin focuses her.. Goblin senses. You feel your next dice roll will be doubled to 24 instead of halved to 6.>

Jen: "How can I help, Aleena?"

Aleena: "What abilities do you possess that can help us free ourselves?"

Jen: "Well.. I can beat things up, if I could move."

(co GM) (Suggest some other way she could help you Aleena - Or you can dice to escape again.. same as before but with a 24 dice.)

(ALN) +21 from attributes, +2 from dress, d24 gets 15, total of 38

(co GM) (Needs an actual action attempt too, ALN.)

<Aleena tries to slip out of the magical ropes.>

<Aleena, despite the nondescript escape attempt, bursts through her smoke cuffs, and causes Lady Goblins' to vanish as well.>

<Aleena quickly manages to escape from her bonds.> "Quite exceptional. Thank you, Princess Goblin.>

<Aleena smiles> "Now, how do we free you, Jen, without succumbing to the magic again?"

Lady Goblin: "They've kept us up several hours in this smoky prison. I can barely think."

(co GM) <Aleena's suit suddenly picks up a latent "Cheer" skill in one of the Princesses. It might be helpful.)

<Aleena thinks, wondering if her suit might be able to detect something.>

(ALN) (Awesome. You're ahead of me.)

Aleena: "Which one of you can cheer?"

Jen: "What do you mean?"

Aleena: "A buff, one of you can increase your abilities temporarily."

<Both Princesses cheer. Aleena will have to decide which one to listen to, though.>

<Aleena listens to Jen and uses a spell she was saving for just such an opportunity: Fate changing for justice! Aleena quickly tries to untie Jen.>

 

(Original description of skill) <The spell allows Aleena to sing a song that changes the tides of fate for her and her friends.>)

 
(co GM) <It works. The smoke then attacks the prison door, knocks it off its hinges, and gives each Princess a one use extra two energy points. Which expires at the end of this game. The spell vanishes until unlocked by a GM again.>

(co GM) (That way you can get it back eventually.)

Aleena: "Excellent. We'll pretend to be tied up, lure a guard in, and beat him up. Sound fair?"

<Aleena gets into position near a door. Before too long, an unfamiliar furry head sticks his head in the door... and Aleena quickly punches the head with all her might!>

 
Moving on to Fumblie’s section of the story...

 
<Fumblies moves up behind one of the kung fu warriors and taps him on the shoulder.>

(co GM) <The kung fu warriors turns into a seal clubber and faces Fumblies.>

<Fumblies smiles in amusement as he pretends to be surprised.> Fumblies: “Is that really the best you have got?”

Seal clubber: "I could perform smoke tricks, if you wish."

Fumblies: “So tell me who are you working for?”

<Fumblies takes a step back as he smiles in amusement preparing for the warriors first attack.>

Seal Clubber: "Fightin' for .. my bosses, who else?"

(co GM) <The Seal Clubber shoves Fumblies to the ground.> "You'll have to talk tougher than that to get an answer."

(co GM) (You gain buffs - and the ability to attack him- through good trash talk, Fumblies.)

<Fumblies just laughs.> Fumblies: "I gathered that much- but who are your bosses?"

(co GM) (Trash talk!)

Seal Clubber: "And what will I do if you refuse to answer me?!"

(co GM) (Screw up is purposeful.)

(Thor) (Going to in a minute trying to get him to gloat.)

(co GM) <The Seal clubber picks up Fumblies and holds him over the Seal Clubber's head> "You are nothing to me, you fool!"

Fumblies: "Wow dude how did you pass minion training school if you don't even know how to gloat."

(co GM) (It doesn't have to be insulting, just generally tough and mean.)

(co GM) <He growls at you, but you're starting to get to him> "Your mom was VP, so I brought her pretty flowers."

<Fumblies laughs in amusement.>

Fumblies: "At least my mom had a job unlike your sister who bedded anything that moved."

Seal Clubber: "Er.. how dare you imply my sister discriminated against things that don't move!"

<He drops Fumblies in his shame.>

(co GM) (Your turn Fumblies.. you might want to try sounding tougher.)

<Fumblies drops his feet and quickly draws hi sword moving the blade to rest against the kung fu warrior’s chest.>

Fumblies: "Tell me who you work for or I will tell you just what I did with your mother." (Intimidate roll of 8 + 2 + 5 =15)

Seal Clubber: "Er.. did you bring her pretty flowers?"

