Roleplaying starts out with Bob!

Yup, first up is a special co-write with Shelldor, Mary Kate and Wildfall. Enjoy!

Midmorning and even with a touch of rain in the air, the Council building was hopping! A few of the adventurers in this part of the story might look familiar. Wildfall and Mary Kate were making small talk with random people as Bob the Turtle Tamer walked in.

Bob immediately went to the line for the help window, excited to receive a new familiar. One of the guards started to walk up to him to tell him pets weren't allowed in the building, but Bob’s turtle gave him such a dirty look he backed off. When Bob got to the front of the line, he was immediately handed a pile of paperwork, prompting a groan. He was pointed to a table to fill it out, passing by a cute but hyperactive ice mage, and a cute girl who had also brought familiars with her. He couldn't help but admire her obtuse angel - and the mischievous twinkle in its eye.

Bob sat at the table, and started to fill out the paperwork. Each new page brought a fresh whine. Eventually, the whining got so loud it attracted the attention of Mary and Wildfall. Mainly Mary.

"Bob! Stop whining about paperwork for your new familiar!" she yelled, causing Wildfall to jump back in surprise. "You are really being silly and need to pay attention! This is a serious matter. Look at the Notice Board; would you want that to happen to one of your familiars?"

Bob looked at the notice board. "Someone kidnapping familiars?" he asked in shock. His eyes took on a cold focus that hadn't been there before. "That is not right," he said, his voice matching his eyes.

"I understand how you feel seeing that notice, Bob, I don't think it is right either," said Mary in a softer more gentle voice as she puts an arm around Bob's shoulder. "So what do you want to do about it?"

"We need to help them, rescue them, reunite them with Susie." Bob looked more determined than he perhaps ever had. Even his turtle looked shocked at the change in Bob.

Wildfall stepped up, smiling proudly at Mary. "That is a good question, MK. But we're sticking to the plan to help Bart, right?"

Bob's turtle Shelldor looked over at Wildfall. Wait a minute, he looked familiar. Was he there, there at the end? What was his name? Windfall? Wildfail? Shelldor tried to speak to him, his voice still turtley. Of course, all the young Ireacan lad could only hear turtle noises.

Noticing the turtle seemed to be looking at his foot, Wildfall moved back cautiously. "Umm, could the owner of a mangly turtle please take it outside? I think it's sick, poor lil gal sounds like she's about to upchuck all over th' Council floor." Bob had to hold on tight to Shelldor to keep him from biting Wildfall. "Down, girl, I already got one hot tempered lass to snipe my head off."

"Wildfall, you haven't even begun to see my temper yet, but, you keep up your remarks and you will get it with both barrels, mister," snapped Mary. Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, Mary turned back to Wildfall and said, "Besides I don't have a temper but if I do, you certainly know how to push my buttons and get me riled up."

"Kinda my thing, button pressing. Comes in useful in fights, though." Wildfall blushed, still backing away from the turtle. "Ahh, I think I pushed her buttons too. Now that we know what we're doing, we better get going. Maybe we'll get lucky and beat the rain."

"I don't think we are going to beat the rain but if we leave right now, we can beat the worst of it," said Mary as she turned around and headed for the door. She was halfway to it before Wildfall even registered she was walking off and rushed to keep up.

Bob, for his part, attempted to plan. He needed to get back to his campsite and grab some familiars for this task. He was going to help Susie, and bring those familiars home.

Nice and simple. Want more Bob & Shelldor? Well, too bad! We don't see them again until the end of roleplaying, but they do make it back for a short little story and of course, they're in the Finale in a fun little piece. On the other hand, if you want more of Mary & Wildfall (and honestly, I hope you do), we've got a lot more of them throughout the mission! This is their first co-write with Bob and they're going to get more first co-writes with others. They also join up with Todd Blackpaws later - but for now, let's stick with just Wildfall and Mary next!
