MISSION INFORMATION
The spoiler notes for the mission which takes AIL to the heroic, relatively futuristic world of Honorburg!

MISSION INFO

-------------
This was a hell of a mission, too, seeing Cyber Sunset debut and some returning figures to AIL. Roleplaying moves our adventurers from the Kingdom to the city in search of the final three missing princesses.. Check out the mission itself for more information on what went down, or skip to the spoilers below!

Pieces missing notes:

Aleena, Becky, Cattaras, Cyber Sunset, and Dash

Gathered around her are KOKOL representatives Prince Blahking, Aleena, and Sebastian Dash as well as Feline Empire representatives Sir Fumblies, Cattaras Whiteclaw, and Kadlin Bearsmasher, and finally, Council representatives the Nice Sorceress, the scamtasterous Dewey, Smackdown supreme supervisor Gunther, and Council Friends member Mendy.

A scene from the Rollover for this mission. This mission is sending us to Honorburg (or Honourberg, if you prefer.) How you get there is entirely up to you. Spend a roleplay or two building up to it, or skip past it and summarize how you got there.

Being as it's a city from Dash's history, as you can see in the Honorberg links above, there's been a couple things defined about the city.. but not too many. As such, feel free to use your imagination to fill the blanks in, or go by what I've written or contact me if you want to help present a more unified view of the city.

There's really only two important parts to the city and any suburbs you might use. The tech level should be loosely considered somewhere around the 20's through 40's. And it's a pastiche of any sort of super hero influence you could imagine. There's slums, higher class sections of the city, parts, and more. (Maybe not highways since that'd be a bit too technologically advanced.)

Oh, and it's crawling with heroes and villains of all sorts.

Expect somewhere around six weeks roleplaying for this one.

Any questions, post here or in the general game discussion boards, or PM me, please.

Dash, Fahari and Todd - archive copy
Posted by: Dash

Our first roleplay of the mission has Todd Blackpaws tracking down Sebastian Dash, who informs Todd of the expected travel to Honorburg. Todd is more interested in delivering Dash to meet with the just debut Fahari, who brings Dash news on two fronts.

She warns him of the slavers from the Aldaran region have come to reclaim 3 dangerous, escaped former slaves. Cattaras, Catrina and Daisuke. She also delivers a less straight forward message, saying she'd had a vision of her Goddess, who sent Fahari to this region to give Dash some rather cryptic messages, telling Dash "not to despair- for the trial has only just begun- and his battle has not yet been lost." Referring to Dash as a "Champion (who's) battle is not over- even if (he) may think it is."

Cryptic stuff. Dash invites her on the mission. She accepts, and prepares to go with Todd to the Weeping Tree in.. while Dash goes back to his campground to prepare himself for the mission ahead.

Dash and Aleena's first of two - archive copy
Posted by: Dash

Coming off of the last roleplay (his meeting with Fahari), Dash returns to camp only to find Aleena waiting and eager to escort him to Honorburg. Aleena helps Dash pick out some travel clothes... the two then basically seduce each other for a while. Afterwards, remembering he was supposed to meet Fahari and Todd at the Weeping Tree inn & bar, they rush via Dash's horse to make the meeting.

Worth noting here - Aleena confesses she's from the stars to Dash. Dash implies he was a bit of a 'playboy' in his younger years.. (She also finds a 'technologically advanced' outfit of Dash's.. something from Honorburg. She approves of the style.)

Following their sexy little romp, Dash and Aleena get to the Weeping Inn tavern, used in the past to debut both Vivace and Vixen.. this's for Dash's meeting with Todd and Fahari- Fahari's finishing fighting off a few thugs who got a little too fresh when Sebastian arrived with the elf.

After a little talking and teasing back and forth, the thugs Fahari beat up come back to apologize. Turns out they're members of a pirate crew Dash knows quite well from the Chrono Quest. Coconuts, one of the pirates Dash and Catrina teamed with during the Chrono Drago crisis, is makin' sure the pirates apologize to Fahari for their ill manners earlier.

So Coconuts, findin' out our heroes are seekin' a ship.. offers- pending Captain's approval- to give 'em a ride over.

We'll see how this goes in the near future since we've got some fun twists planned.

Oh and the others quickly became aware of Dash and Aleena's romp from the previous RP!

Becky and Cattaras's only - archive copy
Posted by: Cattaras

A basso voice is heard offstage. "They forgot to do this before the left, didn't they?"

Daisuke pads on stage. The big lion's manly physique softened somewhat by the baby tiger he holds in one arm as he bottle feeds it.

He growls at the camera. "Okay, meat- Listen up! New RP is up where the Feline Forces- namely my mate, her brother and that little Mage Becky Joy- discuss the misson- among other things."

The big guy mutters. "Man, we gotta find that boy a mate before he starts playing with the herd..."

He clears his throat. "Anyway, Catrina gives her brother Bad Beats so he can wear it, knowing full well what it's gonna do to that scrawny moron Dash." He chuckles.

