Machines and Soul

Guild Warriors II: Machines and Soul (ran by Sebastian Dash and Konall Bearsmasher)

Historical recap Siblings Konall and Kadlin Bearsmasher spent much of their lives on separate paths which came together later in Konall's story.

After battling as a young soldier in the infamous KOKOL / Pertene wars, Konall participated in the early AIL mission stories, battling the penguin mafia and helping on the Mysterious Island of Mystery with the troubles with the Chrono Dragon. This served as Catrina Whiteclaw's first mission... and Konall's last mission for some time.

Konall was gone while KOKOL grew, adding several new members as they went to Hey Daze and battled the growing problem of the Knob Goblins. During an early conflict between the two, the KOKOL forces saved the Toot Oriole from the Knob Goblins, who were just beginning to build up the Elite 7, an eclectic group of warriors who pushed KOKOL to the limit several times, even defeating KOL's finest at various points.

The war culminated with the Goblin King leading an invasion into KOL and attempting to burn it down. Konall returned during the attacks where he found his sister... and discovered she had dedicated her life to learning magic, something forbidden by their culture. Although she briefly battles on KOKOL's side, by the end of the Goblin King's zombie invasion (don't ask), Kadlin and others others (including Becky Joy) have transferred their loyalty to the Catrina, who has now taken over the Knob Goblins, disposing of their King and renaming them the Feline Empire.

The Story so far: Things get chaotic with KOKOL and the Empire both clashing and teaming up as their troubles takes them to Honorburg to save several princesses. During those adventures, they're swept up into another world where our heroes are the villains and vice versa. Things fall apart at this point, with Konall and Sir Fumblies (formerly of the Feline Empire) breaking apart from both groups to form a third faction, which would someday become to be known as the Blood Clan.

Most recently, with several space elves settled into the Kingdom and Sassy Snake joining the action again, clashes arise in Degrassi Knoll, which is now under Feline Empire "protection," and Kadlin, who's abusing her power in an attempt to get more. Cattaras Whiteclaw, who's officially in the area, is not happy with this, leading to a violent confrontation between Kadlin's forces and several others...

We're back for a rather successful mission here, seeing the return of Vixen, Lapine, Awakesun, Runic, Bandit and more, in addition to several great battles involving the the slavers and the quartet of odd 'Seven-Eternal bosses' who debut way back in Enter Hey Daze. (We'll get a bit more of Hey Daze once that mission is finished and posted, too.)

This mission is divided up into two quests, with each seeing plenty of co writes, action, and humor, and each having its very own one piece Finale!

(Special mention here for three of Mitch's characters, Todd and Cattaras, and especially Fahari. All three shine.)

As always, let's take a look at the roster for the mission...

Feature characters: Jarlsboris Wildfall and Todd Blackpaws. The two are so close and play off each other so well, it must have been hard to say who did better. They were together for five co writes, just the two and also with Fumblies and sometimes Fahari. The two go hard after the slavers and maybe grow a little along the way. Especially after meeting a couple cute two ninja gals.
Fahari also deserves special note here. She was tied for the top points getter at 22- but she was the only one of three to win her mission along with it. She visits each village, suffers some defeats and setbacks, and even gets captured at one point.. but the writing is excellent throughout it! She meets up with Zed and later Catt as well.
Sir Fumblies mostly keeps Wildfall and Blackpaws company in Ninja village, as well as dealing with the ghost of the ninja child in his armor.
Kadlin Bearsmasher starts to really expand her dark powers.. although her role in the finale is a little surprising... or maybe not.
Konall Bearsmasher, one of the earliest AIL adventurers, shows up for another round of enlightenment. He shows off both battle skills and leadership as well. And plenty of humor!
Cattaras Whiteclaw also shines in spite of being captured at one point. We feel many new sides to the character.. especially when he chooses to follow his mind when picking his mission rather than his thirst for revenge!
Sebastian Dash, like Catrina and Konall, is another one from early in the days. Dash thrives in a variety of co writes, and a hot solo with him and Katherine Swift. He's cool headed and performs consistently in this mission, like always!
Jen is the highlight of the space elves here, showing her leadership skills in the Kadlin-included disastrous weather, against the slavers and of course in the Finale.
Tarvel manages to get some good parts into the mission, though. Another great space elf character.
Gail aka Awakensun makes her return here. Although she ranks rather low, returning after so long, even briefly, is worth a note here!

Also representing KOKOL: the Centaur brothers, Defley, a fat drunk messenger and King MTiger.
Also representing the Feline Empire: Becky's Goblin quartet, Becky Joy, the Black Paladin, Kearin's mutated rat (and other assorted horrors), Scaros, Slit and Xanadon the Defiler.
Also representing the third faction: Zed Shinestone and Spaz.
And featuring: Cashon D. Barrelhead, Citizens of Degrassi, Destiny & Hope, Forest Town & Ninja Village, the Council of Loathing, Flashmask the ninja, Fledge Flynling, Hel, two kunoichi, mysterious old man in Ninja Village, Raven, Sassy Snake, Katherine Swift, a trio of escaped & starving furries, the Toot Oriole, a twelve-foot-tall demon and the blessed goddess Vixen.
Antagonists for the series include (not necessarily limited to): Bandit, the playing cards of Hate, Zedika Dark, ghosts, Gnollish drunken crossdresser, Gnollish drunken tiretosser, Lapine, Slick, Runic, the Seven-Eternal managers, the slavers, Vixen, Xion, zombies and the zombie slavers.

