Return to Hey Daze (ran Aleena, Kadlin Bearsmasher, Sebastian Dash, Sir Fumblies, Cattaras Whiteclaw and Zed Shinestone)
Mission logo by our voter Ichiro

Historical recap: Catrina Whiteclaw made her debut way back in Chrono Quest, pouncing and joining Sebastian Dash for an adventure in the Mysterious Island of Mystery. This was around the time Konall discovered an ebony blade (I think it's the one mentioned here which, as it turns out, contained an evil spirit that tried to possess Konall and later his sister. (Buried here.)

While Konall vanished for a while, Dash and Catrina established themselves as both heroes and a part of the Kingdom of KOL clan, in spite of those who questioned their loyalties early on. They survived the Chrono Dragon crisis, Catrina's first adventure, and went on to battle the Penguin Mafia, the Knob Goblins and their dangerous Elite Seven, and even ventured to Hey Daze in a doomed attempt to save the lost souls of their stranded clanmates.

Catrina put aside her history to work with the Elite Seven's Amruas, Daisuke and Cattaras (now her sworn enemies) to get into Hey Daze.. However, Daisuke and Cattaras used the oppertunity to set a plot into motion. Their goal? To bring Catrina over to their 'dark' side. The plan eventually backfired, however. Catrina's dark side took control of her, driving her to betray Dash and the rest of her friends. In an ironic twist, Catrina took over the Knob Goblins, recruited a handful of her old allies, and remade Knob Goblin kingdom into the Feline Empire.

The Story so far: More recently, in spite of nearly killing Sebastian Dash, Catrina's natural good side started to establish dominance. Unfortunately, the Jester King of Beasts, the mastermind behind her original corruption, had a safeguard in place. She found herself unwillingly drawn to an open portal and into Hey Daze.. where she feared her soul would rot forever for the sins beyond her control...

With Catrina gone, Kadlin, now fully corrupted by the ebony blade (which she reforged into a glaive), took over the Knob Goblins by force, renaming it the Empire of the Ebony blade. Cattaras and his new ally, former KOKOL newcomer Becky Joy, were barely able to escape. They headed to their former enemies, the Kingdom of KOL, to inform them what had happened to the Empire.. and to reveal the secret behind Catrina's stunning betrayal.

Although she'd helped them save several visiting princesses and battle the slaver infestation, Catrina had also taken over Degrassi Knoll and South Degrassi. After nearly executing Sebastian Dash in Honorburg, would anyone really care that Catrina's corrupt soul was lost in the depths of hell?

All of this and more has down by the end of the mission's Rollover. The rest of the mission sees our Adventurers having to get into Hey Daze where they run into new and old enemies. . . and one very strange new player character named Jay!

Like the original trip to Hey Daze, Return was an epic success.. Which is good since it leads us into the Season 2 finale! This mission has a good mix of solos, co-writes with a bunch of people, and everything in between. Check it out!

Feature characters: Catrina Whiteclaw. The fallen heroine is the star of our show- and she wants redemption! But who steps up to help rescue her? With Kadlin Bearsmasher determined to keep her from returning from the depths of hell, will saving her even be possible? Catrina, as might be expected, displays a masterful performance here. We get insight into her character like never before as she deals with both dangerous and deranged demons (and a dangerous and deranged new ally) while still showing the horrific effects of everything she's been through.