"So, after deciding to go off and find this meat named Morgan and book passage on his boat the others went off to get ready- while my mate and I said our goodbyes- Several times- Loudly." He smiled smugly.

"So anyway, that's what happened. Now beat it- I got things to..."

Daisuke sniffed then growled, looking at the baby.

"Man! We don't feed you anything you filled another diaper already?"

Aleena, Dash and Cattaras - archive copy

We start out with Dash and Aleena on board of the pirate ship that'll give them passage over to Honorburg, with him telling her a little about his history with Captain Morgan and Catrina. Reference the season 1 Chrono Quest for full details.

They're called to the Captain's office, where they see Catrina and Cattaras (who's holding Dash's old broadsword, Bad Beats!), who are now Dash and Aleena's shipmates! The captain insists they put their problems aside for the rest of the ride.

Catrina and Aleena catfight in the floor, but Rebecca aka Coconuts, with a reluctant captain, break up the fighting. Annoyed, Aleena promises they'll get Dash's sword back, and she and Dash quickly make their leave, ending the co write.

Cyber Sunset's only solo - archive copy
Posted by: Cyber Sunset

Cyber Sunset, when first seen in Honorburg, is entering the "secret floor" of the RKO radio tower, having just stolen a passphrase for a Solitaire Cipher from a 5th Column member. The cipher is cracked with the passphrase on a stolen (and modified) variety of Enigma Machine, and Cyber Sunset (while drinking hot chocolate) learns of a mysterious plot by persons unknown involving kidnapped foreign dignitaries. Seeing that a ship from that region is soon to come to port, an investigation is called for.

Also of note: Cyber Sunset's "friendship" with Alex (or "Demesne") is brought up, Demesne probably being more magically inclined than Cyber Sunset.

Sir Fumblies's only solo - archive copy
Posted by: Sir Fumblies

A long awaited meeting pretty much has Fumblies FINALLY getting to talk with Lady Goblin. As they talk it is finally arranged that she join him on his journey to Honorburg.

Note: There is more to the conversation than implied above but that is the most important bit for the sake of this summary.

Aleena and Dash's last co write - archive copy

RP notes for Dash and Aleena on the Prowl

We got a little roleplay up of Dash and Aleena on the ship on the way over. We expect one or two roleplays to follow this up and get us over to Honorburg.

Dash told her a bit about the city and its threats. She talks about how there's many space elves, but the suit reacts uniquely to each wearer's desires and personality. So some are more like heavy suits, meant for combat, while others are more suited for scientific study.

We also mention the criminal she was chasing whom is presumed dead. And they talk about the uniqueness of the KOL world, in addition to chatting it up with a couple pirates.

Seems there is a few giant monsters in Honorburg, possibly including.. a giant octopus?!

Becky and Zanther's only co write - archive copy
Posted by: Becky

The shocking return of Zanther Wolf, as he convinces Becky not to attempt to steal a pair of jewels (or something) on behalf of Catrina's baby.. It's weirder than it sounds.

Then the two set off.. somewhere.. Wolf reluctantly follows Becky, upset by her change, and not trusting Becky's four trademark Knob Goblins.. smile.gif

was a FUN rp though! (Set in Honorburg.)

IF I can get this RP with someone written.. I'll flashback later and we'll learn a bit about how she got to Honorburg on the pirate ship.

Becky, Cattaras and Zanther - archive copy
Posted by: Becky

We had a much bigger chunk of roleplaying this time.. and Cattaras showed up at the end.

Despite the obvious moral divide between Wolf and Becky on the idea of 'stealing' right now, the two continue to seem friendly towards each other.

Becky is blasted by an unknown firebolt. A few minutes later, the Heckions, a local gang, engage them, but Wolf, Becky and the Goblins are able to chase them off.

They decide they'll take the local trolleys towards another part of the city to continue looking for the princesses, but run into a battle between the Heckions and another gang- the Bay City Bullies.

Becky and her Goblins want to just watch.. but Wolf notices there's innocents caught in the crossfire, so they move to help. After another tough battle, Becky and Wolf come out victories.

They proceed towards the trolley, soon boarding it. Cattaras, doing his own thing, ends up on the same trolley, much to Becky's delight.

Wolf doesn't know what to think about the big cat but the two get along, possibly for Becky's sake.

Score card - archive copy

Our fifteenth mission is finally wrapped up as of the posting of the three part mission finale!

I was involved in writing every roleplay except for Cyber Sunset's debut, and I think I helped with ideas for that one (not totally sure) so I'm a little burned out, and it's a bit hard to comment on this one.

Thankfully, I've got an independent voter to handle this! Ichiro once again voted. I'll start with a few areas of concern, in case people want to work on improving them.

Like previous missions, he mentions feeling a lack of plot movement (mostly in favor of character pieces) as being a flaw again. There's a mention of lack of descriptions and too much dialogue heavy pieces as well.

