Mission: Uncle Crimbo's Summertime Renaissance Southern Fair: A GROARING problem subtitle: Becky's Sour Experience Posted by SnowCatCuties Original co-write
SnowCat Cuties and Becky Joy are another pair who we get to see together quite a bit on this mission, and apart a few times as well, which is nice. It starts here, which is basically their first meeting, other than the last mission's Rollover. It's a powerful start which even took a couple of awards this mission!

"What's up, Becky?" Goblina asked as Green jumped up and looked around, worriedly. "The new chocolate bunnies are in!" Becky jumped around in place. Then she quickly got bored of that and stopped. Then she realized she was standing still and started jumping again. Finally, after a few minutes she added, "And I like that!" "Ohh, okay," Goblina finally responded. Just then, SnowCatCuties walked in the shop whistling and holding a weird gadget on her head. She moved along sideways in a jiggly motion as she looked at the sweets. "Yes!" she shouted, picking up a bag of sweets. Clueless, Becky answered, "Yes I do like it!" Snow span around and almost walked into Becky. "Oh sorry I didn’t see you there. How are you?" She took the gadget off her head, a faint sound coming from them. Becky giggled. "The same person I was the last time you saw me! Hi!" "Huh, what?" Snow replied confused. "I am still Becky Joy." Becky giggled and glanced around. "Oh hi, I’m SnowCat. How are you? Hey have I seen you before?" "Yes!" Becky paused, tilting her head. "How come?" "You look familiar and I’m bad at keeping in contact with people. I move around too much." Becky frowned. "B-b-but it was just at the big fight! I got knocked out so I'm sorry! That is probably why you don't remember me!" Becky made a big pouty lip. "Awww don't look sad. I do remember you, it's just names that slip my mind. Here. I'll make it up to you. I'm going to buy these sweets and I'll give you one. They are lovely." Snow shook the bag in her hand. Becky clapped wildly and bounced up, excited. "I like candy! I like coloring too!" "That's settled then." Snow moved to the counter picking more sweets off the counters as she went. She paid for the items and handed Becky the small round sweet. It was white in colour and looked like it was covered in sugar. "Thankies!" Becky smiled, not sure if she should take it or not. "Try it, it's my 'Sorry' gift. If you don't like it, I'll give you a different one." Becky tilted her head. "How do I know if I like it?" "By putting it in your mouth and tasting it." Snow giggled. "You try too!" Becky insisted, getting excited and giggling. "I've had them before but ok." Snow smiled and fished one out for herself. She held it up and started to count down. "On three ok? One.. two.." "Okay.." Becky paused. "A! B!" "Three!" Snow put it in her mouth. "You forgot orange! Nevermind, three!" Becky put it in her mouth.. and quickly made a face. Snow looked at her confused. "You ok?" Despite herself, Becky kept sucking on it.. but made an even worse face. "Oh sorry, I should have said it's sour to start but that goes soon. Also I probably shouldn't have have given you the lemon and lime one first. I have a berry one," Snow added and she fished out the berry one. Becky took it out of her mouth finally, licked it again, made a face, and then innocently asked, "Wanna trade?" Snow giggled. "I have one but you can give it to your friends if you want. Did you want a berry one? Or a different sweet altogether?" Snow digged into her recent purchase and pulled all sorts of sweets out. There were small ones and big ones and long ones and more. Becky paused and turned to Goblina. "Do you want?" Goblina shook her head. "Um.. no thanks, Becky. You keep enjoying it." Snow giggled and pointed out, "The sourness does fade." She then offered sweets rounds to everyone. "T-t-thanks!" Becky's other Goblin Green answered, sounding scared. "Don't need to look scared, I've just bought these," Snow reassured. "S-s-sorry," Green answered, flinching. "But it's my defining personality trait." "It's ok and no need to be sorry. If it's you then it can't be helped." Snow smiled. Just then the shopkeeper walked in from the back and instantly noticed Snow. "Oh my god!!! It's you!!! You came back!!! I'm so sorry about last time and I'm so grateful. I was just in shock and didn't know what to do." He came over with a slight limp and shook Snow's hand. Green noticed. "Did she hurt you or something?" "No no, she saved me or my shop." He nervously patted Snow on the back. "I was being robbed and she stopped the guy and got my stuff back." "Aww it was nothing." Snow beamed with delight. That sincerely confused Becky. "Wait.. how did you stop a robber by doin' nothing? Huh?!" Snow giggled. "No no, I just caught him as he was trying to get away and brought him back. That rat is now in prison and paying for his crimes. It's just what I do." "Well that isn't 'nothing.'" Becky shrugged. "But you are the neko. You know best!" Snow flattered. "Aww thanks, really?" Suddenly, the shopkeeper shrieked and flapped his hands about while attempting to bounce on his uninjured foot. "Eeekk!! Did you guys see the commotion by the mansion? There was so much going on, I didn't dare get close." Becky giggled. "We were there!" "Oh my god!!! Really? What happened?" He looked at her so intensely that his gaze could have burned a hole. Becky shrugged. "Oh, were you there too?!" "No I wasn't, I didn't want to get too close with my bad foot," explained the Shop keeper. "I thought I'd only hold everyone back." "That's ok." Snow started to tell the story of the big fight with Becky. Unfortunately a customer (whose name possibly was A. Customer) came in and they had to cut the story short. "We should pick this story up in another piece," suggested Becky Joy, sad that story-time was now over. "Yes!" Snow agreed, "I think I saw a diner somewhere around here, give me a sec." She took out a gadget and pushed a few buttons. "Yes there is cafe called Dig out not far from here. OH WAIT!!! There is a diner called Mummy's Yummies a couple of corners from here. We could meet up and get food, what do you all say?" Now bouncing with excitement. Goblina smiled. "I hear their salads are excellent." "Do they got good pizza burger-dogs?!" Becky asked hopefully. "I am hoping that you say yes." Snow almost drooled at what Becky said. The shopkeeper, looking oddly at Snow, replied with "I know that place and I think they do. I could close up after this customer and we could head there together. I'd love to hear the story." "No no, you should keep this shop open. We can meet up another time. Do you have a day off or what time do you close?" Snow asked. The shopkeeper stopped to think for a minute. "I normally close up about 6 each day but I could get someone to cover me for a day off. When do you want to go?" "We could go in the evening. No need to lose money on wages for a story. I happy with any evening, Becky?" Snow looked at Becky for a response. Becky giggled. "Okay, you two got a date! Now let's go already! I mean.. can we please go please? Also: chocolate yum!" They arranged a time and went their separate ways.
Did you enjoy? Hopefully.
"Goofy and cute," the voter calls it. That's the ideal tone for Becky stories, probably, although she does get serious every now and then.
I'm sure I'll have plenty to say on Snow and Becky as we go, and her Goblins, although they get a few lines in here, get more attention during later roleplays. This was a short and sweet one to bring the two together, though. (Voter Ichiro commented that the fast pace helped the piece.) The voter loved the part with Becky trying the sour sweet, or a Warhead as he called it!
In fact, Becky eating the warhead earned this co-write two awards! It took the award for Funniest moment with the voter calling it "just delightful." And since it was a gift from SnowCat, the bit was also eligible for The Stocking Stuffer award for best use of a gift, which it won!
So yeah- it was a really strong showing for the two! Next up are Morlencir Jen and Sebastian Dash!