Roleplay title Writer(s) PC Cameos
(yes or no)
Information
Rollover(s) Dash Yes The council have a couple of mission briefings for the active clans - and prizes for the winner. The slavers have gained the ability to revive (or at least animate) their recently dead. They've used this power to take over the Ninja Village. Heroes are required to remove this problem. Meanwhile, Hey Daze demons have taken over Forest Village. With a 'life machine' hidden but active in the village, they're going to need some help.
Fox on Fire Todd, Fahari, Fumblies and Wildfall no (Crossover) After hearing of the slaver's taking over ninja villiage, Todd runs into a couple thugs as well as Wildfall, Fumblies and Fahari.
Post-Finale (Konall's Grudge) Dash, Cattaras, Glyn, Jen, Tarvel and Raven yes (Crossover) Dash, Cattaras and the space elves set out about figuring how to deal with the catastrophic weather Kadlin magically left in her wake, deciding to split up.
The Wildfall friends Fahari, Fumblies, Todd and Wildfall no (Crossover) Just as soon as the four arrive in town, Fahari gets a divine message and has to move over to the Forest mission (making this a Crossover co-write). Also, Fumblies, Wildfall and Todd explore the Ninja village and run into some of the slaver thugs.
Cattaras' Grudge Becky, Cattaras and Dash no (Forest) Dash and Cattaras set about rescuing disaster victims with a little surprise help. Later, they meet with Becky and her Goblins to get the latest mission briefings.
Some blood falling in the Forest Fahari and Zed yes (Forest) After helping with the post Kadlin disaster aftermath, Zed sets out on the Forest mission and runs into Fahari. The two confront Zedika Dark and a couple surprises.
Windfall, Fumblies, and Todd Fumblies, Todd and Wildfall no (Ninjas) Wilde, Fumblies and the 'foxy bard' work their way into Ninja Village and talk to some of the locals.
Wake-up call, busy days ahead Cattaras, Fahari and Zed Yes! (Forest) Fahari and Zed are tied up, prisoners of Runic and Bandit. Red and Cattaras set about freeing them.
Space elves pull no punches Glyn, Jen and Tarvel yes (Ninja) The space elves battle some slavers to try to help keep a couple of young escaped furries safe.
A fox, two foxes, and Wildfall Todd and Wildfall yes (Ninjas) Todd and Wildfall are extra charming in this co write. After Fumblies wonders off, the Ireacan and the fox bard run into a couple sexy, intriguing ninja girls who don't mind showing a little ninja skin and skill.
Hot Steamy Escape Cattaras, Fahari and Zed o'yes (Forest) Catt, Zed and Fahari are feeling the life machine's effect on their hormones as they try to escape. Things get complicated when they are ambushed by some reluctant enemies!
Elevation Kadlin and Konall No (Crossover) A tale of two siblings. Well, a split tale of the siblings. Konall is on a spiritual journey with Spaz. Meanwhile, Kadlin's skull familiar Xanadon is helping her refine her dark powers at Farnsworthy tower as her descent into pure evil continues.
Reaping the Dead Kadlin no (Ninjas) In this exciting short, Kadlin tries to bring the zombies attacking her under her control - but something is making that harder than expected.
The Exorfist Konall yes (Forest) Konall deals with and battles demons - and engages in an exciting high stakes battle with Hunk! Incredible!
Passion over Reason Dash no (Forest) Dash and Kathy meet up and set up a campsite. Old feelings are quickly stirred up between the two as passions are sparked in this fun little piece.
Friction Cattaras, Dash, Fahari and Zed no (Forest) Dash and Kat's makeout session is interrupted by Cattaras, Zed and Fahari. Things are somewhat tense as the five go about making final plans for Forest Village.
Becky and I head out Becky and Sassy Snake yes (Forest) After a little flashback earlier in the mission (where we establish how Sassy helped Degrassi Knoll after the disaster), we have Becky and Sassy setting out for the forest mission. Becky, her goblins and Sassy have a little fun after setting up camp.
A strange stench in the woods Awakesun and Becky yes (Forest) Becky and Goblina sneak off upon smelling a strange stench. They run across their old ally Awakesun, formerly Awakensun. The two 'battle' I the Mouse! More good silly fun!
Road to Ninja Village Todd, Fumblies and Wildfall no (Ninjas) A little more Todd/ Wildfall humor as the two join up with Fumblies for a brief battle with the slavers. This is a great lead in to the 7 part finale!
NINJAS Finale Becky and Todd N/A Wildfall and Blackpaws have their two female ninja allies. Fumblies commands.. er.. the Fumblies Command. The space elves stand united! And yet, even with Kadlin Bearsmasher taking their side over the slavers, it might not be enough to free ninja village!
Forest Finale: Salvation and Damnation Konall and Dash yes The Queen of Hate plays her final hand, and even the combined might of Konall Bearsmasher, Fahari, Sebastian Dash, Becky Joy and her Goblins, Awakesun, Sassy Snake, Cattaras Whiteclaw, and Zed Shinestone doesn't seem like it'll be enough to turn the tide on the queen's attack!
