Dash, Konall and the helpful bartender
Mission:  Royal Scavenger Hunt- Princesses in danger!

By Dash
Original Co write

We're back with AIL's second ever co write duo, Konall and Sebastian!

(That was in the sample mission, following Dash and Blahking. The first co write in the official mission was Dash/ Fluffy Hamster. The first co write to not involve Dash came much later, in the third official mission, with Catrina debuting Feena to AIL!

Dash arrives at the new penguin themed casino to inform Konall that Aleena is missing...

Seaside Town, the newly opened Lucky Fishin' casino

Konall drained another pint of beer and looked at Dash. “Hey, nice to see you. You have to try this. Best beer I’ve had this hour!”

Dash frowned and glanced around. They'd really buffed up the casino since rebuilding, but the Penguin Mafia influence on design was rather obvious. "Sorry, Konall. No time for drinking. Or gambling. Aleena's in big trouble."

Spaz flew in. “Guess what? They can’t read my, can’t read my, no they can’t read my poker face. I won a ton of meat!”

"Enough to cover any miscellaneous fire damage, I hope?" jokes Dash, happy to see Spaz again. Spaz shrugged. “I was on a hot streak.”

“We gotta go Spaz.” The viking was already assembling his weapons. “My gir- Aleena’s in trouble.” Konall ran out the door.

"You'd think he'd want to maybe know where to first," Dash said with a sigh, following him. Spaz trailed his left shoulder. “Yeah. Vikings are big on thinking with their gut, mostly ‘cause their brains are worn out from all the headbutts.”

Dash quickly caught up with him. "Ozzie and I are trying to track down someone to help us figure where she is. That nasty demon returned, and kidnapped her. And the princesses. By the way, any leads on the other princesses?"

Konall thought for a second. “They’re not in the casino, I checked that place out thoroughly.”

“And it was happy hour,” said Spaz.

“So who we tracking down?” asked Konall.

"Aleena, the Goblin Princess, and princess Jen Li," Dash answered with a shrug. "We've got one ally so far, and we have reason to suspect that they're being kept in the Feline Empire's stronghold. Probably in their deepest prisons, if I had to guess. As for who can help us track them down.. I have no idea. I was hoping I'd find someone useful at the casino."

Spaz pointed at Konall, “You found him instead.”

“Imps,” spat Konall. “I do know one guy who might be able to help us, um, back in the casino. The bartender. He overhears a lot of stuff.”

They walked back in.

At the bar stood a penguin in a redundant tuxedo, mixing up a martini. “Another round, my friend?”

“Business,” said Konall. “We’re looking for Aleena and a couple other princesses. Know anything?”

"Tell me more," the bartender answered, an all too slick smile on his face. "And I might be persuaded to loosen my beak for a small contribution to my retirement fund."

“She’s about yea tall, blond hair, pointy ears, known to wear a black technological-thing catsuit or a chainmail bikini with matching loincloth. And the other two are princesses.” Konall looked at Dash for help, but it was the bartender who responded instead.

"Ah, yes," he said. "A few of those irritating ratlike creatures were in here earlier, and had gotten dangerously loose lips after a few drinks which may or may not have been stronger than was asked for. After all, as we bartenders say, 'Loose lips make good tips.'"

Konall leaned in. “What’d they say?”

The penguin held out a wing, palm turned up. “You want a tip, cross my palm with meat. And I don’t mean a handshake.”

Konall slipped a steak across the bar. The penguin shrugged. Konall added a few nuggets. No response. Three dense meatstacks and a porquoise later, the bird’s memory was jogged.

"The demon and that freakish jester have secured the princess deep within the Feline Empire's stronghold, possibly without the consent or knowledge of their new.. 'queen.' They are, in fact, being kept in an old prison deep within the abandoned mines of the former Knob Goblin stronghold. There may, in fact, be other ways in aside from transversing the dangerous and hostile territory of the Feline Empire stronghold. Though these paths are by no means safe."

"Of course not," Dash answered, figuring if there was a way in, it would simply be more complicated.

Konall thought. “Forget danger, what’s the quickest way?”

The penguin seemed to shrug his flippers. "I doubt you could even buy that information. There's a multitude of long abandoned caverns, but any fool could see cave in's and explosions would have .. altered.. which paths are accessible."

"Who can we get that's good at finding their way through the twisting caverns?" Dash asked to no one in particular.

“Try the Spelunker,” no one in particular responded.

Konall shrugged. “I’ve done caves before. We can handle it on our own.”

"Thank you for your help," Dash said to the bartender. "We should see which other allies we can find."

“I don’t know.” said Konall. “I want to get there now. I’ll scout ahead, find an entrance. You round up some backup.”

"Sure thing," said Dash. "Start a few pointless brawls for me."

“Will do.”

So now we know how Dash, Konall and company plan to go about finding their way to the princesses and Aleena. There's three more pieces to go, so let's go visit with Ozzie for a short spell, then we'll get to the last two co writes and the Finale.