Kadlin Bearsmasher is really starting to come into her own, just in time to play the main PC villain role in the Season Finale, which starts next mission. Here, she shows how far she's fallen thanks to the influence of her cursed Ebony Glaive. Although she could have stood to be a bit more active, the character development she gets makes up for that.
Jay debuts, along with his shoulder demon Lou! They're a crazy pair. Combined with their unique assortment of abilities, it makes them an exceptionally unique duo.
Sebastian Dash has known Catrina longer than anyone else in the mission other than Catrina's mate (Daisuke) and her brother (Cattaras). Before she betrayed KOKOL, he was also her oldest ally. After dealing with that and reconnecting with Aleena, Dash encounters a twisted version of Honorburg, Dash's old stomping grounds. It's a very emotional mission for the heroic rogue.
Sir Fumblies and Becky Joy! Fumblies finds himself a guide named Wolf to help him get into Hey Daze. After her campsite hijinx, Becky Joy joins him in battling a demon on the way there and deal with two 7-Eternal bosses, who are lead by a traitor to Fumblies! Fumblies and Becky also meet up with Cattaras down there.
After finding his own way into Hey Daze thanks to a spirit from his past, Zed Shinestone is the first person Jay meets in AIL. Zed later meets up with Konall, right before the two run into Catrina and then Jay.
Cattaras Whiteclaw once again managed to shine. Between escaping Kadlin's attempts to take him out in the Rollover and battling the bosses of Hey Daze (and later, Kadlin's forces in the Finale), he manages to further bond with Becky and train under Master Sliver, which was itself a fascinating, fun little side story. Cattaras and Becky are also the ones who set the mission in motion when they flee the former Feline Empire and get Dash to agree to help rescue Cattaras's sister Catrina.
Konall Bearsmasher, by the way, is the only one to get into Hey Daze by technically drinking himself to death. (Meaning, of course, only a technical death. An "almost death," you could say.) The voter considers him Hero of the Mission for the bit where he runs into Catrina.
Fahari: Can't forget about her. She faces down her most traumatic memory in Hey Daze - the one where she lost her parents. Fahari also starts to discovers new depths to her holy powers in the depths of Hey Daze in this excellent and dark journey she's on.
Aleena is back! After communicating with Sebastian, she returns to the Kingdom along with Cyber Sunset, who had been travelling space with her. Aleena vs. Kadlin is fittingly epic.
Todd Blackpaws continues growing as a character in this mission. Besides reflecting on his divine brush with his Goddess, Todd and Wildfall pair up with Fahari, which always makes great stories. Todd is one of the many to face down his own past in the ethereal depths of Hey Daze.
Tarvel sets himself a bit from the other elves with a reflective solo roleplay. She and Glyn later join Dash in a twisted version of Honorburg where they see plently of combat.
Glyn, meanwhile, set himself aside with a little more bickering with Dash before the group ventured through the portal into Hey Daze.
Jen originally stays behind to help Aleena attempt to guard the portal to Hey Daze - so she's there for an epic space elves vrs. Kadlin battle.

And featuring: Asami, Sir Fumblies's Knob Goblin brutes, Catrina and Daisuke's (prince?) infant, Dark Catrina, the child inside Sir Fumbles's enhanced armor, Cyber Sunset, an echo of young Sebastian Dash, demon waiter, echos from Todd Blackpaws's past, an echo of Katlana, Becky Joy's Knob Goblins, Kyomi, Lou the shoulder demon, Miyako, Sylenia, Valaria, Wolf, Jarlsboris Wildfall, Zachane, Zed Shinestone's reptilian goddess and mysterious spirit, Sliver, an echo of Arata Tanaka, Tus, Twitch, and an echo of Zluffles.
Antagonists for the series include (not necessarily limited to): echos of Raruall's beasts, Bones the necromancer, Daisuke, Zedika Dark, a demonninja, Dr. Darth, small army of Darthbots, Demon Mafia, a Demon Mafia Enforcer, countless hordes of demons, demonic echos of a Catalinan cathouse, demonic echos from Fahari's past, demonic echos from Honorburg's possible future, Hellhounds, Hunk, Knob Goblin commanders, mutated Knob Goblins, "well-hung" minotaurs, the Penguin Mafia, several summoned skeletons, Slit, an oversized skeletal dragon, Goblin Smashers, Gluttonous succubae, tentacle demons and their groupies, tigers, a giant demonic echo of Wild Bull, and Xandador