Fumblies: "Well flowers were involved but not in the way you think. So who are you working for or do I need to show you how to gloat?"

Guard: "I work for the great nation of Panda! I shall tell you nothing. By which I mean, I will gladly take you there yourself to see the others."

<Fumblies grins.>

Fumblies: "Lead the way, less than skilled minion of Panda."

<The seal clubber leads you to a prison, then opens it. Fumblies’s quickly notices Sebastian Dash, along with Todd Blackpaws, are the cage’s captives...>

 
Mere moments earlier, True Believers

 
(M) (Sorry for being gone- D8D got heavy.)

(co GM) (It's okay want to come as Todd or Cat? Since Fahari is long gone? I'll write you up a gift though.) Which she ‘got’ got earlier in the RP - Scribe

(M) <Nah- looks like you’re at the end.>

(co GM) (We got a long way to go we could use another player.)

(M) (Kk- then bring in Todd somehow.)

<Dash is thrown into the same prison cell as Todd.>

<Todd Blackpaws, master Bard.>

Dash: "Hey, Todd. Fancy meeting you here."

(co GM) (Todd is alone with Dash in a prison.)

<Todd groans, rubbing his head> “Crap... one minute I'm trying to pick up a girl- next thing I'm in jail- wonder who she was anyway?”

Dash: "Maybe a princess they kidnapped?"

<Todd grins> "Y'mean I came that close to making a princess? Cool!"

<Todd goes over and studies the door- and its lock.>

<Dash stands up and reaches to help Todd stand.>

Todd: "Anyone else with you? Or are we gonna have to get 'em to fight each other again?"

Dash: "Aleena. .. And Fumblies."

(Dash and Todd misunderstood each other a bit.)

Todd: "And how do we get 'em to fight each other then?”

Dash: "They're on our side, for now.”

Todd: "Yeah yeah- I'm just expecting that guy to show up here any minute- and not in a good way.”

<Outside the cage, the mysterious ninja turned seal clubber warps into a disco bandit and tries to shove Fumblies in.> (Roll roguishness or use a skill or item to avoid, Fumblies.)

Thor’s roll for countering the push - (Thor) (8 + 2 (Cloak as the push would be an attack from behind) + 9 = 19)

(co GM) <The guard tries to throw Fumblies into Dash's and Todd's cell. Fumblies avoids it and the seal clubber turned Disco Bandit accidentally runs into the prison door, tears it off, and is knocked unconscious.>

Dash: "Thanks Fumblies."

<Fumblies looks into the room and shakes his head in wonder as he sees Todd and Dash.>

Fumblies: “What a moron; we had better silence him before he tells anyone we were here.“

Todd <Looking a mix of sheepish and surprised> “Okay- I could be wrong, I admit it.”

(co GM) <One of Fumblies troops talks to the guard> "Be quiet for the next two hours."

Guard: "Okay."

Todd <Jauntily> "I'm afraid she’ll be tellin alot of people I was here.”

<Fumblies turns to leave in order to find the Princesses.>

<Dash follows him.>

<Todd trails behind, unslinging his guitar and tuning up.>

<Fumblies hears the signing and then the loud crash that follows of a door being slammed open. As he quickly approaches he sees the billowing smoke and walks into it.>

(co GM) <Dash, Fumblies and Todd arrive at the door, waiting on Aleena and the Princesses.>

(co GM) (Who wants to poke their head in first?!)

(M) (heh)

<Todd ventures in. Aleena's never seen Todd before, so she punches!>

Aleena: "Oh! Sorry!"

<Dash walks in> "Told you not to hit on her, Todd."

(co GM) (You three are awesome.)

Dash: "Oh no. I'm sure he deserved it." <Dash smiles playfully>

Aleena: "You're a friend of Dash? My name is Aleena. This is Jen and Goblin."

<Dash nods> "He is."

<Fumblies walks into the smoke and stands there a moment with his arms out stretch as he watches it dance around him.>

(M) <Flew back, landing on the floor holding his jaw> "Never happened.. but hey- at least she hit on me first.”

<Aleena strikes an athletic pose, her sunshine-yellow ponytail falling about her shoulders. The pink princess dress she wears hides her powerful body.>

<Todd sees a Goblin Princess and a very human, beautiful princess.>

(Thor) (Yes Fumblies is testing a theory.)

Dash: "So which one were you hitting on, Todd?"

Dash: "Looking good, Aleena!"

(ALN) (Todd should see a goblin princess, a beautiful human princess, and an elven princess.)

