Mission: Konall's Grudge subtitle: Kadlin's 'business deals' Posted by Original Rollover
This is a delightfully quick little Rollover by Cameron. It establishes the threat of Kadlin quite well. Coming off the highly successful Holiday mission, this changes the focus of AIL to Kadlin and basically starts her ascension into the 'big bad' of the second half of Season 2.

Kadlin moved forward, flanked by 2 of her brutes, 2 chef mages, and 2 of her elites. "What's your offer?" said one of the gnolls, a man who'd been farming his entire life by the look of it. She decided to name him Stinky. "I can give you each 3000 meat for your family plots." The twelve knolls debated amongst themselves, but the answer that came out of their discussion was a no. "Sorry," said Stinky, "But we can't sell for that low. I need to feed my family during the time it takes me to get a new job, and that ain't enough." Kadlin had anticipated this, and unleashed the bound energy she'd prepared into tentacles of pure stench, which tore Stinky limb from limb. Kadlin motioned for her two chefs to move towards the pieces of the body. "Butcher him." She turned to the remaining farmers, standing in shock. "Well," said Kadlin "It looks like I just got a recent surplus of meat. Dividing his share among you, and with the extra meat I got from him, I can now afford 3400 meat for each of you. Do you accept, or should I acquire more funds?" Their deeds were out in seconds, and within minutes Kadlin owned half the farmland in the knoll. These idiots couldn't see the importance of her work. The only thing they could understand was fear, and so she'd had to speak their language. It was a hard but simple truth. Kadlin went back to tending her mushroom fields, the farmers already forgotten. When her ritual components were ready, she'd be prepared to break one of the seals on the sword, granting her greater access to power from the being trapped within.
It really sums up Kadlin's shift into evil. It's a fairly short mission but let's dig into it, anyway!

In other words, I don't own KOL, or KOKOL, and KOKOL doesn't own KOL.
