Transition mission: mafia town - Season Three, Mission #0
Rollover and Finale written by Alys, Blackeagle, Sir Fumblies, Shelldor and Jarlsboris Wildfall

Historical recap: Early AIL stories have been dominated by three-way wars between the KOKOL, the penguin mafia and the Knob Goblins, with Degrassi Knoll originally stuck in the middle. Later stories focused more on the Goblin Kingdom falling under Catrina Whiteclaw and later, Kadlin Bearsmasher. The twin takeovers had severe fallout, with Catrina bearing an infant child during her time as queen and later coming to regret her actions, which were ultimately proven to be the effect of a magic spell unleashed against her. Kadlin, upon realizing the dark path she set down, paid with her life after nearly bringing an end to this world and worlds beyond. It was during this chaos that the penguin mafia seized control of Seaside Town while the Knob Goblins rebelled against Kadlin.

Although Catrina's Feline Empire was at odds with KOKOL, they often worked together, battling zombies in Seaside Town and later travelling to Honorburg, where several key figures from both factions were teleported to the otherwordly "Flipworld," a world which was in many respects the opposite of our home world. Sassy Snake returned when our heroes did, although the strain on both factions lead to Sir Fumblies (of the Feline Empire) and KOKOL veteran soldier Konall Bearsmasher breaking off to form a third faction, later named the Blood Clan. With Konall dead, Fumblies seems to be the sole leader of the Blood Clan.. for now.

The Story so far: Season three starts off with the Council desperate to regain control of Seaside Town, even if it means taking an unconventional approach to it...

We started off season three in a tough spot. For the first time in AIL history, the character bio page format was changed, meaning even our older characters had to submit updated apps. With a lot of regular handlers showing up less or not at all (Sebastian Dash, Aleena and Catrina Whiteclaw are nowhere to be seen), and several of our old reliable handlers having long left the game, we ended up with less activity than would be ideal.

Fortunately, it is the sample mission, anyway, so it's in keeping with the last two sample missions in terms of overall activity.

We have a new player character debut during roleplaying and another in the finale, though. So that's a plus.

Most of the roleplaying involves setting up characters to go to Seaside Town, and only in a few cases getting there, so there's a lot to cover in the two part Finale.

Feature character: Alys! She debuts this mission and starts in back-to-back co-writes with Wildfall. The two have a unique chemistry going and they seem to argue and bicker a lot. Alys shines as we meet her and start to learn a little about her and her background.
Feature character: Shelldor. He makes his return as a very different character. To say any more at this point would spoil it but his story should be a very, very interesting one.

Sassy Snake kicks off things, although only shows up for that one roleplay. It's a very well written and humorous read, however. Bristle, Linger, and Icy are back for this one, too. She continues her unique story here, keeping the threads from her last story.
Jarlsboris Wildfall is still at it. The Ireacan lad never gives up. He reflects on the mission with Todd before joining up with Alys and finds his way into town, where his wits and mouth seem to serve him well - and get him in a few spats. He manages to keep that Ireacan charm flowing throughout the mission.
Todd Blackpaws brings his charms, at least for the big co-write and the Finale. It's fun seeing him with Wildfall for a bit.
Cattaras Whiteclaw and Jen of the Morlencir are only seen briefly in the co write with Wildfall & Blackpaws, but shine in the Finale and next mission's Rollover.
Becky Joy just makes a cameo for Sassy Snake this time around.

Information
Season 3 Rollover Dash yes Along with a short recap on seasons 1 and 2, the season kicks off with the Council of Loathing deciding to work with the penguin mafia, since they've taken over Seaside Town. However, there's also a resistance group that would rather sneak into Seaside Town and try to physically remove the Penguins. It's up to each Adventurer to decide which side they'll work with.
Meetings, eatings and greetings Sassy Snake yes Becky Joy cameos to tell Sassy and her friends about the Council meeting, which Sassy, Bristle, Icy and Linger are just confused by. Becky then sends them to look for the Resistance meeting, but Sassy and co. just get handed dozens of flyers instead! They also run into Ravyn Wing, who has sided with the Vikings.
Coffee Break Blackpaws, Cattaras, Jen and Wildfall no After a long jog, Wildfall sees Todd Blackpaws standing over him with a hot cup of coffee. The two discuss their options for the battle when Cattaras suddenly leaps over them, with Jen in hot pursuit. While Jen pins down a willing Cattaras, Wildfall fills them on the mission. They end up agreeing to help the Council and Penguins.. reluctantly.
Wildfall, meet Alys! Alys and Wildfall yes (Co-Op) Wildfall meets the debuting Alys, the wood elf, at a Degrassi bakery. Interested in what he knows about the space elves, she accepts his offer to take her with him to Seaside Town.
Hothead and Dumbass (Wildfall/ alys II) Alys and Wildfall NO (Co Op) After learning a little about Alys, Wildfall gets them into town, saying she's with him (which she doesn't like). After the two argue, he talks her out her of plan to attack the penguins one at a time. She reluctantly agrees to do things his way.
Mission assignment Alys and Wildfall no (Co Op) Wildfall and Alys are ushered into a building by penguins, who demand to see their passes. After showing the passes, they have to choose a mission. Wildfall's surprised when she chooses the mission to break the knees of Goblin thugs who owe the penguins money - but Alys has something different in mind.
Bob's hunt for cereal Shelldor no (VRS) In this odd little story, the once powerful Avatar of Boris Shelldor wakes up to find he's.. now a turtle? With no memory of his demise, he explores his new setting, to find out he's a familiar for the lazy Bob. Unable to understand what Shelldor wants, Bob takes Shelldor along with Bob's other familiars to Seaside Town. On the way, he runs into Vikings battling some sort of zombies. Shelldor manipulates Bob into joining the fight, and the Vikings - resistance members- bring Bob along for their mission to Seaside Town.
Mission Finale Part I Alys, Shelldor and Wildfall N/A The pieces start to come together as Bob (with turtle Shelldor) and the Vikings meet up with another group of Vikings, which include Rayvon (Ravyn), Jen and Cattaras.

Meanwhile, Alys and Wildfall go about the city warning Knob Goblin punks that the penguin mafia might set out to break their legs for debts owed. (They also deal with an ambush off camera.) Todd, Sassy and her squad enter town on the council's side. Jen and Catt prepare the Vikings, Bob and Ravyn to sneak into town.

Mission Finale Part II Alys, Blackeagle, Fumblies, Shelldor and Wildfall yes A certain someone, named later in the piece, offers Council of Loathing member Cheatum an envoy to maintain the peace in Seaside Town.

Meanwhile, as the Viking crew (with Rayvon, Jen and Catt) prepare and then move into town, taking up the library in the Wrong Side of the Tracks, Todd Blackpaws (along with Sassy and her crew) run into an old friend of Todd's and are forced to improvise... and deal with 8-bit enemies from a portal. Shelldor tries to piece together details of his demise. Later, Ravyn makes a scene when she runs into Sassy Snake and the attention of the penguin mafia is drawn. The three sides investigate a disturbance coming from the library, which turns out to be a portal. A three way battle- the underground resistance vs the penguins vs the extradimensional magical demon summoning bugbears- ends when the aforementioned 'certain someone' shows up. Wildfall, Alys and the others try to reach a peaceful solution.

Capping it all off, that 'certain someone' stars in the debut of Blackeagle who have to deal with Bones and his group of thugs, including a couple of former Elite 8.