Aleena: "Why thank you!"

<Todd looks from one to the other> “Um.. Hell mate- they're too pretty to choose between em.”

<Both princesses watch Todd, and look cross not to be picked.>

Jen: "Let's get the Underworld out of here!"

Dash: "Agreed."

<Aleena nods.>

<Aleena's suit notifies her of several hundred ninjas and kung fu fighters outside, each with a different ability.>

(co GM) (We'll have to lose the princesses at some point, I think.. or at least be pursued/ trapped constantly.)

(Thor) (Apparently the smoke does nothing around Fumblies.)

Aleena: "Oh wow. I'm detecting a rather lot of fighters outside. We're outnumbered ten to one. How are we going to get out of here?"

(M) <Stands, thanking Jen for covering his ass- even if she didn't really> "Let's just say I'd like to hit on all of them."

(Thor) <The smoke adds +1 to Fumblies imagination.>

Dash: "I'm flattered Todd, but I think I can speak for Fumblies when I say you're not my type. Is it safe to get out of here?"

Aleena: "No! There's lots of fighters waiting outside; were you not listening to me?"

Todd: "Ten to one huh? Hey- where's that walking meat locker you usually travel with, Dash?"

(co GM) <Aleena's suit picks up several kung fu fighters outside, and alerts her to their exact position. Also, Todd can smell them. Finally, Fumblies's soldiers give him an escape plan.>

<Fumblies turns after a moment and then sees the approaching warriors. He stands in the door way and starts to smirk.>

Fumblies: "It will be in a few minutes."

Dash: "Oh, sorry Aleena. I thought you said, ‘We're outnumbered ten to one. That's terrible odds.. for them.’"

(co GM) <Aleena's suit seems to be encouraging her to send someone outside. Alone.>

Fumblies: "Only ten to one in their favor... man that isn't even a warm up."

(ALN) (That's an odd thing for my suit to encourage.)

(co GM) <Fumblies reads the paper that claims any one of them could crush all of us easily.>

Aleena: "Stay here, I'll go alone. Something tells me that's the right thing to do."

<Aleena's suit almost shudders under her beautiful dress.>

<Aleena ventures out into the mist.>

(M) <Todd plays Mood Muzak 2 for her beefiness.>

(co GM) <Aleena exits and runs straight into three separate kung fu fighters, all moxious.>

Fighter #5: "One, two, three four five, you gotta get a partner if you wanna get out alive!"

(co GM) (or is it #6?)

(co GM) (Tell me if you want me to be more serious okay?)

<Fumblies steps out of the cell and draws his sword as he takes a stance while eyes the approaching fighters.>

Fumblies: "Do you dare to fight a Knight of the Feline Empire?"

Aleena: "Hmm, maybe this wasn't the best of ideas."

Aleena: "I choose you, Fumblies! Get out here!"

(co GM) <Fumblies remembers it's dangerous to fight them.>

(co GM) <The three break out into a mega disco dance.>

Three Kung Fu Fighters: "To defeat us, you must outdance us!"

(co GM) (Bust a few moves, and if needed we'll add dice into it.. so impress me.)

<Aleena does the robot! Observers question how any living being could *move* like that!>

<Todd smirks> "Is that what you call that?"

(co GM) <The guards see her and jealously try to imitate her moves. One is hurt too badly to continue.>

<Without moving her feet, Aleena somehow manages to slide several meters across the ground.>

(co GM) (Nice line Aleena.. Fumblies?)

(co GM) (That's all the time she has before Fumblies move.)

(co GM) <The guards are starring openly at her.>

<Fumblies just grins as he chuckles in amusement while lunging into a sword practice drill. Each move as fluid as a dancer's step. A thrust to the left followed by an upward right sweeping stroke. A step back and parry to the right as his shield moves up to block and imagined attack.>

Guards: "You two may pick only four of your friends and pass."

<Fumblies guards are well outside of the prison.>

Lady Goblin: "Oh! Pick us!"

(co GM) <She holds her hands up.>

Aleena: "The two captured princesses are an obvious first choice. Who else?"

Aleena: "I'll stay and dance these losers into the ground!"

Dash: "What do you mean 'who else?'"

Guards: "No, you and Fumblies may go as well."

(co GM) (Sorry I should have explained.)

<Fumblies looks into the prison then at the guards with a look of utter amazement at their stupidity.>

Fumblies: "Aleena let's go."

