Mission: Transision mission: mafia town Posted by Alys Original co-write
In the second of three Alys/ Wildfall co-writes for the mission, Wildfall and Alys arrive in town.
It's got a lil more meat on it than the last piece. As you'll see, the RP title is derived from an exchange in it.

"So tell me all about yourself," Wildfall said, biting his lip as he did. "Well.. tell me a little bit about yourself." "Well, I come from the distant woods, where my clan lives. I spent many summers hunting the imps that infest parts of the forest." Wildfall nodded. "Cool. I stick mostly to the Plains, I guess. Probably why I haven't seen you. Or any of the other elves." "Our clan hasn't been getting out much lately. We've become too insular with our own problems." Wildfall flipped his weapon in the air, catching it as they walked. "What kinda problems? Hope it isn't slavers again. I hate those guys." "Are slavers a problem in your Kingdom?" Alys asked. Wildfall shrugged. "It isn't really my Kingdom. I just got dumped here by a portal a few months ago. It's.. a long story." "Sounds like it. Our problems, as I said before, are more of the Hey Daze variety. Mainly imps brought over by idiots." "Imps like Hey Daze?" Wildfall shook his head. "I went there once. Not pleasant." Alys shrugged and walked on. The two walked in silence into the deepening afternoon until they arrived at town. Unfortunately, there was a line of mafia penguins blocking entrance to the town, but that was to be expected. Wildfall turned to the wood elf. "Play along with, I know what I'm doing." "Alright," she said. "I can disavow you easily enough if you screw up."
Wildfall blinked. "Well.. yeah. I guess you could. Ready?"
Wildfall took her by the hand, surprising her, and walked towards the guards. "Hey, guys. She's with me." "Yeah, thanks for that," she muttered, looking cross. Wildfall flashed an apologetic look. The head guard called out, "Who the heck are you?!" "The Council sent us," Wildfall said. "Or at least, they told us to see if we could help." The penguins grumbled to each other. The smartest looking penguin stepped forward. "Okay, but if you try anything wise, you might find out what happens to wise guys." Alys elbowed Wildfall. "You'll have no trouble from him." Wildfall glanced over. "She always keeps me in line. We've been accomplices for a while now." Alys turned, punched Wildfall squarely in the head, then strolled passed the guards without another word. Wildfall rubbed his head where she hit him and then shrugged it off.
The penguins backed off. "This one is a handful, yeah? You had better give her the pass. Some of the guards in the town might not be so.. understanding of a fresh romance."
"What do you want, dumbass?" Alys asked. "We're in a town filled with penguins," Wildfall called out. "Maybe you should slow down a bit before you get tossed in a brig or kneecapped?" "I'm looking for other elves. I'm not here to bother other penguins." Alys looked at the two passes Wildfall held. She took one. "Guess I need this." Wildfall nodded. "These guys are mafia. They don't really care if you're gonna bug them or not. They only let us in 'cause they think we're helping them." "Why would we help criminals and thugs?" Alys asked. Wildfall shrugged. "So they'll get out of town? Council made an agreement with them. I figure we can play along, and if they try to double cross us, we'll be in a better position to deal with it, hopefully. Fingers crossed. Didn't you know any of this was going on when you decided to head to Seaside Town?" "Of course not. If the council's too weak to enforce its own laws, perhaps we should give it a hand." Alys turned to look for the nearest penguin. "What are you doing?" Wildfall rushed to keep up. "What're you up to now, hothead?" "Pound every penguin there is until there are none left," Alys said with determination. Wildfall grabbed her by the shoulder. "That isn't gonna work." "Why not?" Alys asked. "They're a lot like imps, and I beat them up all the time." "What?!" Wildfall shook his head in disbelief. "These are way tougher than imps! They're also a lot more organized, and there's a lot more of them in town." Alys frowned. "Very well, we'll play this your way." "Trust me," Wildfall said. "I'd like to slap them around too. It just doesn't work like that." "Alright. What are you going to do then?" Alys asked. "Talk to them," Wildfall said. "Outsmart them. Figure what they want, and while we're giving it to them, figure out what they're up to. Ya know, basic group manipulation stuff. I'm sure you're familiar with it." "I suppose. Very well, so long as it leads to wrecking penguins, I'm in." Alys said.
Yeah.. I really liked how that unfolded. Heh.
Let's get to their third of three pieces and maybe I'll have more to say on the two.
