Summer and Wildfall back together again
Mission:  Return to Mirrorworld

Posted by Summer
Original cowrite

Summer's handler is somewhat new to the fiction thing. I created Wildfall so we could bring the two in as a couple.

This's their second and final co write of the mission. Enjoy.

Some part of Wildfall tries to puzzle out where he and Summer have found themselves. Those weird dreams have left him and especially his friend Summer very shaken.

Summer has been very scared that she could not remember or put together what happen to them. She's starting to get angry, she doesn’t like to be scared, but she also remembers what her father always told her about fear.

Summer didn’t talk much to Wildfall; she was confused about him. Is he her friend or her foe? Wildfall doesn’t say much himself; he's trying to figure out what the hell's going on.. and if Summer could be trusted or not. At this moment, neither Wildfall or Summer trust each other nor anyone else for the matter.

Earlier, Summer had stormed out of the barren shack in the woods which they'd awaken in, leaving Wildfall to find whatever he could in the small hut before rushing to keep up with her before she got too far away. He'd found some water, and basic supplies but no food. Having been exploring the woods for the last hour or so, both are getting quite hungry. Right now, she's sick of arguing with him.

"For the last time," he says as they wander into a grove of trees, "If ya wanted some water, you shouldn't have stormed off like some kinda' outta control banshee."

Summer has lost all her patience; she picks up a tree branch lying on the ground and swung at Wildfall head but he ducks. Irritated, he tries to use his legs to sweep hers out from under her but she jumps over the move and lands on top of him, sending the water flying. The pouch gets caught on a nearby rock, spilling open.

"Well, wouldya look at what you did now?!" He pushes her off and starts to stand.

“Me?! If you would of shared the water in the first place, we would have water, bird brain.”

"Well, it was my water! But look, there's no point in arguing about it now, so I'll accept your apology and we can get moving."

"Apology my ass. If I wasn’t going to get any water, you won’t get any water either." Summer pushes pass Wildfall and continues walking along the path, without looking back.

"Hey, I'm not done with you!" he yells after her.

"Screw you," she yells without looking back as she walks along the path.

"If you don't get back here, I'm not following you!" He glares. "Get back here, coward!"

When she doesn't return, Jarlsboris Wildfall, sometimes known to Summer and his close friends as "Wildey," plops against a tree, trying to gain some of the energy that seems to be being sapped from this weird world, he figures. As he sucks in deep bursts of air, his energy seems to return to him. Maybe it's just his body adjusting to the air of this world, he figures. Where are they, anyway? Another continent or a whole different planet?

She wasn't coming back, and Wildfall's pride wouldn't let him follow her. Not yet, anyway. He could track her down if it came to that. Wildfall decides he'll take another path out of the groove and sets about finding some sort of town or sign of civilization where he could get more information on this odd new world.

Philler wants a fight. That boy don't know what he's fighting with til he gets a taste of North Ireaca violence. The leaves brushing up against Wildfall's bare skin itch irritatingly. A few odd looking monkeys stare curiously at Wildfall from a distance but hop back to the safety of the trees when he turns his annoyed gaze upon them.

Jungles irritate Wildfall, by the way. He's more used to the rolling greens and vast plains of Northern Ireaca. Being from South Ireaca, Summer has had a lot more experience with dense, thick forests.

Summer had walked away from Wildfall to keep from kicking him in the balls, figuring'd be better off looking for some form of life form or a town. Summer starts to enjoy her walk through the jungle. The tress and plants in the jungle are something she's never seen before and she wonders to herself, What is this world? She doesn't touch the plants; although they are beautiful and exotic, she's not sure if the plants and tress are poison or not.

Summer starts to feel hungry; she starts humming the tune to her favorite song to take her mind off her stomach growling. She has no idea where she's going or what she'll find. Summer makes her way deep in the jungle when she hears a sound coming from the bushes. At first, she doesn’t pay any mind to the sound coming from the bush and continues on her walk, but then she hears it again, this time a little louder.

"Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, like dinner." Smiling to her self, Summer walks towards the bush where the sounds were coming from. As Summer gets closer to the bush, a beast steps out of the bush and towers over Summer. Summer looks up over this large, lizard like being which roars inhumanely, swaying its arms and fist wildly. Oddly, the oversized abomination has a basic metal shield in one hand and a sword in the other. It's also got a chainmail tunic over its upper body. It roars and lunges to attack her.