<Aleena does the robot up to the guard who spoke. Her unnatural movements make it difficult to gauge her position in the mist. She stops and punches the guard in the face.> "I'm staying. Three others will go."

<Realizing he's the last one in there, Dash joins Aleena.> "You are picking me for the last person right?"

<Fumblies looks to those still in the cell and waves them out with a smiles as there were indeed ONLY four left in the room. The two princesses, Dash, and Todd.>

(co GM) (Someone tell her she doesn't have to stay.)

(ALN) (There's six of us. Four are permitted to leave.)

<Todd smirks> "I would have danced- but it's better with a partner. Everything's better with a partner- don't you agree my dears?" < Winks at the princesses>

(co GM flashback) (Guards: "You two may pick only four of your friends and pass." 2 Fumblies and Aleena +4 = 6)

 
 

(co GM) <The five proceed to another guard, who looks exactly like the statue from the South of the Border dungeon> "To get by me, you must..."

(co GM) (Yeah Aleena, Fumblies, and four friends.. two princesses, Todd and Dash.)

(ALN) (Ah! Then we all leave then. I still want to punch the guard in the face before running away though.)

(co GM) <The guard falls to the ground, crying.>

<Fumblies looks at the statue and whistles to Tus.>

Fumblies: “It would be in your best interest just to let us by.” (intimidate of 8 + 2 + 12 = 22)

Statue: "Do you not want to answer my riddles then?"

Fumblies: “And what is in it for us if we do?”

(ALN) Where did the statue come from?

Todd: "To search for the Holy Grail- blue- and African or European swallow?"

Statue: "Er.. I could let you pass without feeling guilty."

<Fumblies looks at the statue then at Tus then chuckles.>

Fumblies: "I see no real gain there. Tus destroy the statue."

<The statue runs away crying.>

<Fumblies chuckles and start walking again as Tus sighs in lament about not being able to destroy something.>

Todd: "Y'know- been a long time since I've had a good dance- Of course I always liked slow dancing with the girls down Aldara way."

<Fumblies stops to take a moment to contemplate something as he looks at Lady Goblin.> "Did you happen to have a brother?"

Lady Fumblies: "No, but I had a parasite that claimed to be my brother. A King in these parts, actually. How's old skin and virgin doing, anyway?"

(If you want Dave, you could come up through the earth and destroy them.)

<Fumblies chuckles>> Fumblies: "Dead."

Lady Goblin: "My poor beloved brother?! Oh no, this is horrible!"

Fumblies: "No the world is a safer place for his death as he was the one who raised the undead that destroyed Seaside Town."

Lady Goblin: "I'm sure he just fell in with the wrong crowd. If only I'd have been nicer to him."

<Dash, Todd, Fumblies, his soldiers, Aleena, and the two princesses walk to the edge of the camp where they find themselves faced down with several ninjas.>

Todd: "IS this where I go ‘Arrrrrr!’"

Todd: "This is where you play something to get us a miracle, Todd."

Dash: "We need to get ready for the fight of our lives.. we might not survive, especially Todd and Fumblies."

<Fumblies chuckles and looks up and notices the ninjas in front of them.>

(co GM) (Who wants to help me oversell the threat before dave crushes them like he crushes my ego when we talk?)

Todd: “Hmm... talking to myself again.” <Begins to play- this time going straight for the Death Metal>

(ALN) (I'm a little lost.)

(Scene: we're faced with several dangerous ninjas at the edge of the camp. We're all really concerned with this, and with dying from this. Aleena’s suit picks up a bond between the enemies that might be tough to overcome. A magical bond.)

(dave) (me too, you should help me- lol)

Fumblies: "Allow me a moment to discuss our leaving with these fine gentlemen."

<Fumblies steps forward.>

<Fumblies is shoved back.>

Fumblies: "Hey I only wanted to talk."

(co GM) (Weanwhile Dave, write something about your Dios coming out of the earth, or flames, or something.. and attack!)

Aleena: "What do you want?"

Ninja: "We only want what you want: us killing you in the most painful fashion possible."

<The guitar suddenly gets too heavy to hold and falls, nearly landing on Todd's toes.>

(M) (make up your mind J.)

Fumblies: "How about we pass on that and instead see who can build the best water proof sand castle?"

Ninja: "That would be awesome. I'll pencil it in for the afterlife I'm going to send you to."

(co GM) (Yeah sorry I'm waiting on Dave to join us.)