I think more pieces not involving Becky or Dash would help give things variety, personally. Since we have Cyber Sunset on board, and I'm hoping for more action from Fumblies, Shamus and Ozzie, this will improve. I still view this as a very strong mission. Fahari gets something outside of a Live RP, Zanther Wolf makes a very long awaited return, and Aleena, Dash, Fumblies and Cattaras continue with strong showings. The mission saw 10 total participants ranging from Vixen, who only gets a single point to..

The winner of the mission via vote (and the 20 points), Becky Joy! Ichiro calls her work 'shining' and cites the Becky cowrite with Zanther Bullies and Heckions!- the strongest roleplay of the mission, edging out The Ride to Honorbrug... and Cyber Sunset to take the designation. (Becky had a small part in that co write, too!)

Though she doesn't get anything with Fumblies this mission- a casualty of Fumblies only being able to show up once for the mission- she does get a tiny piece with Vixen. Becky also shows up for the big 'heroes misunderstand and fight' piece, in addition to getting some great interaction with both Zanther and Cattaras, both of whom work well with Becky. I'm proud of her performance this mission.

Tied for second piece, Aleena and Dash each earning 18 points. Not too surprising; aside from Dash's meeting with Fahari, which is seen as a bit weak by the voter, Aleena and Dash appear, pretty much as equals, in every piece this mission. If one's there, so is the other. (Dash's extra activity is countered by Aleena being a much bigger focus in the first half of Top Speed. Ichiro sees it as, in his words, "fantastic work, though not without a couple rough patch, most in the pacing of plot."

It's enough to take 'em to the number two spot! So the next spot would be number four with 16 points... Zanther Wolf! Complimented in his ability to play a non speaking character "effortlessly." He noted characters that don't speak are "CRAZY DIFFICULT TO PLAY." In caps. Yet Ichiro feels Wolf pulled it off with such skill as to be effortless. In fact, he said only the "sheer volume of quality work" from the higher scorers kept Z. Wolf from coming in first or second.

Wolf returned in a co write with Becky, then joined her and Cattaras in a three person write. Note the early parts of Wolf's first roleplay was much more focused on Becky.. but the second roleplay was mostly Wolf and Becky. Before this, Wolf last wrote for AIL all the way back in season one's Faction Satisfaction mission, where he debut. That's back in late 2009. I hope we don't go another year and a half without seeing him!

Cattaras pulls up in the next spot with 13 points, ranking number five.

The voter refers to him as a "good antagonist" (but lacking conflict in a lot of this mission). He came into his own through co writes with Aleena, Dash, Becky and Wolf. I'd love to see even more of the "big cat." Especially now that he has Dash's broadsword.

Ten points go to Sir Fumbles, the sixth ranked character of the mission. He only pulls in a single roleplay (Well, I wrote the princess's lines, but she's NPC.) But it was a solid one from someone the voter considers to have "IT, that thing that will grace Fumbles writing that makes me want to keep reading." In his own words.

Cyber Sunset debuts at seventh place, 8 points. Debuting late meant he didn't get as much in as some of the others. He had a solo debut piece and was the center of the big fight piece, and also shows up again near the end of roleplaying to drop in on a Dash/ Aleena roleplay.

The others got less activity. 7 points to Todd Blackpaws. Five points to Fahari, and as I said earlier, 1 point to Vixen. Not much to say there, although they're all characters who could easily shoot up to the middle of the rank if they get enough worthwild story development.

Let's update our to date rankings for AIL Season 2.

1) Sebastian Dash barely holds the lead at 43 points.

2) Aleena pulls up behind Dash with 42 points and could easily overtake him.

3) Becky continues to come into her own, with her win taking her to 38 points.

4) Fumblies is trailing her at 34 points after a weak showing, due to real life issues. That said, expect him to be a force from here on out.

5) Taking Catrina's place for the new season, Cattaras has etched 30 points so far.

6) Ozzie has 19 points from his debut last mission. I am told we might see him in the next mission, though.

7) Zanther returns this mission, which accounts for his 16 points. Welcome back, Zanther!

8) (tie) Konall has made a couple missions so far, for a total of 15 points. More to come! Tied with Todd.

8 (tie)) Yeah, Todd Blackpaws also has 15 points. He's very slowly coming into his own as a PC the second season.

10) Dios debut with 10 points, which he earned in the first official mission.

11 (tie)) Fahari is just now getting to be seen outside Live RP's. So far, she's racked up 9 points.

11 (tie)) Samus XTreme has also earned 9 points..

13 (tied)) Cyber Sunset debut this mission with 8 points.

13 (tied)) Not seen this mission, Kadlin remains tied with the debuting Cyber Sunset at 8 points.

15) Vixen inches her way up to 3 points.

16) Werevamp remains at the end of the pack with 2 points.

EDIT- 17) I left out Armus, who's got a single point from the sample mission.

Thanks to all who roleplayed and participated in co writes, Ichiro for voting, and Mitch and Audrey (Katlana) for helping with separate parts of the Finale.