Summer springs into action! She jumps into mid-air, kicking him in the chest. The lizard creature stumbles back but regains its battle stance, eying her like a cat eying a mouse. It dives again but much faster, forcing her to jump to the side, allowing her to just barely dodge it. Summer rolls through a bush and jumps up, pulling her knives free as she does, one in each hand. Summer stands her ground and charges toward the lizard creature. The lizard creature swings, catching Summer and knocking her to the ground.

Summer shakes herself and jumps back up before the creature gets the upper hand. Summer sees a tree and starts running towards it. She runs up the tree with quickness and jumps, landing on the lizard creature's back. Summer takes her two knives and plunge them in the lizard creature's back. The creature roars in pain and knocks Summer off its back, Summer falls off, landing on her feet, knives still in hand. Summer tries to think of a quick way to end this battle without getting seriously hurt. It's times like this she wishes she never walked away from Wildfall. Had he been here, this battle would be over by now. Summer also realizes just how weak she is from lack of food and water.

Adrenaline is pumping through her body though, probably courtesy of the drugs. All that would mean is dehydration will set in that much quicker if she overstrains herself.

Summer starts charging the lizard creature again, but this time the lizard creature twist its body and slams its shield into Summer, knocking Summer to the ground. Summer tastes blood in her mouth and realizes she is in trouble and if she didn't a handle on the situation, it could very well be the end of her. Just at that moment, the lizard creature slams Summer's legs with its shield and Summer screams in pain, feeling her knees give out. She rolls over on her back and prepares herself for the end. Before the creature can deliver the killing blow, it stumbles backwards, eyes wide in pain.

Summer blinks her eyes, trying to clear her vision, her head spinning from the battle. She'd heard a familiar sound but her mind doesn't place it. Not until she looks up and spots Jarlsboris Wildfall himself, standing over her, lazily resting his trademark wooden shillelagh over his shoulder.

"It's just like you to keep a girl waiting," she teases.

"Ya know me, always wantin' to make the dramatic entrance. What's with your new friend? He's kind of an ar.."

Whatever he was going to say is lost as the creature slams him from behind, sending him tumbling out of control. The creature turns towards Summer, who takes one of her knives and throws it, aiming between the eyes. That shield comes into play as it blocks, driving the sword at Summer, who ducks at the last second. It takes several swipes at her, which she avoids, dodging under the large sword and grabbing her discarded knife. Summer tumbles to the side and holds up both of her blades, but the creature holds up the shield in a preemptive block.

Summer is tired, hungry and in pain. "Any day now; we really need to put an end this creature's mis'able life NOW!" Summer starts running around the lizard creature trying to distract him and buy some time so she and Wildfall can finish the lizard off.

With a North Ireaca grin, Wildfall leaps forward, catching the back of the beast's right knee with his wooden shillelagh. It's enough to cause the creature to drop to one leg, leaving itself open for half a second.

A half second is more than enough time for Summer to plant one blade between the creature's eyes, and the other between its rib cages, presumably sinking into its unprotected heart. Summer and Wildfall tense up, not sure if the creature could survive that, but sure enough, it slumps forward, dead.

Good thing that oversized chain mail left plenty of gaping holes open to attack.

"Soo, what's new with you?" Wildfall asks with that devious grin of his, as if it was just another ordinary day in Ireaca.

"You thought he was a friend of mine and I was thinking he was dinner," Summer says, laughing. She walks up to Wildfall and pulls him close to her and gives him a long deep kiss and hug. She looks deep into his eyes and says "Thank You." Than she slaps him.

"Er," he says, holding his cheek. "You're welcome. And ouch."

"We can't afford to bicker like that again; we have to stick together. New rule - we can never get so mad at each other to walk off, 'cause every time we do that everything turns to shit."

"There's a settlement I saw on my way over," Wildfall says, turning his head a bit. "What do you say we go say hi?"

"Heck yeah! I just hope we can get some food, drink and somewhere so we can take a bath and get some sleep without fighting for a change."

Wildfall simply nods and leads Summer off into the direction of the settlement he'd seen earlier.

They hardly make it a dozen steps when a sudden flash of light appears in front of them and a figure emerges.

It's a fun little ride and it sets Summer and Wildfall up for the Finale. Oh and by the way, we have half a dozen more 'chapters' to cover before we get to the Finale. This was one seriously active mission!