<Aleena rolls her eyes, and the princess gown she wears vanishes in a puff of smoke, leaving her in that chainmail bikini Konall created for her. She charges the ninja.>

(ALN) (I will punch you until Dave saves us!)

(co GM) <The Ninja engages her in battle. The others just watch.>

<Todd whistles.>

<Dash punches the guard holding Aleena by her wrists now. It just hurts his hand.>

(ALN) (When did a guard start holding my wrists?)

(co GM) (When you got close to him.. think of an escape if you want?)

Fumblies: "Okay how is that fair? I wanted to talk but got pushed back and Aleena just gets to run into fight." <Fumblies shakes his head and turns turn to walk back towards the prison camp with his men.>

<Dash pulls his longsword free.>

(ALN) (Would be nice if you said something about it, lol)

(co GM) (yeah, sorry)

Dash: "Fumblies, why don't you help us fight?"

(dave) (I'm getting there, btw.)

<Aleena twists to try to dodge him, using her super-human dexterity and roguishness.>

(co GM) <Todd's guitar should be light enough to pick up with effort. Aleena struggles, but needs help getting free.>

<Fumblies shrugs as he turns to look at Dash a moment before sending his warriors into fight as he casts growth on Tus.>

(co GM) <Tus starts to grow, slowly though since he's already been mutated.>

<Todd has better things on his mind- like scantily clad elves.>

(co GM) (Better help her then, Todd.)

(co GM) <Lady Goblin cheers Aleena on, empowering her.>

<Fumblies draws his sword and charges into the fray with a guttural yell.>

Todd: "OH!" <Snatches up his guitar and aims a blast of Death Metal at the ninja.>

(co GM) <Fumblies and Dash attack the one holding Aleena, or try to; the others step in their way, and are barely scratched by the attack.>

<Dash smiles.> "We're making a bit of progress.. but what if more show up?"

<Fumblies had lost it as with his miss he seems to go into a rage that would scare any normal being.> (Terrify 8 + 2 + 9 = 19)

<Aleena struggles against the ninja, looking for any opportunity to strike him.>

(dave) (That's the first bitch ninja I kill, btw. lol)

(M) (Yeah- I guess that's why J keeps saving him.)

(dave) lmao sowwy. he has a man crush on him imo.)

(dave) <The crackling sound of fire can be heard bellowing up through the ground as a man emerged from the flames. He focuses his eyes on Dash and gives a brief devilish smile before his body starts to change. His beautiful mortal face now skewed into that of a demonic beast. He surges forward towards Dash only to change direction at the last moment throwing a fire ball through one of the demons.>

(dave) <Speeding at another grabbing the ninja by the throat and crushing it slowly!!>

(co GM) <Our heroes see all of the enemies, all six remaining enemies, weaken. Aleena's suit detects a spell failing due to the two being destroyed. The demon joins us and the real battle begins!>

(co GM) ("Unwinnable battle" debuff ceases to be effective. there we go. Aleena goes first.. ready to dice?)

(ALN) (I am.)  

(co GM) (Sorry to keep it going so long before getting to a battle. Should we quick track it or do a 'real' fight for dave?)

(ALN)(Let's just do it quick, I have to go soon.)

(dave) (Ya'll can teach me later if you like. lol)

(thor) (Let’s just go quick.)

(co GM) (Okay let's; everyone just name an attack and I'll make sure I write a good result.. impress me for additional damage.)

(co GM) (You can assist each other for more dramatic finishes at any point.)

<Dash sees Aleena moving to attack and lets out a rally cry.>

<Aleena tries using a throw technique to unbalance the ninja holding my wrists. Using his own strength against him, I make sure he plants his face in the dirt before I give him a swift kick to the ass.>

(co GM) <Rallied by Dash, he goes flying to the ground. Aleena's kick to his posterior sends him into Dash's old ninja sword, which is for some reason, lying on the ground. It impales itself and dies. Er, the ninja dies, not the sword. Nobody wants a dead sword.>

<Fumblies calms down enough to focus on and move and in so doing orders his minions to come the ninjas form all sides while he and the still growing Tus charge them form the front. With each ninja he meets Fumblies hits them with either his sword or his shield.>

(co GM) (Ever see a giant ninja pulled apart by several thugs, resulting in massive blood spillage? Now you have. It scares several kung fu fighters and an onion child into passing out.>

(co GM) <Tus then smashes his way through several more enemies, aided by Aleena.>

Todd: "Running on fumes here!" <Begins playing tunes designed to heal and sooth his friends.>

(co GM) <Everyone is healed and temporarily, for the rest of the slaughter, gain 50% resistance to damage.>

<Dash starts slicing through one enemy after another. He even slices the head off a nearby black tiger. There's exactly one child ninja left facing us down.>

<The others turn towards the demon to see how it wants to handle this, making suggestions.>

Dash: "We can probably ignore the kid."

(co GM) (Anyone else want to persuade him on an action?)

<Aleena is wary of the demon. Though it hasn't attacked me yet, I am prepared to fight it.>

Jen: "What say ye on this matter, Todd Blackpaws? And why did I talk like that?"

<Fumblies sees the kid and smiles.>

Fumblies: “How about doing the wise thing and joining the smarter team?”

Kid Ninja: "Well.. you look like a good boss. And you DID kill my parents, so.."

<Fumblies chuckles.> Fumblies: "They did try to kill me first."

<Todd grins> "Hey, take it from me kids can be very dangerous. How's it going kid?"

<The creature walks towards the hole he emerged from leaning down he conjures a flames as he mumbles incoherently, from the hole comes a great ball of fire throwing it at the child causing an explosion of mass proportions.>

Lady Goblin: "Too late."

(Don't worry Fumblies.. you can keep his ghost if you want.)

<Aleena is shocked at such capricious murder of children!>

Dash: "That seemed unnecessary."

<Fumblies looks at the demon but in a moment of realization blinks as the child's ghost seems to merge into his armor.>

Aleena: "How can we tolerate such vile behavior?"

Dash: "Honestly? I don't think we're in any shape to fight him anyway."

Aleena: "I'd rather die fighting evil than watch murder."

(co GM) (We're about done. I'm pretty sure this is worth an eventual two points for us all.. well one for Dave when he makes his bio.. any stat of choice. Plus our earlier gifts. One each for Fahari and Todd.)

Todd: "I'd rather stay alive and make love all day long."

Dash: "If you want to fight it, I'm with you, Aleena."

<Aleena rushes the fiery demon, shedding the chainmail bikini in favour of her cysuit. It should protect her from the demon's flames.>

<Dash goes to pull his sword free.>

(co GM) <The demon lifts his hands in the air summoning a streak from beneath the ground as it consumes Fumbles and his soldiers in flames. They disappear right before Aleena can make contact with the demon.>

<Fumblies blinks as he looks around to see that he been teleported to the former Knob King's castle. No princess in sight. She’s still with the others.>

(co GM) (It's nice to have a truly evil Feline Empire PC since Raw vanished.)

Aleena: "Damnit!"

<Todd realizes the two princesses look worried.>

(ALN) (I've got to run. Sorryful. G'night all; I'll be back soon.)

Dash: "We'll take the whole Feline Empire down sometime."

Aleena: "We shall."

Todd begins to usher the princesses somewhere not demon battle infested...

(dave) (The demon is awesome.)

Todd: "C'mon girls- let's find some place where we can get comfortable."

<Dash nods, as he and Aleena walk with, the others long gone.>

(OH RP Is over now.)

(Did you update your inventory? I know Aleena did. I forget what Todd got.)

Exhaustingly long. Live RP's are always a bear to format.. especially when the go on like this one did.

Worth it, though! The Demon, later named "Dios," debuts and brings the player count for this one to six. Live RP's that reach the six-player mark have, so far, always been due to the Live RP having one or two debuts. In fact, you might recall, that's how Fumblies and Max Thordicus debut a few missions ago.

It was a blast co dungeon mastering this one. The cool thing is, this Live RP leads directly into a number of co writes later in the mission, with those co writes leading to even more co writes, drawing in Becky, Cattaras, and Ozzie as we go. For games like AIL, having stories 'linked' together is a fortunate (and rare) thing to have happen.

As you can see, the Live RP makes for some serious lengthy pieces! Anyway.. we'll take a couple looks at what happens to Fumblies after being unexpectedly teleported away, and then we'll get back to Dash and Aleena, as this mission continues to roll along!

Kingdom of Loathing (KOL) is a (mostly) original online game that apparently has something to do with Asymmetric Publications, LLC, and something called a Jick, who probably copyrighted it. This is the archive for an interactive writing game based on KOL, and a specific clan within- the Kingdom of KOL. Specific characters belong to their specific owners, specifically, unless specifically stated otherwise. This game was developed by Joshua A.
